Me. Been listening to this album since 1992 on and off, and for years I always said this sounds like Alan Rickman on this track. Only just found out it is!! DOH!! 😂😂 Superb song and voice.
Only a great master of Shakespearean accent , could make this song a true masterpiece . Of course, an actor of rare talent and skill . This song it's s so down to his Celtic roots, I close my eyes ..and imagine myself dancing in a wonderful giant , blue dress as a queen in his arms ... Beautiful dream. You'll always be missed Alan . 🙏🏼🌹❣️ #always
Rest in peace ... wonderfull man, actor, singer, regiseur and greatest love of my life.... Sorry for my bad englisch :-( I`m so sad, i cant beleve he never play or sing for us. Alan you always be in my heart ... ALWAYS !!!
I will always remember Alan Rickman as a wonderful actor, as an attractive man with a beautiful personality and as a strong man with heart, humour and passion.
I had Tubular Bells on order before it was available in the US. Got the first copy in town (it was meant for a radio station). Did not know it was Rickman's voice until today. Somebody mentioned something about him being on one of the Tubular Bells albums and it immediately clicked. Now I wonder how I didn't notice it before. (Rickman was not credited on the album). Songs of Distant Earth, sort of a "soundtrack" to Arthur C. Clarke's book, is my favorite Oldfield album. Read the book, then get the album.
Alan Rickman was a excellent actor from such excellent film's Harry Potter 1 - 8, die hard, the January man, Quigley down under, Robin Hood Prince of thieves, truly madly deeply, sense and sensibility, michael Collins, dogma, galaxy quest, love actually, Sweeney Todd the demon barber of fleet Street, Alice in wonderland and Alice looking through the Glass
This is the greatest video I've ever seen put to this music!! Fantastic! Some of this footage and these photos, I've never seen before!! Nice touch near the beginning when he's in Galaxy Quest and it looks like a black star rises out of the--I think it's a bowl--he's holding and he looks like he does a double-take! Genius! On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being perfect, I'd give it an 11! Cos it's beyond perfect! Excellent job! Wow!!

thx for uploading. So it took his dead to let me know that this fine actor and noble man was the "strolling Player" that the booklet mentioned. My deepest sympathy for his wife and family. It makes me so sad too, the I just realize through a lot of interviews that I watch know what a loss his death means.
It's true! How could I NOT comment! Do you know how many times this same song has been uploaded on YOuTube with a video?? I hope yours outlasts them all! Such a great tribute to Alan, and so skillfully done! Definitely stands out from the rest!
@@deadbydayinblack while I do agree that Alan is a better Master of Ceremonies than John Cleese is, I still think Cleese was definitely worthy of that title.
This video is great! And I love the song with Alan's voice!!!!! Took me all the air! I respect Rima Horton very much but I wanted this video only with Alan's images. Nothing against her, really.
Who is here in 2024 just to have the pleasure to listen to Alan's magnificent voice again?
