I love this place, My husband and I drove to stay here all the time as truck drivers. We have always wanted to be part of this little oasis. This seems like such an artistic and quiet area.
Thanks for the comment. I hope you’ve had the chance to meet with, and hang out with, Mayor Jim. It’ll be interesting to see how the town develops after the purchase. I’m glad you are enjoying the town, and I hope to be back again soon!
These videos are wonderful. I heard about Nipton through the video game "Fallout: New Vegas" and Ive been intrigued about it ever since. the interview with the mayor was wonderful as well. hope this place gets to open up again now postcovid
Mayor Jim is such a nice guy. Full of information and happy to share it. I'll stop in next trip out that way and say hi to him myself. Another Great Video
Jim Eslinger is a wonderful guy, a true Nipton survivor and a proper desert rat. I can't thank him enough for his generosity and willingness to spend time with me and share many of his tales.
I lost money investing in American Green. I worked on the solar plants north of there. He's right about the Mojave getting into your soul. There is so much history, geology, archaeology out here. 1000's of acres of freedom. Some people love the Mojave, but it's not for everyone. Us desert rats like it that way.

I love the Mojave Desert. It’s full of eccentricities.
Yes and lots of those eccentricities are found in Nipton!
Fascinating! Thanks for the info - drove through once when trying to avoid traffic on the 15.
Nice! Sleepy place. We’ll see if that changes…
I love towns like this. Enchanting in their own special way
Thanks for the comment! Nice to see a positive one.

I stayed out there many years ago. I didn't hear any city sounds, but the passing freight trains woke me up several times thru' the night
Cool! The tracks are indeed very close to the train. I would imagine that back in the day perhaps the train did not run at night.
Great video👍
🙏👍
We were there in Jan 2022. Interesting town. It was for sale. The Mayor gave us a personal tour.
Nice that you also met JIm. Great guy!

I had to look up a few of the terms you used here. Thanks for the education...
Damn, you can see the Solar Farm from there.
Yes! Solar farm is visible from all over that valley.
