Burning Man Fly Ranch & Geyser Tour
We take to the Tour of Fly Ranch through Friends of Black Rock Desert who are associated with Burning Man. Fly Ranch was purchased by the Burning Man project in 2016 at a cost of $6.5 Million Dollars. We see the ranch, the Burning Man Structures and talk about the highlight features which include the Fly Geyser and the Baba Yaga House on Chicken Legs that is now resting on the Ranch but unfortunately is in a state of decay.

Drawbridge Ghost Town Sinks into the Marsh!
มุมมอง 43021 วันที่ผ่านมา
Drawbridge Ghost Town is a fascinating place in the marshes of the San Francisco Bay Area near Fremont and Alviso, CA. There are some great videos on this place but I wanted to update the situation for 2024-2025. The town is sinking quickly and not much remains of the once bustling party and lawless town. The Don Edwards Wildlife area folks have decided to let it go and not try to arrest the de...
Wingo Ghost Town or Bust!

We make 2 attempts to hike to the Ghost Town of Wingo, CA from the Larsen Family Winery in Sonoma, California. It is an epic hike to the Wildlife Marsh areas along Sonoma Creek. We try two times and fail... but the drone footage is epic. Wingo is the only public Ghost Town in the San Francsico Bay. The other is Drawbridge but is not accessible to the public. We also provide information on Wingo...

Lower Sunset Lake is located in the Lake Tahoe California (CA) area off of Hwy 88, Carson Pass. You travel the lovely Blue Lakes Rd. to Tamarack Rd. and then pass Tamarack Lake and the Pacific Crest Trail on the way to Sunset Lakes which is a wonderful, remote dispersed camping area. The dirt road is technically a 4WD road but can be traveled in any medium clearance vehicle if the road is dry.

I agree with you on this sir, I would’ve gladly let them search my car in this instance and let them know I’m with them and wouldn’t want that guy ANYWHERE NEAR me and my family
Thank you for the comment. At the time I had no idea what danger I was in. Had the murderer been on the road and flagged me down, I likely would have stopped to help. And he likely would have shot me dead and taken my van. I am grateful for the officers' diligence. They were not messing around dealing with a fallen comrade. Again, my condolences to Officer Hale's family and loved ones. So sad.
Thanks for this brilliant informative video. I'm coming from the UK to do this a week tomorrow. This demonstrates the detour really well and has been so helpful! 👍
Have a great visit!
The trees of weirdness, as we used to call them 👍🏼
It’s not illegal when something is imminent under exigent circumstances.
You are correct sir. But the Gen Z 4th Amendment idiots are not aware of this fact. My heart goes out to Officer Hale’s family and loved ones, and my respect goes to the officers who looked after my well being even though it might seem that they were being abusive. They were not.
@@fiestaadventures I call it the tik-tok generation. The generation that will be the death of America after they take over.
@@fiestaadventures Apparently my reply crossed a line with YT about Gen Z by just stating what they will do to America, but I was saying I call them the Tik-Tok generation.
@@fiestaadventures They will end our nation.
How about going back in the spring and show us the fish ladder thank you. Watched your Burning Man video looked fun
I’m sure the dam and fish ladder would be much more exciting in the spring during runoff season!

Hi,my name is J. I love your videos. I live in San Francisco, born in Tiburon,CA. I would like to go for a ride with you. I have hiked my entire life! Ring Mountain, in Tiburon is my favorite ride. Bear Valley,is a great start to "sky Trail". Also one of my favorite places! I also make videos for you tube. Let's collaborate!
Thank you for the comment. I do get to Tiburon from time to time on my bike.
Quick google search says I’ll never see this wonder anytime soon because BlackRock can go slobber in my knob!😠
No need to visit. Great footage.
Who the hell are "Friends of Black Rock"?
They are involved with Burning Man, Black Rock Desert, and Fly Ranch. Not everyone is pleased with their stewartship.
I’m from Detroit the only difference is the homes are way bigger
Support Black Rock...no way
Well openly at least they own so much it’s near impossible not to
You're gonna have to boycott every modern company then, if you're not doing that might as well just pay the fee. I wanna see them broken up and transparent, but politics is more effective than hamstringing yourself needlessly
Are you talking about Black Rock the company...? Because that's so bafflingly unrelated to the Black Rock Desert it makes my brain hurt. The Friends of Black Rock is a nonprofit in the Gerlach NV area, unrelated to the giant evil corporation.
@@Heterogeneity😂 💭 🤔
Awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
The friends of blackrock?!?🤔🧐 is there NOTHING they don't own?!
someone please plant some red woods there :)

