    Russian weapon are built with simplicity in mind. The Russians have almost every weapon the us and nato have. Tanks,apc's, missiles etc. We don't really have any technical dominance any more. Remember that the AK 47 is a simple gun and the M4 are high tech. But there are 100 million Aks in the world for a reason

How many engineers do you turn out per year? China:1.3 million graduates (No 1); USA:237,800 graduates (No 4) Over 5x what you produce! Besides, most of those great engineers you were getting in the 'background' from Asia are no longer streaming to you (That was your open secrete)! They now prefer staying in their countries and helping develop them. You can see that in the rise of many Asian Countries.

      The problem is that many of these weapons are still functional (esp the smaller ones) which gives some bad actors who already begin to feel, ostensibly, "betrayed by the West" some unpleasant retaliatory options down the line, I rather not even discuss further b/c too grim. "Enemy of my enemy is my friend" only works up to a point & may backfire way out of proportion cough Bin Laden cough - ultimately neither Nazis not terrorists are anyone's friends and it really depends on who riles them up against who. And now they're armed to the teeth.

    • @AlexKarasev
      @AlexKarasev 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Secondly, it's not so much about copying the weapons but also finding weak spots in them. Having some units to play with is like having source code of some program - a lot easier & quicker to find a lot more weaknesses. Even something as simple as who makes the chips and motherboards, then "the right folks" get hired to work at that firm. Years down the line, there's hostile hardware or software injection taking place in some next generation system.

    In reality, during their long involvement in Vietnam, they lost larger numbers of weapon systems and military hardware's and more complex weapons systems for its era than these weapons, which have become considered obsolete weapons systems most of it cold war era...
    the same thing happened during the occupation of Iraq, where in the first few years what is very temporarily called the united states of america lost more than 30 thousand pieces of equipment considered very sensitive, a large portion of which was transferred to the Islamic Republic of Iran...
    In Afghanistan, what was very temporarily called the united states of america, during its rapid withdrawal from this country, was forced to abandon various types of weapons systems worth more than 25 billion dollars...
    but for the Russian some weapon systems considered wining trophy because it lacking the sam level of technology for example the top attack ammunition, same thing for the nlaw, while the tanks and other armor fighting vehicles will give the Russian a deep sighting into the western tactical and operational requirements and combat doctrine prioritizing the survivability through a mixture of advanced engagement capabilities (enhancing the day and night perception and with it the fighting capabilities, utilizing advanced fire control system, possesses superior standoff engagement capabilities through longer range main gun coupled with capable ammunition), in addition with utilizing heavy armor to protect its tanks...
    I remember that what is very temporarily called the united states of america purchased 2 systems of s-300 air defense systems it was the most advanced air defense system in the world, before this war, military cooperation was possible, and Russian friends could have purchased these weapons systems directly from their manufacturers, beside its alternatives offered in China, the puppet regime in the South Korea, and Sweden. therefore, there is no need to exaggerate the impact of these weapons falling into reshaping the geo-political...
    during ww2 all parties lost valuable weapon systems, this part of the practice of war, what is astonishing that the Ukrainian armed forces didn't trained their soldiers how to demolish the tank before abandoning it, for example they could equippe it with radio receiver or electronic chip for targeting, allowing special modified artillery round to destroy it from the first round, or even sending swarm of FPVs to destroy it completely...

    Five dollars a round for 50 cal. ammo that's full retail. NATO needs to learn how to not get taken to the cleaners by their suppliers.

      Why? They get their money from tax departments. It's not their money. Besides: the decision takers benefit due to their next job. See lloyd austin.

    The captured equpment and weapons will most probably have a minimal importance in developing new weapons that's relevant for this war. Things isn't happening so fast. However, it helps the military to understand the capacity of the enemy and how to avoid or protect againt it, but that goes at both sides.

      It's already been done. Alloys, plastics, types of explosives, mfg of curcuit boards, algorithms used. They shared the reports, not the hardware.

    The main problem of the NATO is that they have to update their Windows OS every 2 month and maintain they monthly subscription in Adobe Acrobat to maintain their weapons updated!
