Still though thanks for the video even if it is old. The preparations for the fair helped a lot and luckily I got 7-9 Star Pumpkins, 1 star fruit, 1 star flower, and a large egg which scored me 92 1st place :3

I literally made a list of every single item I needed subtitled with the room and which bundle, only to find out the exact same thing... urgh that list took me forever to write XD

Me: Why am I watching this, I'm not exactly a new player anymore, I'm in year 4, and-- Video: You can complete gathering ore/coal quests by adding them one at a time from your chests. Me: YOU MEAN I DIDN'T HAVE TO SPEND THE WHOLE DAY MINING FOR 35 COPPER ORE WHEN I HAD LIKE FIVE STACKS IN MY CHEST???
Happened on my first playthrough too, and I never came across another dino egg. Thankfully now they've added in levels in skull cavern where there's a chance for more to drop. And in my second playthrough I knew to incubate the first dino.
Welp I have no clue what that even is but as someone who just got the game now I know if I ever see it to not donate it xD Thanks for your past mistakes teaching me not to do the same! :D
@@Pantherpick Only two things you really need to know is save the dino egg for when you have a chicken coop, then incubate it. And buy a silo early on, BEFORE you cut all your long grass. Long grass is good, weeds are bad. :P Everything else is learn as you go, those two are the only two things I really regretted not knowing in my first playthrough. I thought long grass was just more weeds so cut it all in my first few weeks then had nothing to feed my animals with except hay, and no hay to make because I had no long grass to cut D:
I DIDN'T EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A BACKPACK UPGRADE. I PLAYED THE WHOLE FIRST YEAR, CLEARING THE MINES OUT WITHOUT IT. WOULD'VE SAVED TONS OF TIME AND MADE ME MONEY
@Kierana Grey when you max the hearts to 10 (or 8 for the marriageable ones), it stays that ways forever. No need to maintain except if you marry them. It's pretty handy if you want to complete all the recipes. Some of them even give you valuable stuff like Pam can give you a battery or an energy tonic and Kent gives mega bombs sometimes.
If you talk to someone every day, you get 10 friendship points for that day. If you don’t talk to them that day, you lose 2. I talked to Sebastian and his family every day while gifting him twice a week and Robin got up to 3 full hearts by the time Sebby was at 10. As long as you visit them once a day the friendship goes up and doesn’t decay. Its a little bit of a hassle but if you’re heading up their way, i would just say hi anyway.
There was another update, there are now negative consequences for dating all of the singles in town (giving them bouquets). There are now cutscenes in which the men gather in the saloon, the women in Emily and Haley’s house, and they all dump/hate you afterwards
I only found out during winter my first year on one game because I looked up how to get a vegetable for a bundle and found they only appear in them.... I've had 10+ games with 200 hours each in the past I just was stupid and joined jojo mart
I like Shane, but the developer is adding more content for him, because he only has like two cutscenes... Same with George. The main reason I befriended George was because he liked leeks, which I had tons of. :P
The one day I watched my girlfriend played this, she went to the fair to place all her gold star things in the fair and as she clicked it she was like "omg, I literally forgot all my stuff at home."
same!! i haven't been so happy and well in years and even my therapist is noticing it, stardew valley is just amazing. everyone should at least try it, it brings me so much joy and i'm sure many people could really profit from playing it
Shiii, Im also in my depressive state rn. Idk why, just popped up all of a sudden, after probably 3 months of being okay and hapoy, and I discovered this game just as my dep got back. And it really helped! Anyway, I hope you're doing well now. Since your comment is 2 years ago
Here's a good tip about silos: You can remove the hay from one by clicking the hay dispenser next to an empty feeding trough. Then put the hay into a chest. Then your silo is empty so you can scythe more hay to refill it. You can hold thousands of hay in one chest, but only a couple hundred in a silo. This way you can gather as much hay as you want, but only ever need to build one silo, and all your animals will be well fed all the time. You can refill the silo from stacks of hay in the chest any time by clicking the hay dispenser again with a stack of hay in your hand.
@@kalypso4133 Waa? this isnt very exploity at all and is super simple and makes life alot easier, i would argue restarting till you win the spins at the fair is much more exploity...
Now you can also put Lewis’s ‘purple shorts’ on display at the stardew valley fair and get an automatic first place Edit: forgot that he gets mad at you for it :/
yes, the Quality crops bundle requires 3 sets of 5 gold star crops. you can pick 3 from parsnips, melons, corn and pumpkin. so the best thing to do is save up to 5 gold star parsnips first spring, then 5 gold star melons first summer, and also plant some corn in your first summer. if you get 5 gold star corn before you get 5 gold star pumpkins, you're set
That's what I've been doing now, saving the gold star crops for the bundle cause before I kept screwing myself over forgetting and selling them all... -.-
Watch the fortune teller on the morning or eat a meal that will boost your luck. It will probably never be a perfect 50/50 because of the luck mechanic in the game
I just started Stardew Valley without knowing anything and already made TONS of mistakes. 1. I didn’t know scythes could cut those squares of grass things that give you fiber. 2. I accidentally sold my starter seeds. 3. I lost my bamboo pole. And probably more. I might just start a new game and take what you said lol.
Lol I spent the entire first summer planting turnips and saved up 4,000$ because the old lady told me I needed something for food in winter- then spent it all on a fruit tree. Then it became fall and all my crops died and the fruit tree is still a sapling and only bears fruit next summer. Also I went to the flower festival and nobody wanted to dance with me so I stood in the corner and watched 😭 I'm gonna starve and I'm broke and nobody likes me 😂
Marsco I honestly haven’t played in a bit but I did end up starting a new game. If I didn’t watch this video, I probably would’ve made the same kind of mistake you did lmao
