Love love love your hydrangea! Do you mind sharing what spacing you used to plant the Annabelle? And the spacing between hakone grasses, and between Jack Frost? Thanks!!

I drove through a hard rain storm like that last night! Was crazy how much rain came down.

We have a daughter called Annabel, so of course we have to have Hdrangea Annabelle! I chop mine back v hard in late winter and also give them a Chelsea chop in May. Most of them grow in sun, but we are on clay soil so there is quite a bit of moisture. None of them are staked , but they seem to be fine with this sort of pruning treatment.

I have 17 Anabelles, one is a strong Anabelle. All of them are staked and I see absolutely no difference between them. We have clay soil and they all grow in more or less semi shade.

Great video Marta! Thanks so much for the information on these hydrangeas! Question…will you be doing a video soon on all the various types of salvia that you have in your garden? Would love to see that. 😊And…I just picked up a salvia May Night at my local garden center today and am so excited to see how it does. Thanks for the inspiration!! I recalled you saying it is one of your favorite salvias. I plan on planting it in a large container along with a Tutti Frutti Apricot Delight yarrow with beautiful salmon, apricot and pink flowers! Happy gardening! 🌿👒🪴

We abs love your garden and your videos, Marta! When you say "strong" Annabelle's I'm wondering if you are referring to Incredibal hydrangea (?) which is the new improved version...?

I do not have Annabelles. I have Little Lime hydrangeas (the dwarf version of Limelight). Below my little lime hydrangeas I have a drift of creeping phlox.

If they shrivel it’s a sign they need more water.

Thank you …this is the video I’ve been waiting for 😍🇦🇺👍🫶❤️👌🙏
I have the classic Annabelle and last year I used bamboo sticks to stake every flower and used garden clips along the stems and that kept them upright during the wet weather.
    This worked for me.
I also tried to replicate your border and under planted with Brunerra and Hakonechloa.

I too have Brunnera 'Silver heart' and 'All Gold' Hakonechloa under my Strong Annabelle hedge! Also have 'Burgundy Lace' japanese painted ferns, and 'Wild Rose' Heuchera. Wanted something purple. The japanese painted ferns have such a unique texture, love them near my hydrangeas.
Could you show us those fiberglass rods? Trying to find them or something similar, without success so far.
