As a new Raid player, here's my problem with this vid. This is a random gacha game. Unless you're rich, you can't afford to get "the best" in the game. And again random champions. I'll use what I get and try to work with them.

For Relic Keeper, you have to remember that he's the first fusion in the game. First, as in progression. He hits relatively hard when you first get him, doesn't allow the enemy to get turns in while he heals and buffs up, and his force affinity makes him a great help to your starter in pushing through higher difficulties in the campaign. Of course, he gets outscaled pretty hard, which is what's causing you to dislike his performance here- but, you have to remember: for accounts that are still progressing, who don't yet have reliable damage vs all affinities, he gives a very solid option.
Relic Keeper is amazing when you first start the game and haven't pulled anything good yet, but yeah, after that there are a ton of amazing champions. Early game though, he smacks hard and helps 3 star campaigns
He missed the important part of certain provokes he bashed. Bergoth and Balthus' provokes are on for two turns. 24:22 the damage doesn't increase as Ripper's HP decreases, it's the TARGET'S HP decreasing that increases the damage.
I will say for Relic Keeper, he was huge for my start on Raid. I didn’t pick the best starter, and thus had an inefficient “nuker” arena team. Relic Keeper was able to fill the void and pop them off one at a time. For Spider wave 19 (force affinity) I had only a Magic team. Relic Keeper was able to get me past the run by killing spiderlings one after another, so they couldn’t kill my coldheart. Sure I’ve came a long way since then, and have fed that Relic Keeper but I believe his rankings are so high since everyone is forced to get him through Challenges, and he was my Ace for early-early mid game.
I think a lot of the popularity for Relic is that as FTP player you can get him rather early and in the lower and mid-game he's rather helpful (IMO). I absolutely stomp with Delver, maybe it's because I did her masteries early on.
Bergoth helped me in FW 21 bc of the Valk wave. I didn't have rector for healing at that time. But I honestly thought Lordly Legionary was going to be #1. Shocked he didn't even make the list, also Marksman not making the list is shocking, too.
In a faction that only has 3 revivers, one being conditional, only one of them an epic and and all 3 of them voids, healing becomes massively important in faction wars. Lordly+Valerie, together with Lifesteal and Regen, is the only F2P way that can get you to 3 star Banner Lords, unless you luck out and end up pulling one of the very few amazing healers/revivers in that faction. He also has a decrease speed and decrease TM that are very handy against FW bosses. Lordly is not an awful champ, he just has limited use, pretty much only useful in FW and early FK.
@@dahammie8 well, Cillian is like Uber God tier in this faction given that he has an 100% 2 turn stun on a 3 turn cooldown, decrease speed, lots of TM control and other jazz with his passive. Even his A2 is amazing for the waves. He can probably 3 star the boss all by himself with some random rares or uncommons. Stag, Archmage and Giscard are also pretty OP in FW and Warcaster has unkillable, which ensures the 3 stars.
@@dahammie8 try beating the boss with some random epics and rares that are mediocre at best, while also not getting them to 6 stars or booking them. for that, you need stuns and heals. Archmage is amazing but he can't consistently stun the rowan add by himself and unless you have the patience to run the fight until you luck out, you need another stunner. you also need decrease attack for the boss and ideally def down. having stag is great but if you don't, the limited available spots need to be filled with champs that do that consistent enough. you also need a damage dealer like Gerhard. that's where Valerie+Lordly comes into play, not only that together they bring plenty of the much needed healing but they also serve other roles. Valerie extends buffs like increase defense and other jazz, and Lordly comes in with speed down for the boss as well as some TM control. On top of that, Lordly also comes in clutch as a second damage dealer, allowing you to finish the fight faster thus, decreasing the chances of the run ending by missing the stun on the Rowan add.
Bergoth actually got me through KR FW. He doesn't compare on power to other epic provokers, but KR have very little control below legendary and a 2t provoke against the triple Valk wave plus damage mitigation for that particular boss is a niche but special place for him
@@Eli-uu4vt he absolutely can, but that's two epics in the faction Vs one of the hardest waves in the game. And while MM is good for that, his ally protection isn't good for the boss because he just steals it, so all he does for 21 is stun. Bergoth is just as good for the waves and a lot better for the boss.
Some of the champions you mentioned only exist to be waves on the way to the boss in the dungeon and in this case reflect damage definitely does the job especially when they have a lot of hp and you come with AOE attacks. And I really like relickeeper, it's very fun to play with him, especially in doom tower and faction wars