I learned some tips thanks to my gf, she is a veteran. Over time my strat for year one was: Day one invest in your crops, read wich keep giving or need to plant again and how much time they take to grow, my mistake is that i only bought two types instead of all, i put the crops on 3x3 tiles the one in the middle for a sprinkler, also there's a fertilizer that keeps some crops wet to the next day, this saves time and energy. Once you get the quality sprinkler you won't have to worry about watering. Then i go an entire day on mining and the next day on fishing, once i go back from fishing i'd buy salad to explore the mine, if you have some to spare give some salad to the folks there, most of them like it. Back at the house i use shift and right click to split the loot i got, keep at least a sample of everything you encounter, this might come in handy (Community Center). Whelp that's an overall view, i really got hooked into this game, i hope this helps. \[T]/
story time: i remember when i first started playing, and this one quest from pierres said it would give me 100g on delivery if i gave someone fish.... so i spent so much time trying to figure out how many fish is 100 grams 😭
got it last friday i now have more than than 20h on it and it's 2 am on sunday i lost my life to it and made all th wrong choices already welp oups. i guess
Everyone: Save your money! Me: *wasting 400g on beer so Shane will marry me* Edit: Thank you all for the kind tips! I know I can make beer from the keg but still it's nice of you to think of that :)
Another great tip is harvesting and storing all the peppers as well as cheese and making Pepper Poppers. Eating one dish give you about 7-8 minutes of speed (in real time) which mean if you're going mining, you can mine a lot of levels quickly
Actually it's possible to win the Grange display in the first year, you just gotta plan out your 9 items before fall. Generally you should put in gold quality crops and vary your items like minerals, cooking, etc. The wiki has a list of point values for every item and even has a link for a grange display calculator.
I recently won the event first year (first time playing) because i had a lot of Purple quality fish. Upgrading the rod early is the most remunerative thing i could have done
@@manuelredgrave8348 Yeah if you fish pretty regularly in the first year you'll improve your fishing level very quickly. I'm level seven now and it's only fall of the first year.
My tips. Invest time into Stardew Wiki for any question one may have. Bubbles on the water also indicate higher quality fish, not just a high traffic area.
I actually won 1st place on my first year And this is my items.(All gold star) 1.Mayo (Chicken) 2.Anchovy 3.Pumpkin 4.Hazelnut 5.Grape 6.Tomato 7.Eggplant 8.Sunflower P.S-I keep my items from the grange display for next year so i can win again xD
I do the fishing booth the first few times to get a good chunk, then bet half of it on green (which has a 75% chance). Then another half and another. Quickest way imo.
I'm a pack rat who hoarded my gold star items instead of selling them, so I won the Grange easily in my first year with a score of 96. (My display was even color-coordinated.) You don't have to disregard the "sell all your gold star items" advice to win, though - you just need to save one gold star or high value item of each type (shown in the item's description) over the course of the year until you have all nine (animal, artisan, cooking, fish, flower, forage, fruit, vegetable, mineral) and you'll have everything you need to make Pierre cry. For first years, Autumn's Bounty works for Cooking, and you get 5 as an early quest reward, no kitchen upgrade required. Fertilizer + fairy rose, melon and pumpkin will net you a high value, gold or silver star veggie, fruit and flower, and if you pick up every item you see from day one, odds are your Gathering skill will be high enough to have netted you at least a couple gold or silver star items by Fall - just hold on to the one with the highest sell price. If you're able to get a coop or barn, befriending your animals will get you large and gold star animal products, and IIRC gold star products make gold star artisan goods. If you can't get all nine types or all gold star items, you can still win, either by substituting silver or regular items with a high sell price (diamonds, rainbow shells, etc.) or by filling in the gaps with items purchased from the gypsy (yeah, she overcharges, but if all you need is a duck egg, she's cheaper than buying and upgrading a coop.)
for the fall festival, I display all the high-quality goods (gold start) such as cheese, Mayonaise, fruits, sea urchin, clams (make sure it's all high-quality). Then I got 1st place in my 1st year.
The Ore one with Clint would have been great a few hours ago, tried grabbing the few in my box then mining the rest and when I ran with the stack to him he was like, "Whoa, I hate these" and I got so confused because he wanted them
The thing with Clint's quest is that you only need to talk to him with them in your inventory, don't try giving the ore to him lol. It's weird but that's what I found out!
actually, once you collect enough ores, you don't need them in your inventory at all. When it says to talk to him, you can literally do just that. he... still inspects them anyways... somehow... even though they're in my chests... but, whatever, what works, works!
As far as money making goes, grow Starfruit (bought in the Oasis shop in Calico Desert or you can try and use seed maker on the one you get from the Museum for bringing him stuff) and mass stockpile. Once you can make kegs, start making a lot of them and make Starfruit wine. Sells for around 4 to 5k gold per bottle. Once you unlock the Greenhouse this can guarantee around a million a month leaving you free to befriend everyone, fish, play arcade games in Gus's or whatever. I spend year one leveling farming to where I can make kegs. Work yourself near to death all day, every day, and you can get Farming to 10 before Winter of first year. Loads of parsnips and cauliflower in Spring, nothing but hops in the Summer, stockpile them until I can make kegs, then make them into pale ale and sell. Fall, I grow wheat and make into beer and sell. Dedicating resources to kegs, I can have 30 by the end of the first year. By winter, you should have Greenhouse and Bus repaired which allows access to the Calico Desert where you can always buy the Starfruit seeds.
