Imagine being a alive for so long only to end up becoming a scammer, only to have a baby doubting your method lmao.
Then imagine it being so successful that you end up being rich becuse of it...
It`s a miracle that scamer understood her elite language
Then imagine that baby being more successful than that scammer will ever be at life.
@CJODell12 idk is being scammed by a big Corp better then being the scammer
Elite baby tho.
The classic “don’t hang up your phone” and “buy a bunch of gift cards” scam xD
It’s a good thing Miko was an *Elite baby* and not a normal baby, otherwise she would’ve actually fallen for it ww
Cringe🤮
@@m.s.a8007 Pay your taxes.
This particular scam is very notorious in Japan. In certain convenience store chains (at least in my local FamilyMart), among other gibberishes broadcasted within the store, the warnings about this scam is also repeatedly announced ("a phone call demanding you to buy prepaid cards is scam!").
I’ve never encountered this one. Although I had plenty of people call me about my Cars Warranty inspite of the fact that at the time I didn’t even own a car
I still don’t understand what good an iTunes gift card or a whatever kind of gift card is going to be for the scammer. You can only use a gift card for a specific service. You can’t get cash for it right?
Scammer: If you don't pay up, it'll affect your credit.
Miko: Okay.
Scammer: **Hangs up** Was... was that a _talking baby?_
And worse, that scammer was going to scam a baby! Truly, some people have no morals.
Boss Baby 2: Trials of the Elite™
It's...worrying...that Miko took so long to realize it's a scam
Or that's just the ELITE way to handle scammers
To be fair to the ELITE baby, she realized relatively quickly something was off and started to investigate whether she was being scammed.
Pretending is only part of the fun 👹
Everyone's got scams they aren't aware of and when you are susceptible to pressure and self doubt, it takes you a lot longer to realize when you're being fooled.
I think she figured it out reasonably quickly. And she did have a feeling something was off very early on.
I mean she probably gets more business calls, payments recuests and contracts calls, than most people, so i guess its easier for her to get confused about it.
I love how polite she is, even after discovering it was a scam.
Legit. I'm so surprised but i guess it makes sense since miko is quite timid at heart. Was kinda hoping she woulda ended the call with a "URUSE BAAAAKAAAA!!!" 😂
She couldve said Fqu gta5 style
I can imagine a smug rabbit yelling at the phone after asking "can you put your ear in the phone so i can whisper it to you."
Kobo would give the scammer an exclusive ASMR service, cleaning his ears, along with everything in it😂@@sussydogwithcheese
He's lucky this exchange happened when Miko was in Japan. Los Santos Miko wouldn't be as forgiving.
A lot of people still seem to be unaware of this kind of scam. Just a hint for anyone here: if a company/the government/literally anyone ever asks you to pay them with itunes, google play or whatever other gift card, it's 100% a scam.
Plenty of scammers will ask you to make the transaction through your bank, so that is not a reliable way to tell if it's legit either! A real company or government will also always give you the time to work out a payment plan and not pressure you to pay immediately.
@@viking-astronaut gift cards are just the 100% telltale that it's a scam... other scams exist
Scammers in my country usually asked for direct money transfer to their bank account because inept police & bank saying it's your own fault. So scammers didn't even try to hide their track because they feel safe at how incompetent the police and bank is.
Heck, gambling is also considered a big crime here and online gambling actually publicly published their bank account number if you want to top up (yeah still manual system). With such an easy lead the police would do something by tracking that account number, right? The same account is still up and running for years till this day lol. It's no secret the bosses behind any online gambling paid police to turn blind eye lol.
FYI, catching gambling ring is considered a major achievement and guaranteed fast track for promotion. So the amount of bribe is clearly bigger than any police can hope to make when they reach higher position.
@@Meoniumin indonesia you can basically buy a real bank account for less than 100usd 🤷, anything happen throw it to the one whose name on it
@@Arkesant In Korea, the bank account must be linked with the national ID information, and creating a new one is really a pain in your ass. It was a corollary of the "democratization process", originally aimed to reveal the hidden accounts of corrupt politicians for bribery. But in Korea, frauds and scams are still rampant, because the criminals already found ways to cope this system (one of the most simple loophole is, finding someone desperate enough to participate the scam as a scapegoat).
