I wish there were more Japanese developed arcade beat-em-ups based on late 80’s and early ‘90s Hollywood blockbusters. Can you imagine if Capcom, Irem or Konami made arcade brawlers of Back to the future 2, Who framed roger rabbit, Honey I shrunk the Kids, Aladdin or Jurassic park ? That would be awesome. We’d still be raving about those games to this day lol.
In case anyone is wondering about the slight choppiness, I believe this Irem arcade hardware (same/similar to In the Hunt and others) actually runs at 50-55fps instead of the usual silky smooth, common 60fps, so what you're seeing is NOT a side-effect of imperfect emulation. They use NEC CPUs (V20, V30, etc), which is also unusual for arcade games.
What a cool game man...and I've never heard of it until today. By the way...I was a Kid when Arcade came out...so I played a lot of this kind of game on Arcade, but never heard of this one...I'd enjoy playing it.
I had this game for my Super Nintendo growing up;I had know idea there was a arcade version.🎮🤔After watching this long play,I can say I like the Super Nintendo version better. On the SN Hook, you can fly around Neverland, and not have random repetitive encounters with Captain Hook.
Does AL82 use some tool in these walktroughs, play them multiple times and somehow edit only the best parts, play on easiest settings or something? He seems to be abnormally good in every single of these type of games.
This is when you combine “ Peter Pan “ with “ Final Fight “ , unique style but weird 👦🏻💪🏻👊🏻😂 . And , Peter Pan seem to be grow up as if he left Neverland for several years and come back later . 💫⭐️🌌 ( Finally , this boy grow up just like every kid in the world . 👦🏻🧑🏻👨🏻 )
Never know such a nice movie licenced game exist. One of the good beat'em up game. RIP Robin Williams
😔💐🙏🏻🕊
One of the best beat em ups ever made.

That Aladdin one sounds awesome. Getting to play as Aladdin, Jasmine, the Genie, or Rajah the tiger would be so much fun.
How did I never know about this retro arcade gem?? And score Rufio survived!
Can’t think of many beat em ups that let you control Robin Williams.
Aside from the Nintendo ones: "Super Awakenings" and "Jakob The Liar 64"
Lindo sprite de colores, nunca me imagine que Hook tenía su videojuego. Excelente!!!. Siempre me gustaron este tipo de arcade.
Irem never dissapoints with its games' soundtrack!
This will always be the best Hook game by a mile. Such a massive shame that home consoles got terrible platformers.
The only game based on the film I actually played was the point-and-click adventure on the Amiga...I need to go back to that at some point.
I have see the plataformer as a good id say, trough i dong get the fly controls.
The Sega CD version was pretty damn good, I thought. Especially the soundtrack.
1:22 Cute anime-style take of Tinkerbell, without having to make Tink look like Julia Roberts. :)
RIP Robin Williams. This was a great game for the "Hook" property.

Exactly how I remember the movie
Arcade games are so beautiful :-)
“Looky looky I got Hooky!”
Mr. Smeeeee, insert another coin, I have perished!
Is there a Jim Power aesthetic or it's only me?

Its was a IREM game before *ninja baseball batman* was created. omg
RIP Robin Williams
I haven't played this in years. Probably a decade at least.
Never knew an arcade excisted of Hook looks decent
merci bien man !!!
WHAT?! are they made in video games?!😲
Ah çocukluğum ah 😢

Thats a totally different game. This is a beatemup and SNES was an action-adventure game.
@@mkep10 Your right, but the Arcade brawler/beatemup is too unrealistic.I'm just saying I prefer the SNES version better in my opinion.
ah yes... a good old time when eating food from random barrels and garbage cans was what kept you alive ^^
"Bangarang." Peter Pan's "war cry". ;b
You know it kind of looks like super Nintendo game. Makes you wonder why we never say a home port of this🤔
kkkkkk peter andando , parece que esta com dor de barriga kkkkkkkkkk
They started with the film, but then went "Undercover Cops" vs Konami with it!
7:12. Peter Pan smacks dat ass
Ok....this Movie was converted in a Jump n Run, an adventure game like Lucas Arts on the PC and in an Arcade Beat em up! It could not be better!
I like your gameplays. And your comments. Interesting info.
My goodness I'm messing out on some movies based games that are good in arcade
This should've been released on Sega CD or some other system.
Jump then Jump + Action 🤭
Wow that's a lot of dithering for 1992 haha
31:00 Robin Williams?
Rufio, Rufio, Rooooo feeeeeee ooooooooo!!!
Nice game!
