I'm from Brazil, I've only been in the US for 6 years and my American husband says I don't have a thick accent like her. I swear to God I don't try to sound American or lose my Brazilian accent, it just comes naturally to me, maybe because I don't speak jn Portuguese for most of the time and unfortunately I have no Brazilian friends or family near me. I go months without speaking in Portuguese sometimes. And of course I have an accent, but it's not as thick as Gisele's or Anitta's, for example.