Girl pulled out the memo to know the math was off
Truly, sasuga Miko
This type of scam only works on old people who are not familiar with technology. I mean even Miko can dodge it after she googled a line.
The only effective way to handle scammer is to waste their time so that they don't have time to scam others. Miko some how successfully did that.
The fact she had to Google it... Truly elite
@@ShiraKonan The target for those scams are older housewives and the elderly, people who are out of touch with modern common sense and are likely to be tech illiterate and alone in the house at those hours. Miko needing to Google an immediately obvious scam at all is kinda sad, she was completely onboard with the logic of needing to buy an iTunes giftcard charged with an exorbitant amount of cash until she was told she can't call back if she hangs up.
@@ShiraKonanAsking for payment in apple 🍏 card is suspicious af. Scammers here usually asked for direct money transfer to their bank account. What if you reported it to bank & police after you sent the money? Bank here cannot do anything and it's your own fault. Police would even just laugh and tell you to forget it. What a shitty country where scammers didn't even try to hide their track.
Tbf to Miko it seems like she was pretty on the ball here. She can be a bit ditzy but she's not a dumbdumb.
Miko not baka, Miko PON!
"This is a courtesy call to let you know that your humidifier is out of water."
"Suspicious! I don't believe you!"
almost got scammed myself. usually they pressure you so hard that you cant think straight and they tell you to not talk to anyone else. stay safe people.
MIKOOOO DO NOT REDEEEEEEEM
We're so proud. Our little baby is growing up.
i remembered once they called me, and tell me; "you didnt pay tax for this year or else will will forward it to police".. then i tell them; "bruh, i'm still at school"... sudden hang up~ lol
....My dad lost a lot of money to this scam and yet Miko of all holomen was able to see its a scam lol
This kind of scams won't work for me, 'cause I'm too lazy to go out.
"You want me to go out to solve this problem? You tell the problem to come to me instead, Okay? It's cold outside."
0:24 みこちの必死な表情が可愛過ぎる❤。
Never once questioned what the 1 year of fees was from. Our Miko is a lovely flower that must be cared for.
Jeez those type of scammers are even in Japan huh. Global.
Thankfully the scammer didn't know who they tried to scammed is very famous worldwide vtuber, one of the highest CCV female streamer.
You know... I often think.. Aliens have been here for centuries. They've just been scamming us and having a good laugh about it. 😅
Be like Sakura Miko, and don't fall for scams, everyone! Happy New Year! (^o^) Thank you for these amazing animations as always, Mochimiko!!!!
So the baby has become smarter. Yeah i know guys, they grow so fast :")
I've seen this kind of scam from TH-cam videos about scam callcenters. Yep, same tactics that scammers used.
I was a security trooper in an airbase
There this scammer who called my platoon officer.
Same thing as miko, paying with iTunes card, he went to armoury, load a bullet in a chamber of the pistol, ask a armorer Sgt to fake crying and stuff
The officer ask the scammer to hold on, shoot the pistol into the red box got safety checks
The scammer literally beg for forgiveness and hang out
As much as it’s ridiculous method to scam people, elder people still fell for it sadly
He said 400k yen😂 maybe she would have fallen for that scam if he said 20 or 30k yen
Bested by a baby
Poor guy, should have spec a bit into his speech. He couldn't even scam Mikochi properly...
Well Mikochi played GTA, guess she learned something xD
Mikochi should sue them back, better call -Phoenix- Saul!
you art is beautiful
Seriously. I wish I had a chibi Miko in my life 24/7. All my worries would vanish away.
The thing about this type of scam is that it self-selects people who are gullible enough to fall for it DESPITE how many red flags there are in the transaction. Sort of like microtransactions in games looking for whales instead of picking reasonable prices that the normal customer would be okay with.
400k¥ is literally suspicious. Could have just go with more believable amount like 50k or something..
The worst is that too many gullible people fell for it.
Same thing with the emails telling you to pay just 10 cents in fees so that you can get "your package that is held at the post office."
I'm so proud of her for not falling for it
even the scammers looked like Phantom Thieves
"The monthly fee has not been paid"
Baby Miko forgets about her blackmailers.
Then imagine the scammer watch her stream and can relate the experiance same to one of his target scam
Plot twist the caller is Fubuki trying to make Miko pay her gacha
How can they scam a child!
To think people would try to scam babies this day and age. What is this world coming to??