i also have ancient seeds starfruit and hops all year long in my green house after the hops matures they will give you a new harvest every day. if you got enough kegs to keep up with them they also give a nice amount of money
Natasja Kammerman : Ancient fruit is great though 1.1 nerfed it. Honestly, Ape should nerf Starfruit. Nearly 5 grand a bottle of unaged wine is a bit much. Makes money meaningless and almost feels like cheating haha
There's better min-maxing methods out there. My recommendation is just play however you want and not rush the clock. Makes it much less enjoyable if you try to rush things on the first playthrough. And you can develop most of your own min-maxing techniques after your own first playthrough.
"Girls only I need a fire quartz. You know why." Ah...No I do not and I would rather not. Abigail all ready eats the normal ones I would rather not know what you do with the fire ones. But this stuff is good to know.
This is how i won the stardew valley fair xD --gold star pumpkin --gold star pumpkin --gold star pumpkin --gold star pumpkin --normal pumpkin --gold star pumpkin --silver star black berry --silver star sunflower --gold star mayonnaise With 91 points in first year anyone can copy if they want xD so easy no struggling
to get gold star is sometimes big hassle, if you leave to your boxes one of everything, all you need to win is pick at least 6 normal items that are worth over 200 gold and rest can be 100 worth items. you get higher score the more random you pick you have there.
Doing a playthrough with a Joja Cola membership. The positive effect is that you can get progress much faster than waiting on a season to catch a fish or find a crop. Fall year one, I have everything unlocked.
Swagwan if you date all the guys they catch you in the bar and basically murder you (okay not really they just dump you). Same thing happens with the girls but in someone's house.
For the fall festival fair it's not hard to get first place. Just save 9 different gold star items along the year (and honestly just in the fall is manageable too) and you'll win the full 1000 points. The trick of the wheel is that it will never land on orange three times. You can only lose twice at the most. So the first round you bet 160 points on green. If you win do that again. If you lose then bet 320 on green. If you lose again bet 640 on green (because you will win next for sure). Anytime you win just bet 160 on green again. You'll always make points and eventually you'll get the 3400 points to buy everything at the store.
My first playthrough, I too collected 9 gold star items. I won. Except the betting game. It almost cost me a lot of points. Hate that game in the fair. lol
You're supposed to use items from different categories and such. It's best to look up a more thorough guide than what can be provided on TH-cam comments.
"I thought recording footage for this would take max a day or so. I was wrong" STORY OF MY LIFE. Great video by the way. Helped me out a hell of a lot!
Update for tips: #11 now you need a steel axe to break the log... Tip for tip: #14 eat after you put a bomb down so you don't waste any time and you won't get hurt by your own bomb...
Some of this changed, the official stardew wiki states that high quality items give more friendship points, and that you get 8x as much friendship points from a gift on someones birthday
I just want a harvest moon series again with stardew mechanics. I really love the art especially the characters. How i wish i can marry karen again in stardew
My first play through had so many frick ups but it was so much fun. Example: when the letter telling me about the luau told me to bring something good to add to the potluck, I brought quartz because (at least to me) it was the most valuable thing I had at the time. I was so excited to add my piece, and when I realized the potluck was a soup I got a little suspicious, but it wasn’t like I could leave and get something else. So I walk up, confident and excited to add my quartz to the soup and... it doesn’t let me. I needless to say, the mayor found the soup to be missing something that year.
Tip, if you want to upgrade your watering can, but never get rainy days, you can ask robin to make a cabin for you. They are usually used to enable multiplayer, but in the cabin there is a drawer that you can open ( if there isn’t another player on your save file at that time) and there is another set of tools, including a watering can. You can also just set up the save file to immediately have cabins instead of having to pay for them. I generally find this useful for all the other tools too.
I didn't know you could put ores into your inventory singularly and have it count towards the quests. I always went mining again to get fresh ones! Useful advice there.
+Peter Schulze This is how I did it, depending on how long it takes to get a bite I got between 5-7 fish per play and the 6-7 tends to yield like 300+ tokens(If I recall). It helped I didn't have a problem with the fair showcase either since I have a habit of hoarding at least 1 of every gold item I find, I just mixed a bit of everything and added a diamond and gold bar.
Flavor I remember, in the beginning, it was quite hard. But you get used to it. Now, I even can guess the kind of fish from its behaviour. And at fishing level 10 the bar has about double the length it had at level 1, I guess. Now I use mostly trap bobbers, which makes the fish escape much slower. This all helps a lot. But I can also understand people who are not as patient as me, and install a mod to make fishing easier.
+Peter Schulze I didn't realize that the showcase of your wares would let you stay at the festival afterwards, so I fished and got all the points to buy every reward BEFORE putting my items in. That sucked lol
LadyPaks Nice, so you were able to buy some extra stuff.Or does the shop run out of it? I like the token idea, because you are forced to earn your money there.
A crucial tip to place your coop and barn (things with animals) really close to your house, because putting them further away will take MANY minutes of your time every day that you could easely use to do more useful things (Also, before visiting Robin to construct a farm building, make sure you got did of all the stones and grass-patches in the area, because there's nothing more frustrating than visiting Robin, only to realize that you can't place your construction in the place where you want it
