My short film ANV is a compilation of Storytelling ideas and Sci-fi concepts I've had in my head for years. It also was a way to explore single artist independent animation workflows. Most of my animation career I've created short from commercial work. When I was coming up with the story and script I definitively made a huge effort to develop a longer narrative, this helped guide the visual approach for a very effective animation pipeline for a single artist. ANV was created to have a nonstop engagement narrative style without compromising story beats and dramatic rhythm. Even if you watch the film once, you will find more details on subsequent viewings. Thanks to everyone that has already given me overwhelming amounts of support. Jeb

I'd also like to think that another branch of the ANV is always out there, trying to get them somehow.
Absolutely stunning..L'chaim. I'll teach you some Aramaic. It's the slang of Hebrew. Schlama means peace. Malkuth means heaven. Hubba means love. Sincerely Jacova 11. Gevurah born March 11th in Bethlehem. Aka Klaatu 11.
That was excellent. I got to hand it to ya, it must have been hard to write a story, that tells the story without uttering a word. The lac of communication, is actually what made this understandable to more people than if it had a dedicated language.

@@Sarakate601 I woudnt bet on anything regarding how we are in comparison with other civilizations, ailens. Like you said, we don't know, AND I know it's popular to be pessimistic about humans in this current time. BUT if I am to bet on something, I would not bet we are THE worst monsters out there, nor that we are THE saints. Because that would mean we are the statistically unlikely outliers. With our sample of one, that's unlikely. Just for example: Our closest cousins bonobos and (despite their reputation) chimpanzees and humans themselves don't make it on the top 30 list of mammals that murder their own kind the most. This is a list from extensive research, not buzz feed btw.(And that is not counting most other animals, like insects.) If we are not the most murderous species on earth, why assume we are that in the universe. Unless our planet is partially violent, which is possible, I suppose. Also, unfortunately, if you have heard of the Fermi paradox, it explains, that there might be a chance that intelligent species are actually usually quite self-destructive. Our monstrous nature may come more from the power we gain from our intelligence and the responsibility it gives us, that fail to live up to. Rather than that, we are some animal with an unusual lack of instinctive morals.
@@Sarakate601 Btw, the No 1 most murderous mammal is meerkat, if you're curious. You are almost 20% likely to be murdered (by your own kind) if you are a meerkat.

I loved the animation, the right mix of silly kiddy toons and serious stuff goin' down! The fact that you tell a story with no dialogue is just awesome and speaks volumes about your animating skills and creative imagination. Thank you for this!
Just imagine how much these two could change Earth for the better! Of course the concept of all the alien worlds they could visit would also be very cool. 10/10.
@@jebcg I would love to see this as a full length feature or miniseries. You could probably make a fortune from a licensed toy line alone. I know my inner 7 year old would not let me rest until I had the whole collection. Maybe we can get a look at the "visitor's" biology and homewotld? And what's going on with the biomechanical spheres he or she produces? I'm guessing they have many functions other than acting as a cardiac pacemaker and EMP device. So many questions...but I want to know it all.
Absolute original masterpiece of animation. Loved every second of this. Very well made in every way.Thank you so much for making and sharing this great film!
Superb. It's not often that I immediately send the link to friends let alone watch it again. I loved it the moment that I saw the little van. Hat's off. Thank you. More please..
Wow, how incredibly well made with that animation outside and in that big kind of spaceship, and that combined with those cool sounds and music in the background! Not to mention made without a written script at all! And then you can only follow the storyline through the mimics depicted for all motions, movements and sounds of the various figures! For me this DUST SF SHORT FILM is not so much really exciting, but more funny! And that's also because of this funny looking alien, the weird kind of astronaut suits from that ANV angency team, and how that alien with many eyes ate that one ANV angency guy and then spit him out a bit later! HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! 😀😁😂🤣😜🤪🤫🤭 My compliments to the makers of this special, funny (weird in positive way!) DUST SF SHORT FILM!!!!! 🤩👍👏👩👽
Jeb, I was quite taken with your film! It's so rare to find someone who can tell a story that does not lean on language as a medium yet is as nuanced and profound as your clever and playful short. I would *love* to see it expanded to a longer runtime to discover what kinds of trouble your corporal and her alien counterpart get into. You've given us a great deal of food for thought!
Beside of the high technically level, i really felt the atmosphere and empathie for the characters. There is a kind of melancholia, i really love. Very good work!
Seems like this is only the start or introduction, is there more to the story? The alien despite being a bit freaky didn't seem to cause any real harm.
This was very well done I think the lack of dialogue helps you to concentrate more on what's going on I think sometimes dialogue complicates things because you're trying to listen to what the dialogue says and what it means and you may miss out on some animation that could be more meaningful. A lot of the time dialogue can add things that are not needed..... actions speak louder than words sometimes
Lesson of the story: If you meet an alien for the first time, and you agree to start first contact by vivisecting it, then don't refuse to give your boss what you find.
My Stars what bizarre animation. Like little robots dolls. Maybe we will seem too real too, to them someday. It makes me think that we know so very little about the different ways to have a conversation.