Love these vids, Ash. How about you put together a guide to Epics you would ONLY max out for Faction Wars? As in, they're useless almost everywhere else but if you get one and have a space, then build them for your FW team and then forget about them! I think that would help a lot of folks!
Have to disagree with Reignbeast. He was necessary for me to finish SW FW when I didn't have the damage and Plarium refused to release SW fusions. The hippo needed him for me to be able to manual it. Now the pig and the rat auto it so he's been retired. Fond memories of Terrorbeast when I beat FK 13 for the first time. Need to feed him as I've had him in my vault at 50 for ages.
Yo Ash! You are easily one of my favorite content creaters across ALL genres that i watch already for the best "energy" of all and the genuine wholesomeness of your channel! So im a bit sad when i hear or read people being unnecessarily critical for irrelevant stuff. But on top of that you also dish out great content and presented in an enjoyable manner. If Hexia loves debuffs, she should have a passive that ignores the effects of the status decreasing ones(so she can still be CC'd) so she can do what her kit intended to do. Also I'm glad only 1 Shadowkin got mentioned but I'm surprised Umetogi didn't make your list cuz she has quite an outdated selfish kit. I'm also glad my girl Chonoro didn't get flak 😜 as a shadowkin loyalist I thank you
well i have a soft spot for Jurojin. he was one of my first 3 epics and used him at the end of fw for shadowkin. he's not garbage to me, he is part of my legacy. lol
Same here he was one of my 1st epics and since he ignored unkillable buff and I kept getting beat by maneater teams in the game he definitely helped me with beating me teams and any other champions that have unkillable buffs plus he's always one of my final champion left to raise the victory sword
Ash, I'm with you on most of these. But you are so wrong on Bonekeeper. She literally has some of the highest single target damage in the game! Check Hell Hades if you don't believe me.
It may be me but I noticed the Champions that have an arrow don't have the string for their weapon while the one that has a string on the cross bow has no bolt. Seems like both are missing a vital piece.
Ok, from a New Person's Perspective, who didn't spend a dime for like 2 years, Relickeeper was my main man for Campaign, and yes, Arena... Hell I used him everywhere. In a Lifesteal set, Crit Rate up, Attack%, this guy can smack, and was pretty tanky to carry me for so long into the upper levels. Sure, he may not be end game viable, but I don't understand a No. 1 Slot, and so much hate on him Ash, Relickeeper definitely doesn't deserve it... I don't even think he belongs anywhere on this list. Relickeeper is was kept me in this game, albeit casually for so long, before I started getting into this game more. I’m not hating on you Ash, love your content, but I think that pick is from a lack of perspective.
I'm surprised Maeve didn't make the list considering HH rates her as the absolute worst epic (and she was my 1st pull from a Sacred shard yay). I'd put her over Relickeeper but I don't think he's even close to worst compared to other champs.
I don't know guys, I think he rated them for their use, and to be honest there are way more better nukers and campaign farmers i guess, based in his trusty opinion.
I use a naked Bushi as a low power speed lead to duo with rotos. But that's only for the quest beat a team with higher power in the arena. Bushi will pop back up and potentially take 2 hits with the 24% speed lead. I hate the quest but that's my go to.
I seriously don't understand your hatred towards Maeve. Her "And Stay Down" ability has a 7.15 miltiplier. Huge damage and blocks revives. She kills in the arena, at least early game. I have her fully booked with savage + speed set. I admit I do not know how she compares to a pay to win late game team full of epics etc, but I was really happy that I pulled her and gave her all the love that I did, because at least in my opinion, I got a lot of use out of her. That being said, what I would change with her is to make her A1 either guaranteed sleep with a chance of extra turn, or keep her sleep as is, but if it lands she automatically get a second turn (and possibly a 3rd and a 4th and so on and so forth.) Then I would make har A2 into AoE with a guaranteed chance to land a stun if the target is asleep for 1 turn, and if the target is not asleep, make it a 60% chance to stun. This would add a more interesting setting for Maeve where she would be able to put enemies to sleep, possibly get another turn, then you can either move on and try to sleep another enemy, or keep chipping away at the first target trying to sleep it and farm more turns and then go in for the "And Stay Down" which could use a ignore shield, and take the enemy down. When I use her in doom tower, I try to sleep as many as I can the first turn and focus damage on one mob. Maeve is, to me, basically a very good control champion, even as she is right now with a very high damage.
