This drama really pulled me in from the first ep i just cudnt stop watching 💕. I must say that Cui Xi is the perfect wife but she also has masculine traits that can make her husband insecure but its also his fault too! He’s lacking within himself to lead as the man of the family tbh! See how she handles all those books w the accounts with such ease compared to when she sent it to him after their squabble! He hardly paid any mind to it but instead pushed the responsibility unto others ! No matter what, without Cui Xi the family wud not be standing still! I admire her ability to keep her composure, her calculations and her ability to think fast in tense situations! He may complain abt her or find fault in her but truth be told that other lady is not suited to be the First Madam! Look at the way she extravagantly spends money and she’s not even his official concubine as yet, she’s also an ex convict with a background such as hers she has no sense of properity in terms of keeping a low profile! When she was caught i wasn’t surprised that she wud (i) actually try to leave and (ii) that he wud easily forgive her! Just like wat Cui Xi said ‘is she really a soft woman.. is it really for old times sake’? He needs to ponder on these things n stop thinking so simply! However as another commenter said ; as long as Cui Xi does not have his heart she wud nvr be as good as the other lady! This is so interesting cant wait for the next eps!
No matter how smart, beautiful and caring the first wife is (putting family reputation, household and family business first) a man will always go back to his favorite Fox, she will bewitch him with all sweet ballads and he will forget all her past mistakes and disloyalty just in a snap of a song!

Chinese audience doubted this production team really killed a cat for a unnecessary scene in episode 32 yesterday. So far, the production team cannot provide any solid evidence to prove they did not kill the cat. The proof they provided did not persuade the Chinese netizens. 1. Netizens caught the production team photoshopped the cat dying scene, wanted to pretend the cat was still alive. 2. They found a so called "cat owner" but the cat she showed was another cat because eye colors are totally different. She can not even show the cat's photos directly from her mobile not reveal where the cat is right now. All she said is the cat hasn't at home for several days.
I don’t understand why she never told him she was pregnant until she got caught escaping with all the valuables? A child would more than secure her position in the family and a life of luxury.
@@IConquer right! Like a birds warbling. It’s very startling to hear at first to me but the more I watch Asian shows, the more I appreciate the vocal agility and control of the rises and falls. Especially coupled with the fact that you’re not supposed to open your mouth wide while still singing loudly. It’s truly a feat.
