@@wihanfourie9059 for me it's easier to just google the meets it takes a few seconds lol. I just come to these videos to discuss. If you're a real track fan you will already when the races are happening. I think about track 24/7.
Another field that is very stacked in this meet is the 110m hurdles, with Holloway, Cunningham, Roberts, Parchment, Tinch, and Izumiya. Even Martinez and Crittenden are no slouches. Really looking forward to what I’d consider the first REAL professional hurdles race of the year for the men.
I'm in suspense. Out of the top four mentioned, I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two not showing up, but if they all do, I would it will be a thriller. Talou and Alfred have a lot to prove..
I’m taking Julian Alfred for the win here. She will be hungry while Shacarri and Elaine have their eyes set for the Olympics. I imagine both will be pretty quick but mainly a test to gauge their opponents. Shacarri has a tendency to stride out races she doesn’t see a clear victory in so I have Elaine coming second
ShaCarri completely deflated after the 100M final in Budapest…she just checked out! Interestingly, on the topic of Elaine vs ShaCarri and understanding they have the absolute two highest top speeds in the business (aside from FloJo), ShaCarri was gaining on Elaine in that Prefontaine race last year. with ShaCarri catching and passing her on a slow year in 2022 and catching up to her here, I’m starting to feel ShaCarri indeed has higher top speed than Elaine. It’s close…very close, but that’s how it appears. In any event, these two ladies are the two to beat in Paris…they will both be on fire!
Actually elaine reached a higher top end speed than flo jo when she ran 10.54. But maybe thats when shes completely healthy and in her best form that she has that. Either way i think ta lou will take this but elaine always my fav.
@@jonasznizio8675 right, I’m familiar with all of it. Although I’m not entirely certain this is true because they based this upon the reading of her actual speed for a certain moment, whereas for FloJo, since we didn’t have that technology at the time, they went by her 10M split, which is an average. If we use Elaine’s 10M split, it doesn’t come out as fast because FloJo’s 10M splits are actually faster than Elaines. But, I get your point and we have the same understanding of this. We agree Elaine is both of our favorite, and we agree on TaLou taking it! I’m really sad about TaLou waiting this late in her career to get this coach, because the true champion in track & field is TaLou. She didn’t previously lift weights, she ran tense (slows us down TONS), she clearly had bad coaching & execution, and year after year, still ran 10.8’s with an excellent start and finish. With this new coach, we are now seeing what she “would have been” if she had the resources of USA & Jamaica…too little, too late, but I honestly feel had TaLou been training with John Smith the entire time, Shelly wouldn’t have been as huge a star, because anyone putting out 10.8’s without proper training has some serious talent!
