    I have owned a neo tech pros. Started and ran great good power bar and chain great. Con handle squeeze felt alittle rough and it leaked bar oil but it wasn't a pro model

    Hey Doug,
    I actually have this saw and have for a few weeks. I NO expert by any means but I put a video up of me running it thru some big oak check it out. Honestly I'm very impressed with it. I purchased it to help cut down a very large old live oak that is begging to lean over and it's helped me get the job done for sure. Only issue I have had is the sprocket cover was cracked on delivery but thier customer service was quick to get that fixed. Other than that while I was trying to tune it, the damn rubber housing around the tuning screws was a pain to tune cause I really couldn't tell if I was turning anything.

    I like Neo-Tec as a company. They seem to want to put out an above average quality product.... from the start. Unlike Farmertec, which was VERY slow to catch on to that as a business model. Although Farmertec DID recently step up their product offerings with the "Pro" model saws. (White case & hydro dip plastics) I personally really like the white coated cases on the g372.

      First I had no problems assembling saw but was curious about why they advertise an Italian coil and NGK plug. I read on line how others had bad coils. I could cold start my saw and ran ok for about an hour total while breaking it in. Didn’t try hot starting. but when released trigger after cutting firewood, engine would drop rpm and die. Couldn’t hit start. Checked spark and was none visible with plug out.
      Put new plug in and next day it cold started. Died after 10 mins and wouldn’t restart again. Tried contacting seller and they said they tried calling me but nothing came up on phone or reply to email thru Amazon reseller link. Got cryptic return after a few days. Replied, same deal. Language problem? Then sent phone in NY state. Just voice mail. Still no return call.
      Would cold start but same problem. I really wanted a lower cost alternative but bought recertified Rancher 455 for about same money with two year warranty off eBay and sent back my neotech after they wanted me to pay return postage. Lack of support was deal killer.

    Mr. Indiana Doug, that $289 towards a nice genuine Husqvarna 365 or a nice Echo made in Japan? I'd be scared to take one of these down to my local Husqvarna dealer. Yeah, even Stihl and Husqvarna have part manufactures in China, that's not necessarily a bad thing but I would perfer as much of the machine to be made in Sweden, Germany, Japan or America. The Chinese are very smart people, why can't the make machines to compete with Husqvarna, Stihl or Echo and set themselves apart? I'd be very surprised if that sprocket and clutch cover was genuinely made in Sweden, that's hard to believe. I wish all you guys the best of luck who buy these saws. I would hate to see you spends hundreds in genuine OEM parts when it was better to spend the extra money on the real deal, call me old fashioned, lol!

    • @IndianaDoug
      @IndianaDoug  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get what you’re saying for sure. I have a lot(a whole lot) of OEM machines. I’d like to keep most of them, especially the older ones, in good shape. One of the reasons I don’t mind throwing some of these clones around. They are a great way for new builders to learn as well. Nothing will replace the real thing(that I’ve seen).

    • @richardsullivan1776
      @richardsullivan1776 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@IndianaDougI get it sir, the learning part out the equation never occurred to me. Good stuff can come from China so why they don't follow their own path, I don't know. I just like the satisfaction of knowing a good saw will last years and won't be thrown away or recycled in a scrap yard. Echo makes an affordable saw with quality behind it. Do you get any warranty with the Neo- Tec or Farmertec? I mean I can check a spark plug, pull a muffler, clean and sharpen my chain but I'm no mechanic. These saws wouldn't really do anything for me. I love to clean them, sharpen the chains and clean the bar grooves, its just as relaxing as running them.

      If channels weren't testing this equipment, everyone would be going into a purchase completely blind. The China stigma is a thing of the past, Milwaukee, Dewalt, Stanley, etc all have Chinese plants. 10 yrs ago I'd agree with you, but everything from dirtbikes to tools coming out of China are far better than a decade ago.
      I bought all my kids dirtbikes from GPX Moto, California company, Chinese built but excellent quality control. I did this because I could buy a beginner rider a KTM clone for 3000 dollars vs 10k for a genuine KTM, and if my son was not interested a year later, I could sell the bike for 2500 on FB marketplace and be out almost nothing. I will always buy the genuine real deal when I can, but situations sometimes determine what you buy.