I use relickeeper as a campaign farmer until I have my eqp for fellhound. Farming 12-6 works a lot better and I get around 21 sec. I also use him in arena with ronda as leader and venus going first. He can hit around 100k between the attack up, aura, and venus debuffs. As long as I go first I almost always win, but avoid champs I know I can't one shot. Live arena he works good because no one ever bans him and I use the same strat.
I like Delver, she helped me in the Spirit keep with the 100% heal reduction skill when I didn't really have other (reliable?) champ for this. And if you can get her very early, she is a decent nuker too besides your starter champ.
Relic keeper is really good for progressing campaign alot of people my self included got relic keeper for free at somepoint. Also he can one tap stage 20 mobs in faction wars if I'm not mistaken. No decrease defense*
Respectfully, I must disagree with you on the Epic Champion Bushi. He has become a mainstay in just about every dungeon (Iron Twins and Sand Devil Necropolis kick my butt every time). I have him equipped with Relentless set, and when paired with Ronda, they become the dynamic duo, with Extra Turn (set bonus) and In Your Corner (Passive) working in tandem (I had 3 Extra Turns with Bushi and Ronda's passive activated on each Extra Turn, best round I had in a Stage 10 dungeon and Clan Boss). He does require some investment to be tougher, and with his Revive passive, it is worth it. Just now realized that this video was posted a month ago. Side note, I enjoy your videos! They are helpful in equipping champions to their full potential. Keep up the good work!
As a new player, I face the occasional Relickeeper in tag arena and they are often troublesome because early game accounts primarly have worked on their starter and maybe Ronda for some of us, all of which are magic.
I feel personally attacked Relic Keeper is my main guy. I haven't played in a long time and came back because i found your videos 2 years ago this dude helped me in arena and campaign so damn much and to come here and see he's the worst... breaks the heart i dont have Buff my boi RK
He's actually pretty good for a few reasons, I feel like Ash is just baiting on that take especially. RK is great for FTP, early to mid game, and always pretty good for campaign, faction wars, and solid in a couple of other places.
Relickeeper definitely helped me when i was first starting the game. I was basically stuck in hard/brutal until i got him and valla. I think its definitely the beginners-mid game players who dont have or didnt have major dps champs for clearing
You can only provoke the head of decay though, right? Doesn't seem like it would add much to him for hydra then except a bit more damage per use of that skill. Making it a 2 turn aoe would put him almost on par with umbral enchantress as a CC champ, though. But umbral has the 3 turn block buffs too so she'd still way outshine him.
Do you want Hellgazer to be buffed? Remember who Mortu's harem consists of in Campaign 12... Terrorbeast needing a buff? Remember the big problem in normal Ice Golem? If a player is unlucky enough to pull so many Yagas that he can be maxed skilled before getting a poisoner other than Outlaw Monk and Kael, I think there's a case to just use the cow anyway. A little bit of context to Relickeeper: He was put into the game at a time when Summoners War had a ton of hype about a unit with a similar property of gaining a turn after killing an enemy because it was the meta campaign farmer. That was probably the oldest campaign farming meta in all of gacha games so obviously Plarium thought that Raid players would be all over that too.
I believe Reinbeast being used in couple of the secret rooms of hard doom (defense force afinity) tower as a healer/reviver (in pure "defense" Scyl of the Drakes might subsitute him): > Rotation 1: Secret Room 7 - Skinwalkers > Rotation 1: Secret Room 3 - Defense Champions > Rotation 2: Secret Room 6 - Defense Champions > Rotation 2: Secret Room 8 - Epic Defense Champions > Rotation 3: Secret Room 5 - Defense Champions > Rotation 3: Secret Room 5 - Force Defense Champions
i was playing when hording was released and i used relic+hording and they carried me SOOO FAR they are still carrying me to this day, (I'm F2p) I love that duo and feel they should get more love
I'm thinking about a Hexia/Gurptuk combo - but yeah, she probably needs better gear than I can manage anytime soon. Adriel was really important to my early account, but I need to bite the bullet and feed her soon. I put a lot of books into her, and she was my speed lead - because everything was mostly blue.
I love your videos and I 100% agree with your choice Bushi! In two factions I left the battle on auto and saw later, that it reached 45 minutes because Bushi was unkillable and I had turn meter reduction over and over again and no one to remove buffs... But otherwise - some champions are the first ever pulled with a certain ability and therefore worth their salt...
Had the same thing happen with demon spawn fw when allure went against skull crusher. He gets unkillable and she removes all tm. I’ve had to restart so many battles.

