instead of cutting the Catalytic converter, since the inside material is a substrate. Why cant you drill the material out and make it somewhat hollow. Wouldn't that work and less chance of CEL coming on? The substrate is a ceramic material, so should be easily drillable, assuming.
@@SuarezJJ11 how does the car tune itself? I asked Carlos if he ran E85 without a tune and he said yes. How is it the car didn’t run lean when you put in the e85?
@@aacrioshow did you do it? Didn’t the car run lean? I have a 2020 c8 stingray could I run e85 without a tune? Not that I would but man that sounds crazy without having a dedicated tune. I know the ecm Can adjust fuel trims to a degree but e85 wow! What’s the secret Thanks
@ the computer did set a code wen wot but the fuel trims ran a bit leaner were we normally like to tune this engine on e85. Ran the car straight e for 3 years before tune came available from trifecta. We are now on hp tuners.
There are some aftermarket ranging for less to replace but what would be the downside if the car requires no tuning.... there isn't any but weight savings.
Question, i know if isn’t a Chevy but,. I have a 19 mustang with kooks longtube headers and hi flo cats. I can get catless mid pipes for fairly cheap and my tuner says it’s still worth another 10-15 wheel horse even over the high flow cats. Is that true? I have o2 extension bungs so I won’t get a check engine light so that doesn’t matter. What do you think? Is it worth the $200 for catless mids? Will I gain much over he hi flow cats?
@@htownsfinest87we charge $200 to gut the cats. In terms of exhaust I would recommend American racing headers and a catback of your choice or if u can a center exit is even better
I can’t believe how good it sounds
What exhaust were you running on this car? And also does it have headers also?

Some nice R&D guys
Thanks man. We will post results soon.
I really wanna know what it would sound like with a stock cat back NPP exhaust
So how will you tune it if it’s catless?
The car tunes itself

Any follow-up on the gutted cats
We haven’t been able to do dyno testing yet but still no CEL
Your gains are awesome! From what I've seen your mph is similar to a Procharger kit at 128 to 130.... Do you have serious weight reduction?
Not at all mostly in the muffler in the back and wheels
Carlos did you run e85 in your corvette without a tune
@@lamarsmith876 yes I did.

Thanks for the knowledge
Those cats have got to be like $1500 from GM. Hard to chop one in half haha
Yeah they are a pretty penny for sure. In the name of science we made the sacrifice haha

This sounds amazing!! i didn’t like the center exit when i first saw it on this car but i love it now!
Can you send your up-to-date information on modifying the dotvk cats and if you modified stock exhaust. Just trying to see if ehat i have can be loud.
super badassery right there brother
For sure it threw a code
Sounds damn good
Any cells how did you prevent the cell from comming on

You did not state increased HP. Did these now throw O2 codes? Did you install O2 simulators?
We are still currently testing. We didn’t put any simulators or defoggers. As of rn still no check engine lights.
@@SuarezJJ11 any updates?
@@htownsfinest87 no CEL still and now the car after a tune makes 540whp
@Jose Suarez what shop is this? What would you charge to do the cat mod? I want to go kook header, gut the center and run a aftermarket catback

any check engine lights ?
Hi.
How is the Cat going, any CEL and HP or Dyno ?
Planning to cut my next week.
Thank you
What ever happened to your c7, did you sell it ?
where you located and what's your contract information
Did it throw any codes after?
It comes and goes.
@@aacrios I gotcha thanks my friend feel like it helped with power?
Carlos do you do ported intakes for the C8 Corvette?
I do.
What were gains
We saw minimal gains. But we definitely took some weight of the car.
@Carlos A. Rios i think the fact that you lost weight and didnt have to spend 2k for just cats is a win all by itself
Where the flames at bruhhhhhh
People steal those
Not on a c8 🤣🤣🤣
@@htownsfinest87 Yeah the C8 sits Too Low for Dam thieves to get under them and steal them !!! Lol ;)
