Thank you for this. Your video walked me through the jyers install a couple years ago. After taking more than year off from 3d printing i recently fired my v2 back up. I was sad to see the jyers firmware had stalled since it made a huge difference. Glad to see this available and have someone explain the process so clearly

I've chatted with Jake Myers in the Ender 3 V2 group on facebook several years ago. What I think is going on with the Jyers firmware is that Jake is a college student (or was at that time) and apparently he now has other demands on his time.

This firmware solved all my troubles with my printer! Was about to trade in my Ender 3 V2 for Ender 3 V3 SE but I dropped that thought after installing this FW. Printing's much more smoother and this solved the problem where my printer would fail to print after homing.
Big thanks to you for introducing us to such an awesome firmware!

great video as usual Bryan! Your videos make this a lot less intimidating for beginners! I put off updating my firmware for a long time until i saw your video on editing and compiling the jyersui firmware. Now upgrading my Ender-3 V2 is not that scary anymore. I've upgraded a bunch of things, like micro swiss direct drive extruder, bl touch and dual z axes.

Thanks for showing us this firmware! I did it, but when I rebooted it, all the icons were just blanks. I was however in luck, the display was listed amongst the compatible ones. I also flash the new firmware for the display without any issues and, once rebooted with the second new firmware, all looked absolutely fantastic! All seems to be working fine, I only had time to check/compare the basic values and I performed the homing with a promising result.

Bryan, Thanks for a great video! I just joined your channel and look forward to watching the rest of your V2 and general content. You have rekindled my interest in 3d printing on the V2. A few years ago, I bought a V2 during it's pre-release offer and then got distracted by life. That V2 still sits in my closet in its original box, unassembled and unloved. Thanks to your video, I'm once again planning to assemble and learn how to use it. It occurs to me that assembling the parts that came in the box might make a good museum piece, but it is probably better to buy the current best-of-breed components and build it up right from the start. In addition to the items you mentioned (the 427 board, the BLTouch bed probe and the BIQU H2 V2 direct drive extruder with the E3D Revo hot end), are there any other upgrades you would suggest out of the gate. Also, do you know if the screen module can be replaced as the one I have is probably too primitive to accept the icons upload. If I going to do this, I want to do it right. Purchase Links (even affiliate links) for any components you recommend would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for a great video and also thanks for any advice you choose to share.

Bryan, glad you finally covered this firmware. I've been using it for a while and it's so much better than stock. There's a Unified Mesh bed leveling firmware available as well if you have a BL Touch. It's awesome as it makes tramming and leveling the bed a breeze with guidance on which knob to tighten or loosen and even shows you a visual of the heights of the leveling points in the mesh. It makes it super easy to get a perfect first layer.

I wanted to say thank you. I just replaced my Ender 3 V2 mainboard out of necessity to the new BTT SKR Mini E3 V3.0 and have also the Ender Extender kit installed. There isn't any pre-compiled firmware for and Ender 3 V2 with a 400mmx400mmx450mm setup. I modified the stock Marlin Firmware bugfix 2.1 to be the correct settings for the board and XYZ size. The default Marlin UI is just too basic for the V2 display. I tried to use the CrealityUI config and it wouldn't compile. This version is just magic! I did a lot of reading and the developer went the extra mile and create a special configuration repo where he added a Python GUI that allows you to select from some common features. Additionally he added the ability to allow you to configure different settings from the Configuration.h and Configuration_adv.h files. I simply created a new JSON file with the updates to the X_BED_SIZE, Y_BED_SIZE, and Z_MAX_POS to match my extended setup. Sure enough when I ran the gui my new 'Extended' config showed up. I clicked on the generate button and it modified the config files for me. Also modified the platformio.ini file to properly load in the BTT mainboard, stepper motor drivers, etc. Copied files in to his Marlin folder, and let PlatformIO do it's thing. Flashed the new mainboard, and display and works perfectly! Thank you again.

Thanks, I switched to this for my almost completely stock ender 3v2 after watching the video and it prints so much better. I also switched the the Lychee FDM slicer and really really like that one too. Not sure if you have dabbled with it or not but it's worth a peek at least.

I've been using his firmware for several months now on my Frankenstein Ender 3 V1 (it's somewhere between a V2 and S1 Pro). It works great and I love it.

Does your v1 have a sprite extruder? My v1 is very much not a v1 anymore. V2 display, 4.2.7 board and dual z axis steppers. I really would like to try this but idk if the sprite with bl touch is supported

    • @lindeleasley
      @lindeleasley 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Sprite extruder, dual Z-drive, mains print bed heat, 4.2.7 board, CR-touch, diamondback nozzle. In fact, mine sounds a lot like yours, and the MRiscoC works great. Auto bed leveling with up to 81 probe points, auto bed tramming that takes all the guess work out of the manual method. There's no reason it won't as well for you as it does for me. He even has a version for the 300 degree C hotend.

@@lindeleasley I jumped into it last night. Found the T13 compilation. What a night and day difference. Why does Creality tie the hands of these things like they do? MRiscoC on the same Gcode did a better job. After I ran all the PID and Nozzle temp calibrations, set E-steps, the tramming wizard (which is an absolute gem), set z offsets and set a mesh and ran it I couldn't believe the difference I saw. I can only imagine once I set the slicer settings and enter the G29 lines in how much more I'll like it.

Just kicked Jyers to the curb and installed this firmware on a Ender 3 Pro that has been upgraded to 4.2.7 board, CRTouch, v2 screen and a dual z lead screw. So far, it is working great with perfect first layer. Thank you for posting this video.

Hi Bryan, thank you very much for posting this video. On your video for Jyers Code, I installed it on my V2 and it still works fine. Now I would like to print on higher temps, since I installed an all metal hotend from Ms... And my question is: is it possible to print with more than 260 degrees C with this new Firmware?
    Greetings

As expected, fantastic video Brian! This is an incredible new firmware! The icons are brilliant too. Its like I have a brand new printer. You explained the install flawlessly too. Two questions, Question one. Is there a setting somewhere that lets the screen stay on longer, it auto-dims about every 30 secs, maybe a minute, I haven't timed it. Second question, my filename used to scroll across the top of my screen that would tell me the filename, layer height and how many metres of filament its going to use. any idea how to make that scroll again? Any help would be fantastic.

You can send or write a g-code configuration file with the M255 S0 command (or S## where ## is in minutes)

I think this is great and am I've been meaning to try it. My hessitancy is that I have a CR touch on my ender 3 v2, but I have been thinking about adding a high temp extruder which would require me to edit the source code which I assume is the Upgrade only. Any chance you have a video on editing the source code to add a CR touch and change the high temp settings? I have not come across a decent guide that tells me how to modify raw source code for both. Its usually one or the other.

I finally got this working on my Ender 3v2 with Sprite Extruder Pro Kit and BL Touch. It took me a while to get the display updated though. As you said Bryan, the display is "Very Picky" about how the SD card is formatted. I had to use an external SD Card formatter to get the 8GB FAT32 partition and then use the windows 11 MSDOS "format" command to get the 4096 byte allocation unit "format h:/A:4096". But it finally worked, and it Looks Great ! ,...Now let's see how it prints. lol. Thanks Bryan.

I have this installed in my Ender 3 v2. This weekend I will be installing the Micro Swiss NG extruder and hot end combo. I have a large microSD card full of parts I’ve printed. Will I have to delete all of my prior sliced parts and re-slice? Or will setting the steps and retraction in this firmware let me still use them? Ender 3 v2 mostly stock with a CR-Touch ABL sensor.
