    *I was informed that the lift gate button CAN close the rear lift gate,* it apparently wasn’t working properly for me. Sorry about that!

      You have to hold the button on the door for it to close.

      Actually you have to trip the proximity sensor to use the fob in the back. The power has to be on to close the hatch with the door button. You pull up and hold.

    Finally a reviewer who knows how to film trunk space. Thanks greatly. Good review.

    That racing green with mauro brown interior is gorgeous! Super smooth riding vehicle, love the digital dash, adaptive headlights, towing, panoramic roof & all the room & 5 star safety rating. VW should not have cheaped out by not putting the sunglass holder and passenger seat under seat storage. I don't expect great MPG because of it's size and what it is, but am still disappointed that it isn't a bit more efficient.

    I didn't know that the 2021 refresh is 2.4 inches longer than the predecessor. Thanks for detailed review. It was very helpful!

    The button inside does allow you to lower the lifegate. You have to hold it up to get it to lower. This has been in every model at the SEL level and above since 2019.
    The key fob does allow it too cause I've done it before. But it might matter if the vehicle is on or not.

    3 seatbelts in the third row doesn't mean 3 people can be crammed back there.
    Good review, Nolan. The Atlas isn't my favorite among larger midsize 3 row crossovers but for those who regularly transport 6 or more average size adults or teenagers or have kids in child seats it's arguably the best mainstream midsize SUV available. Competitors may claim to seat eight passengers compared to the Atlas maximum of 7 but putting three seatbelts in the third row doesn't mean three people larger than a Wizard of Oz munchkins can be crammed in that space.
    The most obvious case of over-promising and under-delivering is the Toyota Highlander where the claim of seating eight is a cruel joke supported only by the existence of three sets of seatbelts. The Atlas, on the other hand, makes no pretense of seating 3 people in the back row. But what it does accomplish is providing the roomiest third row of any midsize SUV. And add to that the cargo space behind the third row that rivals the leaders in the category, the bus-like Chevy Traverse and the KIA Telluride.
    Bottom line. If interior space in a midsize SUV is a customer's highest priority it's hard to beat the Atlas.

    It is a very cool looking simple SUV. I can sense that it is comfortable and spacious. I think it would look good in light tan color 🤔. Excellent as always Nolan 👌. This is my new picture for a little bit 😀

    Much prefer the integrated screen as opposed to the "tacked on top" look. Great headroom in the Atlas----which is rare.

    It's a handsome car with some serious competition. Disappointing gas mileage from VW, why no hybrid? Not horrible, it just needs a few tweaks.

    So they have light steering because they know many women drive the atlas and they want light steering. You can also change the steering weight by going to “custom” mode and adjusting the steering weight

    Great vid, quick correction though, you can power close the trunk from inside or with the key fob.

    I did test drive, looks like 2.0 engine version is more agile and more quiet then 3.6.
    If no towing - I would take 2.0.

      Both are overpriced. Especially in my area. They're 10k to 20k over msrp.
      Plus, good luck finding either available to test drive. For 70k, you might as well just get a luxury 3 row sum.
      If I'm gonna spending 75k on a Telluride, might as well just get a Lincoln Aviator.

    I test drove one last week. Love the look of it, very roomy and comfortable. But I HATED the way it handled. Felt like I was piloting a boat, the way it floated. Reminded me of the ‘88 Grand Marquis on which I learned to drive, but no other SUV its size drove nearly that “big.” Very disappointed.

    Beautiful car but I think it is underpowered plus direction injection is problematic. I would get the Highlander even though I like the style of the VW better.

    Sir I saw your likes and dislikes video about the VW Atlas and now seeing this one. I drive a 2021 Atlas 2.0T SE 4Motion that I received new on 17 December 2020 with only 221 miles. I believe the dealer drove the vehicle from other dealer as he did not have this exact one in inventory. Your statement about not able to close the rear lift gate is not correct. As you know there is a switch on the lower part of the driver's door to open the rear lift gate. If I pull the switch to the rear and hold it there for about 5 seconds the rear lift gate will close while beeping sound is heard. Also, I was a little worried about the gas mileage. As of today I have 3200 miles in the Atlas. I do a lot of driving for work. I've been driving very easy going and slow acceleration from stop. And using the engine stop function at stop lights, etcetera. I can get 28 mpg highway and 25 mpg city. I'm very happy with the VW Atlas.

    They really could have used some better (more solid feeling) plastics throughout and acoustic glass (at least on the 3 high end models)

    Does the 2021 still have the sensitive accelerator? Our 2020 SEL V6 FWD will peel out even on dry payment. 🤦‍♂️
    We should’ve bought an AWD.

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it does. It was surprisingly touchy to me. I can definitely understand the peeling out with it lol

    • @peachesandoreo
      @peachesandoreo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, my 2021 SEL V6 FWD is very touchy on tip in from the throttle. It takes away from the overall enjoyment, you really have to finesse the throttle. I want to get going rapidly, but not break loose the tires. I also wish I had the 4motion. Goodyear Finesse tires on it are aptly named.

    I know every car brand is kind of the same now mostly because every one then are mass-produced. Some car brands are more reliable than some however I wanted to see, is Volkswagen a good reliable car long-term or an endless money pit?

      hi jsia i am driving vw touareg for the last 12 years with 320000 km on it. It hasnt given me any major problems. also i have used it for dune bashing and basic off road. yes some basic wear a tear have come up but i still use it on daily basics.
