Out testing our new setup, but only managed 1 pass until we were kicked out of the track for trapping over 145mph without being teched. We will be back!

Who would've thought a 3cyl 1.6 would achieve this level of performance? - Congrats
@paulzeleny4879 it's got an insane 25-30 psi boost. Even a golf cart with that much boost would be pretty fast. NA the engine would be a joke. It's a combination of awd, lightweight and insane amounts of boost that make this thing fun to drive. And yes a 5 second launch to 62 is fun, it's not fast. Especially when this thing is built for short acceleration, not 1/4 acceleration.
25-30 psi is not an insane amount...many street driven cars run 20-35....amg45 runs 20+ from the factory & still meets factory durability stds...but is nowhere near 9 sec otherwise qtr

@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 Probably pretty much anything that’s running 6s or better in the 1/4 mile is north of 80. They’re running up around 2000hp and higher.
Search for the fastest 4 cylinder cars and you’ll find some.
Some stick shift examples are the Red Demon Talon, the Speed Factory Civic.
Jett Racing has a car on 110psi. They also previously had a car on 112psi.
Elmer Racing’s car too.
Carl Brunnet’s Napierville dragway car is even running a non-billet ecotec block.

That's the craziest thing to me. The car was well into the 9s, and it's clearly not even dialed in yet. They'll break that record in no time. Who knows when 8s are coming.

Yeah probably 1050-1100hp it's full caged big turbo big intercooler alot of added on weight.
@@lukemothug i agree, 700-800 whp in a car that light should do it. A Mclaren P1 runs 9.8 at 149 with 903 at the crank, probably around 840 at the wheels weighing 3,400 kerb, I would guess this GR is probably in the 2,600 lbs range, though I'm sure it has more drag than the P1.

Great achievement for what it is, but doesn't really prove anything other than you can go as fast as you want with anything if you have unlimited money. This is irrelevant for 99.99% of people and daily use scenarios.

Aside from being 3 cylinder it's a 1500cc engine...

@dacmm here in Australia there are multiple Yaris GRs running 400 plus wheel horsepower with stock rods and pistons... that's my point. It is a potent engine with great potential, every engine has its design flaws... your comment is missing the point.
The Rb26 vs 2JZ is another example of better potential. At above 500 hp the Rb can crack the block, the 2J can handle over 100hp more without an issue. Engineering still matters when money is involved.

My evo 8 was running high 9s at just under 140 mph. Weighed about 3000lbs. 600whp. This is doing the same time but at 156mph!!! Should be hitting or running close to 8s!
It was green at 1:01 but he waited for another 2 seconds before launching at 1:03

I drove my friends GR Corolla to 155MPH after I installed intercooler, downpipe, full exhaust, tune ECUTEC, and cold air intake. Scared to push it more without a clutch upgrade. Not to mention valve float.