Actually, he recently made it so high quality items ARE appreciated, if you give them an iridium star LOVE item on their birthday, dear god is your friendship problems done
THE HAMMER IS THE BEST WEAPON IN THE GAME. It’s “special move” will knock back any enemy you aim it at, and is generally faster at taking out monsters. The best hammer is the Galaxy Hammer. To get it, get a prismatic shard, then go to the desert and stand in the middle of the three tower-like things with the shard in your hand. You’ll have unlocked the galaxy tools, with can cost a lot but are 100% worth the investment!!
Its called the secret forest, it has 6 tree stumps and youll need a steel axe to get there. Slimes spawn there so bring a weapon. It has rare items depending on the seasons growing around. The pond also has a few special fish.
"You want hard wood" - Kappa. In all serious though one of your videos was recommended to me and your voice is soothing :). This game looks really fun like that game Animal Crossing kind of, and I played that for a long time collecting all the junk in it (the original one on Game Cube). So I think I might give this a try now. Thanks for showing it!
Lol, started up my first game on Stardew.. watched Morris come into Pierre's and give Joja coupons to all of the customers in a store that wasn't his and resolved myself to never step foot in the Joja market. Finally did once just to see how bleak it looked on the inside, mainly because I was curious as to what it looked like... I still refuse to give Joja money though.
I did as well. But for the most part if you have a Gold Pumpkin, a Gold Cranberry, and a Gold Mayonnaise (from a large egg), and you just put one item each from the other item categories(Fish, Mineral, Forage, Fruit, etc) in there, your going to win.
I won 1st place too. I had gold quality crops and forage, some mineral, maple syrup, a large egg, and a chocolate cake that i didnt even make lol (it might have been a gift, or a bundle reward? forgot)
The trick is to cover as many categories as possible. The more categories you can fill (animal, artisan, vegetable, fruit etc) the more points you get overall. The good thing is that you keep everything you use, so don't be afraid to go large with your best products since you can still sell them later.
It's not actually about the quality of the product, just the price. Just look through your chests for the most expensive item from each category (pufferfish, wine, pumpkin, cheese, gold bar, solar essence, etc.)
Starred gifts do give extra friendship points. Silver adds a 10% modifier, Gold 25% and Iridium a massive 50%. So an Iridium star + Loved + Birthday can give a jaw dropping +960 friendship points.
Noted, however as other commenters have done it would be better if you added "as of the recent patch" or something to that effect to your comment for clarification.
There is no need to be hostile. I edited my video quite a while ago as you are not the first to post this comment. Other players did add the "changed in 1.1", which made their comments far clearer than yours. I suppose you did not realise because you don't have annotations enabled, like many others unfortunately. "Editing" the video otherwise would require a re-upload. Like I said, this was uploaded in april and it was not misinformation at that point. It still isn't as I edited it through the only available option.
One of the tips is no longer valid (you should consider putting an annotation). Item quality does now affect the friendship bonus you get when giving items to people. It was changed in the big update a few months back.
+Brian Stamper you have to buy everything, which takes 6 days, so unless you go to the file where your character is saved made a copy of it, bought all the joja upgrades then deleted it and moved your old one back it's not possible
this is a very old video, but i'm planning to start stardew valley after i graduate from my bachelor's degree in two months' time. so glad to find this video because it's so helpful! and i love how calming your voice is. adding this into my liked videos so i can go back to it whenever. thank youu.
I think the exact opposite :/ I can’t stand her voice/accent and the way she emphasises certain syllables and sounds. Just goes to show the different way people interpret the same thing.
Thanks! This video was really helpful. Fun Fact: until the end of 1st year's spring, I hadn't realised that I could put vegetables and things I earned in the wooden box Next ti my house to sell them :P
Personally, I wouldn't get the 32 bag upgrade until you really need it. I only needed it near the middle of fall, so I didn't waste 10,000 gold which was hard to get early game.
Hey! Neat video. I found a little trick myself, so Imma put that here. Did you know you can leave chests in various places around town? I put a chest next to my fishing hole so I literally cannot run out of inventory space. As far as I can tell (about 6 in game days) nothing is ever stolen out of them so it can be super useful.
Should be careful with this tho. I was courting Haley once so I just filled a chest with sunflowers near her house and after an event, my chest disappeared.
agreed I recently put another chest closer to the lake, and it disappeared. It had a collection of all sorts of artifacts minerals and monster loot. #Feelsbadman
did you check to see if you guys placed your chests in NPC paths? Because if one of the characters walks through your chest (or any item you place) they'll destroy it
THE WORST THING EVER IS WHEN U PREPARE FOR THE FAIR THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND THEN FORGET TO TAKE THE STUFF WITH YOU WHEN YOU GO AND YOU'RE STUCK WITH WHATEVER YOU HAVE IN UR INVENTORY
Ahhh, memories. This video was the first one I ever saw. It's greay to hear how far they've come and how much they've improved over the years. Plus, they sound absolutely *adorable*
I was unknowingly an overachiever during the Stardew Valley during my first playthrough. I saved the Showcase till the end, but wanted the stardrop for 2k points. So I grinded fishing till I get 2k points. Then somehow won first place later. With a total of 3k I bought the Stardrop, the fedora plus other junks. Best day ever.
BTW, if you have seen all 10-heart events with either the boys or the girls, there is a scene where they ALL dump you in one spot (unless you have a rabbits foot in your inventory when you walk into haleys/emilys house or the saloon) These events can only happen once per savefile

