It's not actually known where the Swedish 3 crowns come from. It's originally thought to represent Sweden, Norway, and Scania. There was actually quite a conflict between Sweden and Denmark about the use of the crowns (look up the Three Crowns Conflict).
well some evidance have been found that Sweden have used it even longer then that now. so it can also represent the crowns of the two Goth lands and the Sveas that whuld form sweden when they joined.
@MythLoGic On what ground do you say this? Acording to my sources there were Finnish vikings, yes they came from sweden but had for several generations lived in Finland and are though of as Finnish. =) It woud be weird if they hadn't visited Finland sence that was a rout to get to Russia X)
@FrostRipan In the south west, and the first areas the swedes took, and also the area that had had most contact to the vikings and other traders earlier. Finland wasn't viking but traded with them a lot. The northern areas you're talking about were NOT Finland at this time, nor Sweden, nor anything. They just WERE and hardly anyone but saami's lived there.
@CZeyn There were no finnish vikings, they all were under the name sweden So ofcourse you will not find any info on them Since anything about them is contributed to sweden And that's just great, vikings sailed all over the planet, but never came to Finland, which is right next door Sounds pretty weird, doesn't it?
@FrostRipan added the areas now called Finland to their kingdom starting from the 1150's -->. Kalmar Union started in the 14th century. Then there's fighting, the disagreements within the union, and Sweden and Finland leaves. 1523. Norway and Iceland are still with Denmark. Then we jump to the 1800's when Finland leaves Sweden for Russia, Norway becomes a part of Sweden. And then Finally Iceland's personal union with Denmark 1918/ independency from Denmark 1944, so Denmark is left alone.
I've written my final essay about the nordic countries and I dissagree with those who claim that there were no finish vikings. They were few but worked togheter with the swedish vikings. Most of them were tradesmen just as the "svear" (swedish vikings). At least acording to my littrature sources Gro Steinsland and Rune Palm.
@FrostRipan Your comments would be quite awesome if they weren't as unrelated as most other comments here and full of small fails. Like I mean, please, if you know those areas where undiscovered and basically no one lived there, WHY then call them sweden/finland? During the Viking age Sweden as Sweden didn't even exist..! It was united under Birger jarl in the 13th century,....!
@FrostRipan Then we see lots of memories, and all of them by themselves as they are now, with some modern time history as time passes. And then finally in the end we see a happy reunion. So what the heck is up with the viking debate? It makes no sense. This video is in no way applying Finland was a viking. But on that hand, you're right. The whole Finland was though NOT called Finland nor "the land of the Finns", that's just a small part of today's Finland.
@FrostRipan ...Yes? Watch the video again, please. You will notice that there are only vikings really in the beginning and then history goes forward, so the whole viking debate is completely irrelevant here. I see vikings, and then there's only Sweden, Denmark and Norway there. Then I see the Kalmar Union, and Finland and Iceland have joined the group. Which is completely historically correct as the vikings discovered Iceland and Sweden ...
hey, did ya know? while finland wasn't even part of sweden yet, finns thought that all swedish people are vikings and were afried of them (nothing new) but actually, swedesh people thought at the same time, that all finns are whiches, and they were afraid of us! funny a'nt it? they believed, that finns had the power of controlling wind, earth, water etc. other scandinavians came from south, finns came from the ural mountains. sometimes we've been a nordic, sometimes even baltic.
Hey hey now, don't ever call Finns Russians That's just asking for trouble I understand what you were saying, and I kinda agree But people need to stop the goddamn nitpicking "Finland is not in Scandinavia, Finland is Nordic" Who really cares? I'd rather be Nordic, than Scandinavian, but I really don't care what you call me
Nope, I just dont understand why finns(who came from the north-east) are mixed with scandinavians(who cam from the south). I couldnt care less about that ancient shit, but for me thats like mixing russians with scandinavians. I have nothing to do with "vikings", I was just trying to prove a point..

@12oct2000: Well, it's about all the Nordics but it centers around Denmark, yes.
The video was AMAZING. The nordics are my favorite and you're taken my love of them to a new level. Keep up the good work :)
@maconeko Don't worry about it

"The highest High" by Lovebugs, I think ^^
@weyvind
I agree! There's no point in Finland being in this video, because he didn't really have much to do with that.
@MythLoGic

@FrostRipan

@iskatten the king :D
Well i must say ..Sweden has still the three crowns, for reprecenting denmark and norway😳
This isn't about the viking time? It's about the kalmar union and after that. And Finland was very much a part of that, as Sweden.
@Traveller281 ah i see thanks :)

@sandriz Sandra....I love you ; A ;(hug), I don't know how to tell them my idea totally...OTL, thank you...; A ;

who is the person that norway is crying over at 2:23 ?
If only I'm one with them. It would be a sad-happy life
@maconeko yeah, but which king?
Finnish, is what they're called for one.
And probably because Finland was kinda ya know...under Swedish rule 'round this time. So. Ya know.
hey, did ya know? while finland wasn't even part of sweden yet, finns thought that all swedish people are vikings and were afried of them (nothing new) but actually, swedesh people thought at the same time, that all finns are whiches, and they were afraid of us! funny a'nt it? they believed, that finns had the power of controlling wind, earth, water etc.

I use the term finns/finlenders. But mostly "finns"
Yeah, I know they were under swedish rule. Just pointing out facts.
Finlenders were not vikings, so I dont understand why he, "Finland" is dragged in this setting.
nya bevis har hitats dock att vi har använt 3 kronor inan deta också.
Oh great, now I'm crying and messing my make-up, OMG...
Aww, the Nordic history is filled with tragedy. :')

Hehe, you are absolutely not russians :)
You are finns, shut up and be proud(in a good way) :P
