One of the best ways to energise your bass line is totally counterintuitive. You’d think we would need to add something in order to add energy, but, arguably the best way to add energy is actually to subtract notes. Yep, a couple of well-placed rests (especially 1/16 rests) will breathe new life into your bass lines. And, how easy is it to delete a couple of notes?

@@HackMusicTheory I‘m always near, when there’s new stuff to learn from you guys. I’m fine. Hope you too! With the small kids there’s no time for me to make music and with f*** Covid-19 here in Germany the occasions to play live and earn money are rare too. but both things are about to become more relaxed soon, I guess and then I’m back on track 😂👍

@@HackMusicTheory The music I make is usually called crap... but I'm still working on it lol.
Thanks for your insights! You guys really condense some theory into practical applications and it's very appreciated.
Also the bass line reminded me of "The hand that feeds you."

"The Hand That Feeds"... What a tune!!! I just put it on. Thanks for the inspiration! We're super happy to hear that you're able to apply what you're learning in our videos to your music. That's exactly why we do this! If you can't instantly use the theory to improve your music, then what's the point of learning it, right? Thanks again for connecting, it's lovely to meet you, and we hope to see you back here on the next video :)

Hi Jost, great to see you, we hope this finds you well! Thanks for your feedback, we recognize that this format might not satisfy everyone, however, we want to be as helpful to the community as possible, which means publishing more videos. Our usual lessons are very time consuming to make, so in between publishing those longer lessons we will be publishing more of these shorts to keep people inspired. So perhaps you can just skip the shorts?! Thanks again for being here in the Hack Music Theory community, Jost, we truly value you. Wishing you a lovely weekend :)