Building a mountain. Black rock at it again
That’s definitely my ass the morning after chilly night
This is so cool. An accidental oasis. Wow!
Also the turn off was nothing more than a cattle grossin and all dirt back in the 80's.
I camped there a couple times back in the 80's. The second trip was solo and easy enough. On both trips there was only one or two other campers around. On my solo trip it was plane to see there was some serious smuggling going down There was also a regular anchor out location used by fishing vessels and clearly this feature was perfect for smuggling as well. At that time it was probably mostly big bundles of Tie stick floated in from the Anchorage and retrieve off the beach and transported away from the area. It was also the gateway to the green triangle of illegal growers so it was a little sketchy and risking to travel north of USAL Toward honeydew and shelter gove. All and all it is a very unique area of very deep costal California wilderness. Nothing else like it in the state and maybe for alot of Oregon as well.
Some of the areas up there are still sketchy to travel around today! 😲
Great video!✌
Thanks for the visit!
Really enjoying your videos, you camp like I did always prepared and not willing to take unnecessary risks especially as we camp solo, greetings from Canada !!
Thanks for the comment!
YES, the one at the end was jest right! What no fishing pole. I hear that there is a hot spring around there, I think the Hussy goes there, but not this year moving the mom. thank you
Fishing season starts October 1, and I’ll bet it’s going to be quite crowded! After pyramid Lake I headed for Black Rock Desert where Burning Man takes place and will have a video from that area soon. Thanks for the comment!
There used to be a lot of water transportation in the Bay before the bridges. Ferry Boats carried people to work in San Francisco from Marin County and the East Bay. Hundreds of Scow Schooners were specialized small cargo sailing ships which carried lots of things from Landings around San Francisco Bay. They could go up the sloughs and even sit harmlessly on mud flats at low tide. This made the Bay and tributaries Navigable Waterways that could not be obstructed. When the railroads came in they had to keep the waters open to boat traffic. There are still drawbridges connecting Alameda to Oakland. The island where Drawbridge came to be needed two bridges so both channels could be made available to boats. One Bridge Tender would be taking care of both bridges. Some teenagers enjoyed sailing around the island on both waterways. The Bridge Tender would need to hurry back and forth between each bridge. Young people could often have better things they should be doing. Nothing changes.
Thanks for the comment. Fortunately, there are still some ferrys on the San Francisco Bay and I have enjoyed using them in recent years.
@@fiestaadventures You are right. I neglected to mention that the Ferry's exist now. They are beautiful to ride. I remember riding what I thought was the last Ferry before the Richmond San Rafael Bridge replaced it about 1956. What I can't recall is if there was a time from about 1937 for the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge until more recently when there were no Ferry's in the Bay. There were railroad ferry's which I saw about 1974 and have now stopped. The next I rode a ferry was after the Bay Bridge was closed because of the Loma Prieta Earthquake.
@@jameshudkins2210 Thank you for the comment. I have recently ridden the ferry from Richmond to San Francisco. It's fast, it's beautiful, and it's fun. It's also very safe and so much better than riding BART in my opinion. The schedule is a bit limited and mostly caters to commuters but I will continue to use it when I have a reason to head to San Francisco.
When I left Santa Clara in 1998, Alviso (which I think is kind of near where this video was shot) was almost a sort of ghost town. Not many people lived there, and it was strange going from Silicon Valley proper into this odd anachronistic town of Alviso. Maybe they have developed Alviso more since then, I don't know.
I understand that the old part of Alviso is still a ghost town and in very poor condition. I may check it out someday and do a little video on it! Alviso is now a part of the city of San Jose, and I don’t think they’re planning to do anything with the old buildings at this time.
Huell Howser did a California's Gold episode about Drawbridge back in 2002 called "California's Gold S12 E7 Drawbridge". Huell and a group of people were able to walk right out to Drawbridge. It was filmed 22 years ago so you'll see the old buildings in much better shape, and Huell interviews a man who spent his summers in Drawbridge.
I did see that one as well and I probably should have included it in the links. I will add it now.
@@fiestaadventures The link to the Huell Howser video is actually a second link to the "Drawbridge: The Forsaken City" video.
Oopsie, someone is paying attention, unfortunately it wasn't me. Thank you for the correction.
Thank You
You're welcome!
Didn't know that town even existed in the Fremont area.
I love this! Do passenger trains still go over these tracks? -- charlie, sacramento
Thank you for the comment and question. Yes, you can still take a passenger train over the tracks and see Drawbridge. But the trains are pretty fast and it's over in a blink of the eye, but still worth the effort.
Amtrak "ACE' train daily.
Very interesting adventure and history in the comments the guy with the boat sounds good but look out for the guy that lives in area 🇺🇸😟 thank you for the tag along 🇺🇸
Thanks for the comment and duly noted!
I used to go to Trona in my youth. There was some clever graffiti on some tapered boulders painted to look like stylized sharks visible from the old highway from Ridgecrest , but were no longer visible from the new highway. Anyone remember the sharks ?
They are called "Fish Rocks" and are still visible today!
I’ve visited that town before. Even made a video about it. I went by boat though.
That's interesting! When you say boat did you come up the river under the bridge? Is your video on youtube?