Delver is very good against Spider 20 when paired with Ghostborn b/c of her A2. Always having a guaranteed def down and weaken keeps consistent Hp nuke damage for Septimus and Royal Guard with Gurptuk. I used that method for a good while, until Hard Spider 10 came out. So for 20 and lower dungeon boss fights, she's quite good.
I Summoned Bergoth a long time ago, I actually use him in Faction Crypts and the PvE Arenas. Though, I do agree that either the Cooldown on Chem' Stench needs to be reduced, and/or the % to land increased. He hits hard for an Epic HP Champ' though!
I've seen Hexia smack pretty hard when paired up with Gurptuk Mossbeard... her passive syncs well with his kit. Relickeeper was my campaign farmer for a while... he farms 11-3, not 12-3.
Want a tip to help with Pi memorization? I'm not sure how many digits there are in the song, but the band Ninja Sex Party(they rule, trust me) has a song called "Do Math With U," which is a great tune in and of itself, but the end of the song has the singer just rattling off Pi to the melody of the song. That, in my life and career in science, has always been how I've memorized things. It's easier to remember lyrics to a song than it is to remember a rote series of numbers.
For Fearmonger I think he should get a passive where after every turn he becomes invisible and any attack that hits him gives strong decrease Spd, Atk, Def, and True Fear for 3 Turns as well as he is revived with 100% HP and Full Turn Meter on a 3 Turn cool down. Also wish he had dedicated Fear and Decrease Spd and Def attacks that hit like a truck.
Kinda sad to see Delver.. she's a big part of my new account I'm running, as she was one of my first pulls. Haven't put too much into her, working well in early game for the most part, but I'm like Sgt Shultz, I know nothink. The team is Tallia, Ronda, Kael, Delver and usually Painkeeper. Aight, I'm just starting this video and already loving it, my man. I've not been too lucky with legendaries on my account and, as such, have a ton of epics. I've always wanted to know which ones I should just sacrifice to my second Geo and Fenax to bring them to 60 but, well, the one I chose ended up being Morag who I now really really need for Faction Wars, lol. Shoulda checked with the community first! Will edit in more comments once I finish actually watching the vid, haha. Edit: yeah... so, I have all these champions with the exceptions of reindeer dude and Zii Ixchi, and yeah, I've been trying to make them work in faction wars at the minimum... Most of them are just carried by someone else but some of them are just amazingly straight up absolutely useless. Frankly, I'd put Yaga at No. 1 because well, at least a few of these guys at least have an AOE but Yaga is... probably unsalvageable. I was thinking of filling my faction guardians with some of these since I think I have 2x Hexias, 3x Sikara's, 2x yagas etc but I'm really tempted to just get them all to 5 stars and sacrifice them...
Thanks, I'm starting to get quite a few unfamiliar epics, and was thinking I should probably feed some to make space, so I followed through the video marking all these as potential food. I use the "Support Build" champion tag to mark food.
Relickeeper is a super weird inclusion. Easy to fuse early, he takes care of himself, he can hit hard, he can wave-clear fairly well, doesn't need annoying stats to build, big aura for fast campaign progress, has good synergy with early Relentless set rewards from events, list goes on. Tolf is an example of straight up vault material for 95% of players, if not 99.9%+ of players. He'll never have a useful place in the game aside from reducing shields and that's only if reducing a shield is mandatory.
The two great agonies of trash epics (and Leggos): 1) The art design is SO cool, and you really want to build that champion, but you just can't justify it because the kit is trash. For me it's Urticata; I just love her design, but you know... 2) You're pulling shards and you see purple or yellow. You're psyched...and then you get your 4th Hellgazer, your 3rd Masked Fearmonger, or your 1st Guurda Bogbrew. Also, I'm bald and have a way bigger forehead, so don't let the trolls get you down, Ash.
Interesting list. Like a number have already stated, when you don't have better champs, any champ is viable in faction war until replaced. If you have my luck you a) don't get to pull many, and b) when you pull they are all crap, so you make the best you can with the crap you have.