I did the same ;o;
i got the dino egg in year 1 and instantly donated it..... that was like two days ago. goddamnit

I didn’t give anyone a gift until my third year thinking it wasn’t useful to have friends. Welp
Just talking to them also gives friendship points! So if ya have nothing, just talk to them.
Its a little bit of a hassle but if you’re heading up their way, i would just say hi anyway.
lol that is a good excuse somebody could use for not having friends: "yeah I didnt think it was useful to have friends"
Lol I got married year one. She pretty much gives me free food every couple days, so itsworth it .
There was another update, there are now negative consequences for dating all of the singles in town (giving them bouquets). There are now cutscenes in which the men gather in the saloon, the women in Emily and Haley’s house, and they all dump/hate you afterwards

Hope you are doing better :c♡
Here's a good tip about silos: You can remove the hay from one by clicking the hay dispenser next to an empty feeding trough. Then put the hay into a chest. Then your silo is empty so you can scythe more hay to refill it. You can hold thousands of hay in one chest, but only a couple hundred in a silo. This way you can gather as much hay as you want, but only ever need to build one silo, and all your animals will be well fed all the time. You can refill the silo from stacks of hay in the chest any time by clicking the hay dispenser again with a stack of hay in your hand.
I can't take hay from the deluxe barn though. Since it has an auto feeder :(

