Oh my gosh, this is fabulous! I don't think it looks like too much at all. Especially once you have some giant sleeves on top, I think you'll look just perfect.
I love the pockets!!! It’s not excessive, see, it has pockets, so it’s practical. The basic skirt is so pretty. It’s only one flounce and fifteen bows.... that’s not to much. It’s pretty!!! I love the color!!!
It is beautiful. My neck. my eyes, my shoulders, my fingers, my wrists' ache at all of the hand work it took to create these beautiful gowns. I love the creation of the designers but my respect goes to the actual makers of these beautiful works of garment art. Thank you for showing how much detail and work is involved to create such lovely pieces of work.
Nnnooooo! Don't take away the tulips and bows, I think they are lovely. Your technical skills are excellent by the way. I may have said this before but I love watching you sew. Good luck with the rest of the gown.
Don’t worry I won’t take all of them off, I’ll have a look when the whole gown is finished. And see how it balances, I might take off 3 and spread it out a little bit more😊
I love all the bows and the colour of fabric is divine... I am in awe every time I watch you create, your attention to detail is enthralling...can’t wait to watch you create the bodice...🥰😘🇦🇺
“I may take out some bows and tulips out” I immediately shouted out a very quick and brisk “No!” Essentially a bark of “no” cake out. No, please don’t take them out! They look gorgeous and there’s no need to! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
This is amazing! I think it's exactly the right amount of too much (and the right amount of too much is exactly why I love the 1830s)! Love the color as well!
I'm not sure what it will look like on, for some reason it just seems different whenever one put's a skirt on, but I don't think it looks unbalanced or over-the-top. It's beautiful.
I know this is just the skirt but I'm absolutely in love with the details, the silhouette, the bows......THE BOWS!!!!! I love bows. Can you tell I love bows? Also it's really great inspiration for my own 1830s project which is a blue and white plaid evening dress. Blue plaid mostly with white details. Does plaid belong in evening dress? Probably not. Am I still gonna use it because I want to? Definitely yes.
That’s what melchior said too. But I think if I take maybe 3 bows off and then spread it out a little bit more. So the decoration isn’t consumed by itself☺️ but I’ll have a look when the while this is finished
It looks fabulous! Allll the bows, that must've taken quite a while. Also, meanwhile I started my 1830's dress about a month ago and only just cut out the fabric... You have given me a little extra inspiration to start on my skirt though, so perhaps that'll actually get started this weekend!
I am new to your channel and I am so glad I found it. I really appreciate how you explain each thing you are doing and the calmness of your voice while explaining it. I do have one question though....how in the world do you keep your sewing room so eat and orderly? Mine looks like something blew up in it!! LOL. Amazingly, I do know where everything is, but I would love to have mine look neat and orderly. Thank you for sharing your talents and imagination. I am learning something new with each video.
Welcome!!! And thank you☺️ well if you look up my re-doing my workroom video you will see it wasn’t as organized as it is now🙈 . I just finally have enough space for things to go. And it is much easier to keep it tidy❤️
Thanks for the video! Aren't you never afraid that the thread holding the pleats in the back break? Since they are not sewed with a machine in the waistband like the pleats in the front?
It is from “The Nutcracker” by Pyotr Ilyitch Tchaikovsky, and like most of the most famous pieces from that ballet, it is from the second act, which is mostly pretty dances and very little plot.
It is not too much! It is fabulous. And that purple is crazy. The color kept changing depending on the lighting. So cool
This color is so crazy😂 and so hard to capture the true color on camera
Oh my gosh, this is fabulous! I don't think it looks like too much at all. Especially once you have some giant sleeves on top, I think you'll look just perfect.
Thank you😊 melchior and Marty said exactly the same😂😂 will see, I hope it will balance things out, and I don’t have to redo it🙈
I love the pockets!!!
It’s not excessive, see, it has pockets, so it’s practical.
The basic skirt is so pretty.
It’s only one flounce and fifteen bows.... that’s not to much.
It’s pretty!!! I love the color!!!
Haha😊😊 Pockets for life😂😂

aww thank you so much!💓
This was fantastic. I love how wonderfully over the top this was. Those bows🥰🥰🥰
😂😂❤️❤️

That color is AMAZING! I bet it will look more balanced once the whole look is together.
I hope so🤞🏻
beautiful sewing, like a fairy tale princess chained in the topmost tower, dreaming of her fairy tale ball
The color on that is gorgeous. It must be so beautiful in person.
☺️ it’s like magic😂
Makes me think of Cadbury’s chocolate 😋. My favourite purple.
I love all the bows and the colour of fabric is divine... I am in awe every time I watch you create, your attention to detail is enthralling...can’t wait to watch you create the bodice...🥰😘🇦🇺
Thank you😊❤️