Just an idea Hexia rework Grave rot; Attacks 1 enemy at random, has a 30% chance (upgraded 45%) to apply 60% [Decrease Def] and 15% (up to 30%) chance to apply 30% [Decrease speed]. This champion heals by 7% of the damage dealt, and receives a shield equal to 4% of the damage dealt, and lasts for 2 turns (the shield can stack to 25% of champ max hp). If a debuff is successfully applied Grave rot will trigger again (this ability cannot trigger more than 2 times), and a 15 [decrease res], a 5% [decrease def], or a 5% [decrease hp]debuff is applied to this champ. Spirit harvest Reworked; 5 turn cd, 3 turn if booked - Attacks all enemies, damage is increase by 15% for each debuff on this champion (stacks up to 4 times, 60% /// with low/medium multiplier), reduces their turn meter by 8% for each debuff on this champion (stacks up to 4 times, 32%), additionally places a shield on this champion equal to 15% of damage dealt. + Aura For each debuff on this champion increase their defence, speed and hp by 7,5%(stacks up to 30%), and 15% increase attack for each debuff Aura Skill (5 turn cd???): Additionally, at any time if this champion reaches 4 debuffs, all debuffs timers on this champio are increased by 2 turns, their effects will be ignored for the extent of their duration, and a [block debuffs] buff is applied to this champion, then they are granted an extra turn.
Hey Ash, I got an idea for a video I'd love to see made. Can you do a list of what are in your opinion the best fusion/fragment summon champions Raid has released? I keep talking with my clan-mates about how great Ukko and Pythion are, but they keep telling me it was Brogni. I'd love to see where you weigh in on this discussion.
I use bushi and hes good in arena because he can be incredibly tanky and the guarantied crit is reeallly useful especially with the short cooldown on his kit made even shorter with relentless, you can one shot characters particularly like UDK if hes under a decrease defense and bushi has increase atk
I can't disagree with any of this because I always check your vids now BEFORE I build champions and thus am spared the misery. Much thx for these guides.
This reminds me a lot of MTG the card game and how some rares on up have sucky iffy abilities that depend x, y or z. Of course, I'd just chalk this up to the game developers having their off-days.
Poor Doggo. TerrorBeast was the first epic i pulled on my first account and he was a powerhouse that 4 years ago vs Fire Knight and resetting his health on kills. He's still a good doggo in my book.
Zii Ixchi is very limited in her utility, but she can do MASSIVE amounts of damage to her single target. ... but like you said, doom tower champs should bring a LOT more than a single target nuke.
Hi there! Delver was my 1st epic pull and I build her up to lvl 60, full booked, 100% crit and alot acc and she helped me in alot alot alot places, untill Coldheart I didnt have better heal reduction champ, I know her kit bring alot "if this debuff is placed then", but it look worse when you read it than if you use her ^^' I do not recommend her ofc and wouldnt build her again if see your vid months ago, but still. Shes not THAT bad!
man, we had a competition on pi day in my 8th grade geometry class for who could memorize most digits. i put it in my brain, night before. just rote repitition. made it to 104 digits or something. i thought theres no way someone would be me, and went to sleep. recited it to that point. someone beat me with 140 digits. like god dammit man. you can memorize ridiculous amounts of shit if you put your mind to it. i dont care for the memory palace stuff, seems like putting more work into your mind. but maybe youll retain those memories longer? two days later i couldnt repeat more than 10 digits. memorys some crazy shit!