One counterpoint: at least one bundle requires gold star crops. Make sure to check before you sell, especially in spring!
yes, the Quality crops bundle requires 3 sets of 5 gold star crops. you can pick 3 from parsnips, melons, corn and pumpkin. so the best thing to do is save up to 5 gold star parsnips first spring, then 5 gold star melons first summer, and also plant some corn in your first summer. if you get 5 gold star corn before you get 5 gold star pumpkins, you're set
That's what I've been doing now, saving the gold star crops for the bundle cause before I kept screwing myself over forgetting and selling them all... -.-
Another tip:
During the fair in the chance minigame with the two colours, ALWAYS pick green. It almost always wins.

I just started Stardew Valley without knowing anything and already made TONS of mistakes. 1. I didn’t know scythes could cut those squares of grass things that give you fiber. 2. I accidentally sold my starter seeds. 3. I lost my bamboo pole. And probably more. I might just start a new game and take what you said lol.
holy smokes how did you manage to survive this long? lmao i just started playing like a week ago and i'm #addicted
Jajajajjaja I also sold my starter seeds, thought I was the only one
I learned some tips thanks to my gf, she is a veteran.
Over time my strat for year one was:
Day one invest in your crops, read wich keep giving or need to plant again and how much time they take to grow, my mistake is that i only bought two types instead of all, i put the crops on 3x3 tiles the one in the middle for a sprinkler, also there's a fertilizer that keeps some crops wet to the next day, this saves time and energy.
For the star drop in the fair I just did the fishing game forever

Another great tip is harvesting and storing all the peppers as well as cheese and making Pepper Poppers. Eating one dish give you about 7-8 minutes of speed (in real time) which mean if you're going mining, you can mine a lot of levels quickly
Actually it's possible to win the Grange display in the first year, you just gotta plan out your 9 items before fall. Generally you should put in gold quality crops and vary your items like minerals, cooking, etc. The wiki has a list of point values for every item and even has a link for a grange display calculator.
I just started playing recently and won my first fair by having 9 different items all with gold stars
I recently won the event first year (first time playing) because i had a lot of Purple quality fish. Upgrading the rod early is the most remunerative thing i could have done
Bruh i won the grange fair on my first playthrough and i got 97 out of 99
@@manuelredgrave8348 Yeah if you fish pretty regularly in the first year you'll improve your fishing level very quickly. I'm level seven now and it's only fall of the first year.

