    This is great, I've often thought about it as another Reformation! If you're not a Law-keeper you're a Law-breaker. Whoever claims to abide in Him ought to walk even as He walked. It's really not that complicated.

      Well, this isn't necessarily true or false. It has been generally accepted that Luther posted his 95 Theses on the door of 'All Saints Church' on October 31st, 1517 to the point that it is a part of our vision of history. Yet, if it happened, it wouldn't have been so terribly egregious as it sounds because many things were often posted on those same doors.
      The 'All Saints Church' building had become the chapel for the University of Wittenberg about 15 years prior (four years after its construction). The university actually encouraged debate and persuasive arguments as part of a method of community academic and spiritual growth. The story of the posting of the 95 Theses goes back at least to contemporaries of Luther.
      Of course, there are few early accounts that have survived that can attest to this. However, Luther's theses were certainly sent to Archbishop Albert of Brandenberg on the same day. As challenges and arguments were sometimes posted on the chapel doors (along with other community announcements), it's quite plausible that Luther posted them on the door. After all, contemporary accounts did seem to assert this. However, it certainly didn't happen with the same fanfare depicted in reenactments.
      Those doors were essentially a bulletin board for the university community (similar to what is found around most colleges and universities today). So, Luther didn't nail his theses on a virgin door as a moment of anger and sacrilege. Those doors often had other things posted. If Luther did post his theses, he simply posted them for the community to see as the community often posted there (and looked upon what was posted).

    God never changes. Neither did His law. The ceremonial law was done away with at the cross since its job was to point to the Messiah and the work He would do. God's eternal moral law, the Ten Commandments, never passed away. Never changed.
    I would use caution in listening to those who preach another gospel. Paul warns against this.

    “Now when Cephas (Peter) came to Antioch, I opposed him face to face [about his conduct there], because he stood condemned [by his own actions]. Before certain men came from James, he used to eat [his meals] with the Gentiles; but when the men [from Jerusalem] arrived, he began to withdraw and separate himself [from the Gentile believers], because he was afraid of those from the circumcision. The rest of the Jews joined him in this hypocrisy [ignoring their knowledge that Jewish and Gentile Christians were united, under the new covenant, into one faith], with the result that even Barnabas was carried away by their hypocrisy. But when I saw that they were not being straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I told Cephas (Peter) in front of everyone, “If you, being a Jew, live [as you have been living] like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how is it that you are [now virtually] forcing the Gentiles to live like Jews [if they want to eat with you]?” [I went on to say] “We are Jews by birth and not sinners from among the Gentiles; yet we know that a man is not justified [and placed in right standing with God] by works of the Law, but [only] through faith in [God’s beloved Son,] Christ Jesus. And even we [as Jews] have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law. By observing the Law no one will ever be justified [declared free of the guilt of sin and its penalty]. But if, while we seek to be justified in Christ [by faith], we ourselves are found to be sinners, does that make Christ an advocate or promoter of our sin? Certainly not! For if I [or anyone else should] rebuild [through word or by practice] what I once tore down [the belief that observing the Law is essential for salvation], I prove myself to be a transgressor. For through the Law I died to the Law and its demands on me [because salvation is provided through the death and resurrection of Christ], so that I might [from now on] live to God. I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. I do not ignore or nullify the [gracious gift of the] grace of God [His amazing, unmerited favor], for if righteousness comes through [observing] the Law, then Christ died needlessly. [His suffering and death would have had no purpose whatsoever.]””
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬-‭21‬ ‭AMP‬‬
    Why did Peter eat (unclean food) with gentiles? I do believe that followers of Yahusha ha’Mashiach (Jesus the Messiah) should observe the 10 Commandments. They were given before Israel committed spiritual adultery with YaHUaH Elohiym. Then YaHUaH had to put stricter laws upon them to discipline them after Moses interceded for their salvation. Noah and his family were allowed to eat anything after they left the ark as long as there was no blood still in it because life is in the blood. There is a good teaching on the mystery of Melchizedek that explains this more.