The one champ you mentioned I can think of a ok use for well into the mid game - *BUSHI* as a spirit based stun target for Clan Boss to replace say for instance skullcrusher if it breaks your comp against the magic clanboss. He's also solid in the EARLY game as an arena smacker if you build him to one shot. -------- The rest I can't think of a good use for at all (outside of the very very early game for Relic Keeper). PS you have a point with *BEAST* - Beast Wrestler, Reinbeast, Rockbeast, Stitched Beast, Terrorbeast. -- All of them rubbish. **BUT** Klodd Beastfeeder is an exception, he's decent enough, apparently feeding the beasts is a lot better than Wrestling them in the raid world.
I use Septimus in the campaign for a reason similar to what you hoped would work for Relickeeper. Difference is Septimus is great, and not geared just for campaign, geared to be used lots of other places as well with good utility.12-3: 13 sec, 12-7 12 sec
Great video as always Ash 🫡 Hear me out. First off, agree to disagree. I definitely don’t think he’s the worst epic in Raid. There are far too many epics that go above him in my opinion. Relic Keeper has gotten me through so much playing raid these last couple years. Honestly, I still have a lot of niche characters to obtain that I keep not pulling and he seems to consistently get me through a lot of content. I feel the only reason I still use him is because he is built with 100% critical rate and high dps. At first I only used him for campaign but as I progressed through the first year of playing he became my go to for not only campaign but also arena offense when against mostly neutral and positive affinity, dragons lair progression, (until I had better champions) Minotaur scroll farming, (high survivability/carrying un-maxed champions) and also potions keep farming. Essentially he carried me through account progression for a long time until I had better champions for specific situations. I pulled him as an epic champion very early on before I was able to fuse him , so that definitely swayed my opinion on this champion, considering how important and account changing he ended up being in the long run for my account. 🤷♂️