😂😂😂😂😂
Me too! NO!!!! It's a confection to the point of madness? But you want 1830s... add more decoration!
This is amazing! I think it's exactly the right amount of too much (and the right amount of too much is exactly why I love the 1830s)! Love the color as well!
Hahah same! Love the craziness 🤪
The elegance and decadence!! This is so impressive. Wow!! Can’t wait for the bodice 🤩
😂🙈 thank you ❤️
Oh boy I love the Nutcracker
That pincushin on the sewingmachine, its so brilliant!
Thank you so much 😀
Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy was spot on for this. Sweet!
This looks adorable! 😍 And I like that the darker purple is peeking through. 😄
That is just stunning! No need to change anything on it, in my - not always so humble - opinion. Heel mooi!
Danku wel 🤗
Everything you make is just gorgeous. I like the bows!
Aww thank you😊
That's gorgeous! I love the color of the fabric and the future dress!
Thank you so much!
Oh my goodness. You are my precise and mathematical dress making ROLE MODEL 😍
😂😂🙈🙈 thank you😘
The colour and decorations are glorious!!!!!
Thank you ☺️
Absolutely beautiful! Keep all the bows and tulips- they only look like too muck because you haven' t been able to compare it this year
😂😂😂
Absolutely gorgeous. This tickles all my fancies- silk, purple, pleats, bows, history... amazing work. Xoxo
😍❤️thanks love
Perfection, I like all the bows.
🎀 thank you
I love the bows as they are. You can never have enough embellishment.
😂😂😂
My favourite era! Oh I hope you keep all the puffy bows. I love the opulance.
😝thank you
Love it! That will swirl so beautifully when you dance.
Oooh I can’t wait to take it out for a twirl!😍
That purple is so magical and magnificent and just beautiful. Love the outcome!!!
Thank you 😊
“Nothing succeeds like excess.” Oscar Wilde
😂
Thanks for a fabulous video Nikki! Can't wait to see it all come together with the fabulous bodice you've created!
Thank you🤗
This skirt is mesmerising 🤩❤️
Thank you🥰
I think my brain exploded watching you attached the cartridge pleats to the waist band; I now must try this.
🤯😂🙈❤️
Oh that purple silk ❤️❤️❤️❤️
😍
I do not think it is too much. It is beautiful!
Thank you dear💓
Amazing detail, the crazy amount of detail is good, you said it, never enough for this time period. Jason from England 🤓
its amazing!!! not too many bows just right, I bet the bodice balances everything to your satisfaction x
Thank you☺️
I'm not sure what it will look like on, for some reason it just seems different whenever one put's a skirt on, but I don't think it looks unbalanced or over-the-top. It's beautiful.
can confirm! I tried it on and it fills the skirt out more. once the petticoats are freshly starched it will make a world off difference
I kept getting distracted by the Tchaikovsky) this piece is used in a fantastic 1973 soviet animation of the Nutcracker ☺️
Your videos show so much of the how! Thank you.
🤗no problem
I basically need a dress like this
😂
Just an FYI: your voiceover is only in the left channel, making it difficult for me to watch this wearing headphones.
I’m sorry
Lee-am
I could watch it without headphones. Just thought I’d make you aware so you can take that information with you for future videos.
I love it!
Hello😆 just found your channel and am enjoying binge watching your video.😊 💖💖
I love your work and i love the music 🥰
Beautiful work, even if you think “over the top”. : )
Thank you🤗

Does it only look unbalanced because you don't have the big sleeves to off set it?
That’s what melchior said too. But I think if I take maybe 3 bows off and then spread it out a little bit more. So the decoration isn’t consumed by itself☺️ but I’ll have a look when the while this is finished
Epic. 👍
thanks!
This was fascinating to watch. I love this decade! ♥️
Me too😍

Thanks for the video! Aren't you never afraid that the thread holding the pleats in the back break? Since they are not sewed with a machine in the waistband like the pleats in the front?
Do you mean the thread that gathers the cartridge pleats? I use a heavy weight hand sewing thread that is really hard to break😅
Is the background song from Princess Tutu?
It’s the waltz of the flowers by Tchaikovsky, I think originally written for the nutcracker but used for many other things
@@Leeam oh I remember now, I heard that song lots of times. Thank You!
It is from “The Nutcracker” by Pyotr Ilyitch Tchaikovsky, and like most of the most famous pieces from that ballet, it is from the second act, which is mostly pretty dances and very little plot.
the 1830's is my least favorite decade of fashion and you've earned my subscription lol
😂😂
❤️
all I could think when you said 15 bows was just ow your poor hands.
my left ear is lonely.