    • @swansonberg
      @swansonberg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      It is definitely a stretch to claim that Peter ate unclean food with the Gentiles! Jewish rabbinic law would have prevented Peter from eating a meal with any Gentile prior to the vision in Acts 10. And Peter concludes that the vision was about acceptance of MEN, and he did NOT conclude that the vision was overturning the food laws! [Acts 10:28 NKJV: "Then he said to them, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean."] Hence, it is more likely that Peter was eating kosher with Gentile believers in Galatians 2:12.
      Additionally, the Acts 15 Jerusalem Council concluded that the initial guidance to converted Gentiles should include instruction for three food laws (avoid food offered to idols, meat of strangled animals, and blood), with the assumption that they would learn to follow the rest of the Torah during the weekly Shabbat teachings in the synagogue. [Acts 15:19-21 NIV: “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood. For the law of Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath.” So there is not really any substantial basis in Acts for assuming that Peter - or any of the Jewish leaders - were persuaded to stop obeying the food laws.

      And by the way, Noah was commanded to take more clean animals (7 pairs) than unclean (one pair) onto the ark (Genesis 7:2). So Noah knew that God distinguished between clean and unclean, and God made sure that there were enough clean animals for food and sacrifices (Gen 8:20), compared to the number of available unclean animals.
      Have a great day!

      I think that there are a few things to remember concerning this:
      1.) For nearly the first decade of the church (from Jesus's resurrection through Peter's vision and meeting with Cornelius in Acts 10), the focus of the Gospel was to the Jews. As Jesus said, it came first to the Jews and then to the Gentiles. During that time in-between, the early church began, increased in numbers, saw deacons appointed, faced persecution, spread to other cities (and nations), saw the apostle James executed, etc. Saul was converted during this time. So, the focus of the Church was still on the Jews...until Cornelius and, more importantly, the travels of Paul and Barnabas.
      2.) The apostles were faced with some questions about circumcision and other issues of the Law that led to the 'council in Jerusalem' in Acts 15. in fact, Acts 15:5 specifically states that there were Pharisees who had converted and become a part of the Church. They argued that "the Gentiles must be circumcised and required to keep the law of Moses.” The apostles response was very simple and specific. They wrote an epistle (i.e., letter) that was sent with people who traveled with Paul and Barnabas. In it, they tell the Gentile believers to avoid sexual immorality and idolatrous practices (i.e., eating food sacrificed to idols, blood, meat of strangled animals). This is probably a direct reference to Balaam in Numbers 22-24 and mentioned by Jesus to the Church of Pergamum in Revelation 2:14. Remember that Balaam taught a foreign king that God could not curse his chosen people (because of the covenant between them); however, those chosen people could be cursed by God if they strayed from him via sexual immorality and idolatry.
      3.) In the epistles sent by the apostles in Acts 15, they wrote, "It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements" before mentioning those "requirements" above.
      4.) When we read about the "gifts and calling of God" being "irrevocable" (in Romans 11:28-29), it is clearly addressing God's chosen people who are "enemies" for our sake but, as far as election is concerned, "loved" on account of the covenant God made with Abraham, Isaac and Israel (before the Law of Moses).
      5.) There is still a distinction between physical Israel, redeemed (i.e., believing) Israel and those Gentiles who have been grafted into the Vine (i.e., Christ). This is clear throughout Romans as well as in the letters of Peter and the Epistle to the Hebrews. Believers -- no matter their physical heritage -- are in the Vine. They are the Israel of God. However, as pointed out, the gifts and calling of God -- as far as election -- is irrevocable for physical Israel on account of the covenants that predate the Law of Moses. This doesn't mean that Jews are presently "saved" -- because nearly all of the people that Jesus and the apostles preached a message of salvation to in the Gospels until Acts 10 were Jews.

      @@swansonberg - I would offer one counterargument though: Paul rebuked Peter to his face by saying, "You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs" (Galatians 2:11-14)?

    Why did Yeshua say not one jot or tittle will pass from the law..... and then he changed the jots and tittles in the same sermon.... only a few verses later???
    For example he said in Matthew 5:
    "38 YE HAVE HEARD THAT IT HATH BEEN SAID, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
    39 BUT I SAY TO YOU, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
    Yeshua changed the law. Not only that. He made it clear that his God and Father cares about the intent of our hearts not just the actions we take. God bless.

