I really love your passion for good food. By the way you use “Dhania Jeera “ powder at the end of the recipes, unlike turmeric where you add it directly in the oil. Why is that. Will it not taste raw if added at the end. Also what is the recipe for Dhania Jeera powder. Is it 50:50 ratio by weight or by volume ? Also do we have to dry roast them first before mixing them . Thank you for your comment 😊 If you add dhaniya jeera powder with the oil like turmeric powder, the Sabji will turn out black and it will lose its flavor. If you add the powder at the end, it will enhance the flavor and the color of the Sabji. I added turmeric powder with the oil so that the Sabji gets its color. To make dhaniya jeera powder, all you do is lightly roast coriander seeds and cumin seeds, and then finely crush it in a mixer. The powder is ready.

Very flavorful recipe. Only thing, I haven’t seen this kind of beans in Indian grocery store here in California , maybe they are available seasonally, not sure. But we get papdi. Is it same as valor beans, it’s shape is slightly different & flat though. Thanks

In Gujarati family the proportion is 3:1. 3cups of dhaniya powder with I cup old cumin powder.