It never occurred to me that this run of the mill scam happens over at the JP side as well. Glad Miko didn't fall for it.
Wow. Miko finally got those scam calls? I've been getting them for years. Glad she didn't fall for it.
just dont answer unknown number calls kiddos, or use number tracker like get contact so u could know anyone who call you and their reputation
Please elaborate
yep, this is the right move
Scammers frequently use number spoofing, which makes it look like a credible call. Even if you screen your calls, you're not safe.
I would know whether its a scam or not, because I hardly buy or deal with anything that has a subscription service. I stick to the free or pay upfront options. If they mention anything on the call that I dont recognize, immediate scam.
Miko might be pon. But that does not mean she is dumb.
One thing I don't get about these things is, do people not ask what the fee is for? If you owe a monthly fee, then it has to be for something, right? So what's the service?
Why wouldn't you ask that the moment someone calls you saying you owe a fee? That would be my immediate question before asking anything else.
Even if hypothetically there is a legitimate fee for something if you never ordered that service then it could be someone with your card information testing if the card works.
You could actually counter sue if it wasn't a scam.
Yes, they can fine you a lot of you pay late, but they have to send notices. If they don't for a whole year, that's clearly on purpose
These scammers even have a legit office/call center front and scams behind the scenes.
This is truly worrying that it took her so long to figure out its a scam. She didn't even ask for what the fee would had been.
She really needs a caretaker.
If Miko is able to see through the scam then that scammer must be REALLY stupid
Hey you are doubting the Elite baby that Miko is
That's usualy on purpose
Making the scam easy to detect is actually a tactic of the scammers. This way the people that STILL fall for it are the ones that are least likely to figure it out in hindsight and even if they do the least likely to know what to do about it, therefore making the scammers safest. Since the cost of each call is near zero, it doesn't matter that only a very small fraction of people fall for it.
I'd imagine that old people fall for this kind of stuff. Plus, the scammers don't really need a high success rate. They usually live in crappy countries where the average monthly salary is like $400. So as long as he manages to trick like two old people per month, he's pretty much set.
it's kind of hilarious how polite both miko AND the scammer were and that they actually brought the call to an end
"we'd like to scam you"
"no thanks"
"are you sure?"
"yeah"
"ok, goodbye"
"thank you, goodbye"
XD
Do people in japan not ask what the scam is about? They’re just told there’s a payment and that’s that?
Mikocho pls!
Thank god she didn't fall for it. 😂
Remember to always before careful of scams regardless of who you are or where you live. Still this video was Cute and ADORABLE and ELITE! Great Job and also Thank You for the English Subtitles too! :)
Cute baby
You can't fool the elite. 😂
as a weird hermit i have lots of spare time. cause of this i like to mess with scammers. figures more time they are entertaining me its less time they are stealing from old ladies. or in this case babies
I would call police and let them negotiate lol
Happy New Year Mochimiko-sensei! Thank for the fun animations you create through out the year. Lokking forward to more of your work 😁.
..This is kind of a joke but you won't believe that this actually works with a lot of elderly people. The government even if with the latest technology finds it hard to track this scammers.
Always be careful
Thank you for the hard work you put in by making these animations, Mr. Mochimiko!
Miko legit sounds like a person that would fall into old phishing scams, the one who goes "Hey, we are from your bank, please enter the link and update your info"
Elite baby
I'm glad Miko put all the Amongus training to use and sus'd out the bad fella
Truly an elite level of deduction
That scammer has the luck to call Miko that say goodbye with a polite behaivor, because if was Suisei or Iroha... That scammer would be in danger.
ELITE!
Believe it or not, there’s people who fall for those things. Mikochi did good in sus and research about it!
there are people out that are on a mission to waste as much time as possible so they would "go" to a store and then say that they where out of cards or had none next one too etc. until the scammers give up :D
Happy New Years Mochimiko. Thank You for all your generous animations this year. They are truly cute and beautiful and I'm so happy I can watch them.
I got the exact same call literally 1 to 1
Scammer made a priceless scam call and he will never know it. Lol
I know boomers with double phd who fell for this scam, so this is another sign of how truely elite mikochi is.
The anger I feel towards scammers is such that I had to delete paragraphs from this several times because it was too graphic. I think they are truly despicable. I think all the worst possible things about them but don't feel like this is the right place to go into full detail.