Reinbeast is a total L here, is a2 can it sadly upwards of 60k w/o trying and his a1 is a pretty ok heal. Would not even make the list imo but otherwise great list. Keep up the good work 👍👍
Ash, no matter how many people disagree with champs on these lists, you are an AWESOME content creator. you don't need to apologize for having a different opinion of these champs than some of the commenters.
I must admit, Relickeeper serves two purposes: An occasional fusion during Summon Rushes, though I still find Broadmaw better for that, and filling up faction guardian slots. I think I might have used him early on in faction wars as well. Not enough to get him off this list.
Relickeeper is a third the cost silver wise for more than 60% the value point wise. Relickeeper is better for fusions based on pure efficiency. It's also much easier to get the rares needed for relic than broadmaw.
Lady Etessa would pair up with Connelia the sleepy dwarf girl. Cornelia puts them all to sleep and Lady Etassa gets the whole group to go to town on one to pick them off and if anyone isn't asleep she stuns them to give Conellia the full k.o she was going for when connelia initially attacked them all with sleep.
I completely agree Relickeeper is completely worthless worse than most rare chanps and Hordin is not much better. The only thing he is good for is fusing him for Champaign Chase tournament points and then using him for food in the Champaign Training Tournament.

As a new Raid player, here's my problem with this vid. This is a random gacha game. Unless you're rich, you can't afford to get "the best" in the game. And again random champions. I'll use what I get and try to work with them.

@@xxCatsAndDragonsxx Yeah, the reflect damage buff being amazing when the enemy has it only to become literally nothing when you have it is a bit of a meme.
For Relic Keeper, you have to remember that he's the first fusion in the game. First, as in progression. He hits relatively hard when you first get him, doesn't allow the enemy to get turns in while he heals and buffs up, and his force affinity makes him a great help to your starter in pushing through higher difficulties in the campaign.
Of course, he gets outscaled pretty hard, which is what's causing you to dislike his performance here- but, you have to remember: for accounts that are still progressing, who don't yet have reliable damage vs all affinities, he gives a very solid option.
Your starter champ is 5xs better than relic keeper. He's major trash no matter when/where you get him
Even if u dont use your starter, use Saurus.
A1 aoe smak.
A legendary Uncommon campaign farmer.

He missed the important part of certain provokes he bashed. Bergoth and Balthus' provokes are on for two turns.
24:22 the damage doesn't increase as Ripper's HP decreases, it's the TARGET'S HP decreasing that increases the damage.
I will say for Relic Keeper, he was huge for my start on Raid. I didn’t pick the best starter, and thus had an inefficient “nuker” arena team. Relic Keeper was able to fill the void and pop them off one at a time. For Spider wave 19 (force affinity) I had only a Magic team. Relic Keeper was able to get me past the run by killing spiderlings one after another, so they couldn’t kill my coldheart. Sure I’ve came a long way since then, and have fed that Relic Keeper but I believe his rankings are so high since everyone is forced to get him through Challenges, and he was my Ace for early-early mid game.
I think a lot of the popularity for Relic is that as FTP player you can get him rather early and in the lower and mid-game he's rather helpful (IMO). I absolutely stomp with Delver, maybe it's because I did her masteries early on.

Bergoth helped me in FW 21 bc of the Valk wave. I didn't have rector for healing at that time. But I honestly thought Lordly Legionary was going to be #1. Shocked he didn't even make the list, also Marksman not making the list is shocking, too.
Those two were probably 21 and 22 on Ash's list ;)
In a faction that only has 3 revivers, one being conditional, only one of them an epic and and all 3 of them voids, healing becomes massively important in faction wars. Lordly+Valerie, together with Lifesteal and Regen, is the only F2P way that can get you to 3 star Banner Lords, unless you luck out and end up pulling one of the very few amazing healers/revivers in that faction. He also has a decrease speed and decrease TM that are very handy against FW bosses. Lordly is not an awful champ, he just has limited use, pretty much only useful in FW and early FK.

