To this day, this album still amazes me and nothing has come close to it. Experimental you can say, it pushes boundaries, exemplifying balance, textures to perfect melody and harmony. These sounds as a whole evokes feelings that are unique to this album. I still keep coming back to this music because it still raises the hairs on my spine. Thank you!
That last track though, 'A Faded Memory' @ 51:09 that song just reaches into the soul and washes over you with emotion, bringing out the tears. Bayer is just incredible. I think that one was an iTunes exclusive too when the album came out.
What a masterpiece! Andrew Bayer has made many electronic tracks, but his artist albums are where he truly shines. This album is very unique like no other, he does not just make melodies and sounds, he constructs entire soundscapes and atmospheres. From the opening track "Nexus 6", you can hear the elements of calm and chaos masterfully intertwined in a way that only Andrew Bayer can. My favourite track is "A Drink for Calamity Jane", it's a wonderful progressive track which I find hard to describe with words. After this album came "If it were you, we'd never leave" which was more refined and matured, but to me lacked the wonderful progressive sounds and coherence of the first.
*Made while in college at Berkley, CA, inspired by Deadmau5's underground 2008 masterpiece album and the movie Blade Runner!* *Andrew Bayer truly has a vein of genius in him, and i wish today in 2020's he'd raise the bar for himself and go hardcore with making new innovative music to change the world of music once again!* *And where tf did Paul Keeley go??? Does he know he was also a musical genius?*
It was on a hot summer night when I couldn't sleep that I was listening to TATW episode 383. The stuck in the box tune was Saltwater by Chicane. After that, the guestmix started: "Well, you know what, nobody cares about your stupid beat farm" ... "You should grow candy!" Then Brick kicked in in such an awesome way that I was even more awake than I was before. Since then I replayed this episode of TATW probably more than 100 times. 383
Still listening now. I need AB to make an album like this again, honestly not a fan of the new stuff. Few good songs on the new stuff, but this whole album is beautiful.
6 years old today. Enjoy!

Breakfast's remix of "From The Earth" was the last trance track released on Anjuna.
Breakfast's remix is waaay more trancy.
Nice joke

Reminds me of Hypnotised from Oakenfold
Why don't you grow something that everybody does like? You should grow candy. I'd love a piece of candy right now. Not a beet.