Yes, Sarah never found it.She'd rambling video about life.Good job my friend I shared it on twitter
Thanks for the comment and share. I may try it once more if a very low tide comes along. But a part of me thinks that the water there never goes away despite the tide. I think the levee has busted or has been intentionally opened to re-establish the wildlife marsh. A fellow I spoke with at Larsen Family Winery said it's been underwater since the big storms of 2021-2022 winter. People who made the hike before that time had no trouble traveling the road to Wingo.
@@fiestaadventures I would have walked in the railroad tracks. That's what I would have done I do it all the time to give where I have to go

Oopsie.
😂 Great comment! I was aware that Sarah @wonderhussey was thinking about doing a video in this area, but I didn’t know that she actually pulled it off, and that she actually had an experience similar to mine. I don’t have her gift of gab but I hope you found my video interesting anyway!
She never found it
You didn't happen to run across Sarah out there still talking to herself lost in a self- induced fog? Which came fist you or Sarha, or the chicken or the egg. thank you for trying. O nice boots if you are missing your boots don't look anywhere around Death Vally. Thank you, good job drone footage was excellent. The bridge is cool.
I didn't happen to run into @wonderhussey out there though apparently we were exploring in the same time frame with similar experiences! It would have been fun to run into Sarah and share the misery of failure... and success. It's quite a coincidence that we both independently decided to return with waterproof boots after failing on our first try.
First town in which I lived after I was born. Spent a lot of my childhood at the pool and park even after moving over to another town. Been going there for years as a sports coach and now as a referee. The majority would be aghast at the place but it is very comfortable for me. My cousin is buried in the town cemetery. Such a peaceful place.
Thank you for the comment! It's always nice to hear from a local.
Thanks for sharing. I've also camped at Usal beach with my Sprinter 4x4 a few times, it's my favorite place to get away from everyone. I really hope Usal doesn't get ruined by some peoples BLM land mentality... ie this last a large family brought sand rails and two stroke dirt bikes and made such a ruckus in such a peaceful area . The last time I camped there was in the begining of Aug 2024, perfect weather, no mud, ruts starting to get deep, but easily managable with a 4x4 or AWD. I would not recommend going there with a low ground clearance or heavy front wheel drive vehicle, because you might have serious problems making it up some of the steep rutted hills...definitely no travel trailers! (take at your own risk).
Thank you for the comment. I agree with everything. Cheers!
Excellent, thanks
