I think what Naruto did great is that he was the ultimate underdog and I think that his development was one of the best parts of the show Boruto on the other hand he basically has a shit ton of abilities and completely new dojitsu at the start also the villains are nowhere near as great as madara,pain etc. (Personal opinion)