I just planted a ton of starfruit...totally going to save the fruit for my kegs now. =) thank you for the advice.
i also have ancient seeds starfruit and hops all year long in my green house after the hops matures they will give you a new harvest every day. if you got enough kegs to keep up with them they also give a nice amount of money
Natasja Kammerman : Ancient fruit is great though 1.1 nerfed it. Honestly, Ape should nerf Starfruit. Nearly 5 grand a bottle of unaged wine is a bit much. Makes money meaningless and almost feels like cheating haha
Well atleast you can buy those shiny new upgrades for your farm with that, including those amazing permanent warp totems. Lucky you! :O
There's better min-maxing methods out there. My recommendation is just play however you want and not rush the clock. Makes it much less enjoyable if you try to rush things on the first playthrough. And you can develop most of your own min-maxing techniques after your own first playthrough.

paytonisdying hahaha fair enough, gonna go find a clip of that
If you have a rabbit foot with you when you trigger the cut scene, you can avoid the penalty.
I gave a bouquet to every bachelor and bachelorette but I haven't encountered any cut scene
Hate that game in the fair. lol

I needless to say, the mayor found the soup to be missing something that year.

you can also fish fishes
Tip, if you want to upgrade your watering can, but never get rainy days, you can ask robin to make a cabin for you. They are usually used to enable multiplayer, but in the cabin there is a drawer that you can open ( if there isn’t another player on your save file at that time) and there is another set of tools, including a watering can. You can also just set up the save file to immediately have cabins instead of having to pay for them. I generally find this useful for all the other tools too.
I didn't know you could put ores into your inventory singularly and have it count towards the quests. I always went mining again to get fresh ones! Useful advice there.

If you are a bit experienced at fishing, you can also get a lot of tokens from that for just a bit of money.
+Peter Schulze i make 2500 per day fishing, i dont understand why some people find this hard
+Peter Schulze
I didn't realize that the showcase of your wares would let you stay at the festival afterwards, so I fished and got all the points to buy every reward BEFORE putting my items in. That sucked lol

A crucial tip to place your coop and barn (things with animals) really close to your house, because putting them further away will take MANY minutes of your time every day that you could easely use to do more useful things
(Also, before visiting Robin to construct a farm building, make sure you got did of all the stones and grass-patches in the area, because there's nothing more frustrating than visiting Robin, only to realize that you can't place your construction in the place where you want it

holy shit that's where that forest people keep talking about is? I thought they just meant the wide open space between marnie and the wizard
The secret forest maybe. Wiki it. You need a gold Axe and to chop the stump to the north of wizard
Steel, not gold
Its called the secret forest, it has 6 tree stumps and youll need a steel axe to get there. Slimes spawn there so bring a weapon. It has rare items depending on the seasons growing around. The pond also has a few special fish.