What i hate most is when people acting as if the victims (usually older folk who tend to be less tech savvy) deserve to he scammed.
"ThEy sHouLd haVe rEaLisEd it's A sCaM"
What kind of stupid logic these people have.
The scammers almost got away with it. Well, at least she did google it.
DO NOT RIDIIMMMMM
probably some indian on the other line
That's so 90s.
You need knowledge to identify a scam which Miko unfortunately didn't have. However, i'll give credit for her to not panic and checked google before doing what the callers wanted her to do.
I once had a scam like this but different topics. The unknown caller said "Hey, i'm your friend. Remember me?" I firmly said NO and the caller got angry. Then i said "You are calling me with an unknown number. Identify yourself." He got angry without identifying anything and drop the phone and i never heard that caller again. Turns out it's a scam in which the caller pretending to be your friend and asking you to send money.
Also, if you think you didn't do anything wrong, then be brave. On Miko case, if you don't have any loan then don't panic. Confirm it and be brave to break the conversation. Of course breaking by saying "I don't have any loan, fucker" and "Excuse me, i don't have any loan" is different. Be polite but stern.
There has to be a way to track these people down and pay them in person.
my uncle almost fell to scam too. the scam told my uncle to pay some money because he was cought on camera didn't wear a helmet when drived bike or they will bring a police to his home. luckly, in the end of talk my uncle think this is a scam so he challange the scam to bring the police and they turn off the call. the police never come but the scam tried to call again as someone else that called my uncle "boss". my uncle just laugh at first call and close the phone call
The best thing you do to a scammer is waste their time. Miko did exactly that 🤣
I was once hit with a fishing scam mail that basically said "you are under legal lawsuit, here is a form to fill with your data". And i was like, im no legal expert but:
1. lawsuits are not made by the goddamn gorvernment unless you have worked for them, i have not.
2. even if it was from the government, the mailing would had be formal with banners, contact phone numbers, links and the signature of the government official that contacted you.
3. On the same line, why the fuck would the government sue me and ask me to fill a web document asking for my data? Arent they supposed to know that already?
It was already quite the piss poor low efford scam but just to be sure i went to the actual governement web page of legal procedures, checked if i had one in my city and nationwide and surpirse to no one, i had not. Denounced the mail as fraud, made sure to block it and kept going with my day.
Scams are often low effort on purpose to filter out people who will end up noticing the scam anyway, and only spend time on gullible people.
"Hello, I am Takumi-san. I am calling about your late payments," he said with a thick Indian accent.
It’s a pity that Miko didn’t go full Kitboga on that scammer.
miko's amazing.
Kindly do the needful and DO NOT REDEEM!
Elite scam detection. I'm glad Miko realized what was going on... eventually.
I'm actually surprised that this level of scam still exists in Japan 😅
It's actually surprisingly common basically everywhere in the world and weirdly a lot of people still fall for this junk.
@@SeraphimKnight Not that weird, scammers prey on the vulnerable and elderly, knowing that insecure people will shame them into silence. Makes you wonder just how many scams go unreported.
@@SeraphimKnight yeap, I recall watching other YT contents about how scam works and it really pains me that a lot of people are still falling for it. Scammers must pay for their sins!
japan has a lot of old people, so not that surprising
This scam works better on old people that are unfamiliar with new technology.
Japan has one of the highest populations of old retired people (so much so that the goverment is worried it will really affect the economy on following years).
And so its a very likely chance that if you call enough numbers in Japan an old person will pick up and fall for it. That is why this type of scam is still commonplace in Japan.
1st animation in the new year, and it's about Sakura Miko nearly get scammed XD
Never thought Japan too have this kind of scam, thought only in my country :3
standard phone scam involving buying gift cards
"we need you to pay us in amazon gift cards"
yeah no.
Marine got hit with this same scam a while ago. Except they actually got her walking to the store to buy the card before her manager stopped her. 😭
Gotta wonder if this was a native Japanese guy or someone who learned Japanese.
Scammers are scum. But what i hate more is the fact that there are people who blame victims. "Lol u stupid u deserve to be scammed". Wtf is wrong with them.
Sasuga Elite Miko-sama
Imao, Miko take time speak with scammer with mean time waste no money worth
Typical scammer. 😂
1000 yen per month so its "20000" yen in a year but scammer told her "400k" yen.. thank god she didn't get scam with her elite math..