    • @TheWayDoc
      @TheWayDoc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi there. You've pointed out an unnecessary contradiction accepted and labeled by mainstream church doctrine as a paradox. But it's just misunderstanding of the Law and Yeshua's lesson. Yeshua didn't change the "eye for an eye" ruling here. That is a ruling to manage a theocracy and is relevant to managing a theocracy, forever (whenever one exists). He is giving rules to manage an individual. And His rules highlight what it actually means to love your neighbor as yourself (found in the Torah) and love Yah with all your heart, soul and strength (also found in the Torah). He came and lived these rules out, and taught on them, so we could know how to live, like He lived.
      This book points out 25 similar contradictions to the one you mention and shows why they don't have to exist when doctrine is slightly shifted.

    • @bobbychuckles8764
      @bobbychuckles8764 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheWayDoc If Yahusha did not change the ruling/law then who did? Its objectively NOT the law any longer. And he said not a jot would pass... So what does he mean by "pass"?
      What rules / laws do you keep? Do you wear Tzitzit?
      He changes many more tittles in the course of that same sermon.
      Other than that I agree that we are to Love our God and to love others.... and to keep the Messiah's other commands as well.
      “For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7).
      This is what Yahusha changed of the law. He expanded many to to include our intent and our thoughts.... not simply our actions.
      God bless

      @@bobbychuckles8764 You need an understanding of what the "jots" and "tittles" are from a Torah scroll perspective. And don't go by the Christian explanation of a jot being the smallest Hebrew letter and a tittle being a small part of a Hebrew letter. That's nonsense. They're distinct marks and styles of writing certain passages in the Torah that point to deeper meanings of the words involved. AND if Yeshua changed any of the laws then He was not Messiah because He broke the Torah command of not adding to or taking away from Torah commands. Deut. 4:2 And by breaking that command He was guilty of sin. 1John3:4. And we know that can't be true or else He wasn't the fulfillment of our unblemished Passover lamb. Selah.

    • @batteries671
      @batteries671 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bobby, you said
      ""Yeshua changed the law. Not only that. He made it clear that his God and Father cares about the intent of our hearts not just the actions we take""
      but multiple places in the old testament God already revealed that he wanted a circumcised heart and a contrite heart. so:
      1) this is nothing new
      2) wanting the intention of our heart to be right, and wanting our actions to be right are not mutually exclusive, in fact they work together
      following your heart and intentions without seeking the truth of the word is dangerous:
      Jeremiah 17:9 ESV
      The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
      Deuteronomy 30:6 ESV
      And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.
      Jeremiah 4:4 ESV
      Circumcise yourselves to the Lord; remove the foreskin of your hearts, O men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem; lest my wrath go forth like fire, and burn with none to quench it, because of the evil of your deeds.”
      Jeremiah 9:25 ESV
      “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will punish all those who are circumcised merely in the flesh-
      Acts 7:51 ESV
      “You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you.
      Psalm 51:17
      The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
      a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
      Amos 5:23-34
      Take away from me the noise of your songs;
      to the melody of your harps I will not listen.
      But let justice roll down like waters,
      and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
      1 Samuel 16:7
      For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
      so the idea or argument that Yeshua teaching that God looks at the heart is a new idea is not born out by the facts. The fact is that has always been true.

    We are no longer under the Mosaic covenant as an operational covenant. Yeshua fulfills every aspect of the Mosaic law (Torah). By believing in and surrendering my life to the Lordship of Messiah Yeshua (YHWH in the flesh) I am obedient to Torah. However Torah is still relevant in that the principles of Torah teach me what is right and wrong (i.e. I wouldn't know what coveting is without Torah to teach me). Am I required to keep the feasts? No, but why wouldn't I want to? They are God's prophetic paradigm and each feast celebrates Yeshua in some way. Should I keep sabbath on the 7th day? No, but I should keep A sabbath (i.e. one day a week where I don't work or seek financial gain for myself, but merely rest). Yeshua is our "sabbath rest." The underlying principle of the sabbath remains: a day of rest and not pursuing personal financial gain. Torah is our school master to hold us by the hand and lead us into Yeshua and the New Covenant in His blood. BTW, I have attended a Messianic congregation for 25 years.