In all serious though one of your videos was recommended to me and your voice is soothing :). This game looks really fun like that game Animal Crossing kind of, and I played that for a long time collecting all the junk in it (the original one on Game Cube). So I think I might give this a try now. Thanks for showing it!
+Mmrrggll Gaming Oh man I love Animal Crossing too. :p You'll probably like a game like this too then though! o/
Yep I'm playing it right now, gotta get the hang of it but enjoying it greatly atm.
I still refuse to give Joja money though.
had no problem getting the first place at my first year tough even without these tips
+vhirvela Yeah, I got 96 points my first year and came first with stuff that I was already growing/making anyway.
I won 1st place my first year. I had the wiki to help though
I did as well.
But for the most part if you have a Gold Pumpkin, a Gold Cranberry, and a Gold Mayonnaise (from a large egg), and you just put one item each from the other item categories(Fish, Mineral, Forage, Fruit, etc) in there, your going to win.
I got a gold for as many categories as I could, and still won second place. I was bitter, oh so bitter.
Winter just in general is a pretty good time to upgrade/mine/explor and all that, since you aren't wasting energy on crops :)
Starred gifts do give extra friendship points. Silver adds a 10% modifier, Gold 25% and Iridium a massive 50%. So an Iridium star + Loved + Birthday can give a jaw dropping +960 friendship points.
Not at the time of uploading.
And thus I am providing correct information on an outdated video should someone watch it and not know better
Noted, however as other commenters have done it would be better if you added "as of the recent patch" or something to that effect to your comment for clarification.
My statement is 100% correct thanks. Edit your video and correct the misinformation you are sharing though, that would be better.
There is an annotation.
Did I not see that the first time? lol I was even looking for it...
And gives extra points in te Fair :v
Thanks, your tricks are really helpful! I've just started playing Stardew Valley on my Switch and now I can't stop 😅
I love your voice, it's so relaxing.
Well, there is a steam achievement where you need to buy the Joja membership but yeah, other than to complete that achievement screw Joja.
+Mini Manta Save, buy membership, celebrate achievement, reload.
+Brian Stamper you have to buy everything, which takes 6 days, so unless you go to the file where your character is saved made a copy of it, bought all the joja upgrades then deleted it and moved your old one back it's not possible
+Brian Stamper (can't do multiple upgrades in one day)
Buy it and restart?
+Ahmet Fatih Usta Just start another save file.
this is a very old video, but i'm planning to start stardew valley after i graduate from my bachelor's degree in two months' time. so glad to find this video because it's so helpful! and i love how calming your voice is. adding this into my liked videos so i can go back to it whenever. thank youu.
Her voice is pleasant. I could listen to this for some ASMR triggers I bet.
Johnny Brown
thanks man, that vid is right up my alley. She got a sub.
Sumd3vil Scribble Kibble (Crowne Prince) is similar. She has a beautiful voice and is really encouraging.
LOL. Sleep Well.
I think the exact opposite :/ I can’t stand her voice/accent and the way she emphasises certain syllables and sounds. Just goes to show the different way people interpret the same thing.
David Damien I was gonna say that this video lost all credibility when I heard a female voice...
Thanks! This video was really helpful.
Fun Fact: until the end of 1st year's spring, I hadn't realised that I could put vegetables and things I earned in the wooden box Next ti my house to sell them :P
Ragnarox Because you didn't read what the Mayor said lol
ApRiL3706 TBH, no, i didn't
TakelWolf why not?
AssaultedPeanutt because I skipped it
TakelWolf yea but why is what I'm asking
Personally, I wouldn't get the 32 bag upgrade until you really need it. I only needed it near the middle of fall, so I didn't waste 10,000 gold which was hard to get early game.
Hey! Neat video. I found a little trick myself, so Imma put that here. Did you know you can leave chests in various places around town? I put a chest next to my fishing hole so I literally cannot run out of inventory space. As far as I can tell (about 6 in game days) nothing is ever stolen out of them so it can be super useful.
I totally forgot about that one! Super useful as well. o/
GET OUT OF THERE. DO NOT SAVE. ABORT MISSION. ABORT. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. I REPEAT THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
Ahhh, memories. This video was the first one I ever saw. It's greay to hear how far they've come and how much they've improved over the years.
Plus, they sound absolutely *adorable*
I wish I knew earlier that I can change the game's language
Willi Wildfang SODA
indoor and clock still running xD
this make me crazy xD
I was unknowingly an overachiever during the Stardew Valley during my first playthrough. I saved the Showcase till the end, but wanted the stardrop for 2k points. So I grinded fishing till I get 2k points. Then somehow won first place later. With a total of 3k I bought the Stardrop, the fedora plus other junks. Best day ever.
I'm getting this game on my switch today
SO EXCITED
i can imagine how fun it would play on a switch
Just got it myself
I got it a week ago on my switch, please send help.
I just bought this game a few hours ago cuz I thought it would be simple and relaxing but it's a lot more complex than I thought it would be 😳
BTW, if you have seen all 10-heart events with either the boys or the girls, there is a scene where they ALL dump you in one spot (unless you have a rabbits foot in your inventory when you walk into haleys/emilys house or the saloon) These events can only happen once per savefile
you forgot to mention that you also lose a random assortment of items from your inventory if you are KOd
+Alexander The Insane Yeah the footage I showed does say it but I did forget to actually say it myself, bit of a silly mistake. ^^;
+Proper Bird how do you get the white horse? my horse is brown. Is it luck based?
I believe it's a rapidash mod
+Proper Bird
And that's probably one of the worst parts too because once my only sword was taken along with the iridium that I had just found.
+jacky yang It's one of the pokémon mods you can find here: community.playstarbound.com/threads/pok%C3%A9dew-valley-pok%C3%A9mon-retextures.108431/
There's a ton of other textures too! ^^
Thank goodness this was recommended to me while I was searching for guides. I just started yesterday and I'm already at summer.