@@dahammie8 well, Cillian is like Uber God tier in this faction given that he has an 100% 2 turn stun on a 3 turn cooldown, decrease speed, lots of TM control and other jazz with his passive. Even his A2 is amazing for the waves.
He can probably 3 star the boss all by himself with some random rares or uncommons.
Stag, Archmage and Giscard are also pretty OP in FW and Warcaster has unkillable, which ensures the 3 stars.
@@dahammie8 try beating the boss with some random epics and rares that are mediocre at best, while also not getting them to 6 stars or booking them.
for that, you need stuns and heals. Archmage is amazing but he can't consistently stun the rowan add by himself and unless you have the patience to run the fight until you luck out, you need another stunner. you also need decrease attack for the boss and ideally def down. having stag is great but if you don't, the limited available spots need to be filled with champs that do that consistent enough. you also need a damage dealer like Gerhard.
that's where Valerie+Lordly comes into play, not only that together they bring plenty of the much needed healing but they also serve other roles. Valerie extends buffs like increase defense and other jazz, and Lordly comes in with speed down for the boss as well as some TM control. On top of that, Lordly also comes in clutch as a second damage dealer, allowing you to finish the fight faster thus, decreasing the chances of the run ending by missing the stun on the Rowan add.
Bergoth actually got me through KR FW. He doesn't compare on power to other epic provokers, but KR have very little control below legendary and a 2t provoke against the triple Valk wave plus damage mitigation for that particular boss is a niche but special place for him
Miscreated Monster can give you much better value with his AoE stun+Shield. The shield can be pretty beefy too if you build him right.
@@Eli-uu4vt he absolutely can, but that's two epics in the faction Vs one of the hardest waves in the game. And while MM is good for that, his ally protection isn't good for the boss because he just steals it, so all he does for 21 is stun. Bergoth is just as good for the waves and a lot better for the boss.
@@kal2489 That's why I manual stage 21 unless I have a boss champ that does, literally, everything (such as, sayyyyy Relentless Scyl. Or Arbiter.)
Some of the champions you mentioned only exist to be waves on the way to the boss in the dungeon and in this case reflect damage definitely does the job especially when they have a lot of hp and you come with AOE attacks. And I really like relickeeper, it's very fun to play with him, especially in doom tower and faction wars
Love these vids, Ash. How about you put together a guide to Epics you would ONLY max out for Faction Wars? As in, they're useless almost everywhere else but if you get one and have a space, then build them for your FW team and then forget about them! I think that would help a lot of folks!

Have to disagree with Reignbeast. He was necessary for me to finish SW FW when I didn't have the damage and Plarium refused to release SW fusions. The hippo needed him for me to be able to manual it. Now the pig and the rat auto it so he's been retired.

If Hexia loves debuffs, she should have a passive that ignores the effects of the status decreasing ones(so she can still be CC'd) so she can do what her kit intended to do.

well i have a soft spot for Jurojin. he was one of my first 3 epics and used him at the end of fw for shadowkin. he's not garbage to me, he is part of my legacy. lol
Same here he was one of my 1st epics and since he ignored unkillable buff and I kept getting beat by maneater teams in the game he definitely helped me with beating me teams and any other champions that have unkillable buffs plus he's always one of my final champion left to raise the victory sword

It may be me but I noticed the Champions that have an arrow don't have the string for their weapon while the one that has a string on the cross bow has no bolt. Seems like both are missing a vital piece.
Ok, from a New Person's Perspective, who didn't spend a dime for like 2 years, Relickeeper was my main man for Campaign, and yes, Arena... Hell I used him everywhere. In a Lifesteal set, Crit Rate up, Attack%, this guy can smack, and was pretty tanky to carry me for so long into the upper levels. Sure, he may not be end game viable, but I don't understand a No. 1 Slot, and so much hate on him Ash, Relickeeper definitely doesn't deserve it... I don't even think he belongs anywhere on this list. Relickeeper is was kept me in this game, albeit casually for so long, before I started getting into this game more.

I'm surprised Maeve didn't make the list considering HH rates her as the absolute worst epic (and she was my 1st pull from a Sacred shard yay). I'd put her over Relickeeper but I don't think he's even close to worst compared to other champs.

I don't know guys, I think he rated them for their use, and to be honest there are way more better nukers and campaign farmers i guess, based in his trusty opinion.
I use a naked Bushi as a low power speed lead to duo with rotos.
But that's only for the quest beat a team with higher power in the arena.
Bushi will pop back up and potentially take 2 hits with the 24% speed lead.
I hate the quest but that's my go to.
I seriously don't understand your hatred towards Maeve. Her "And Stay Down" ability has a 7.15 miltiplier. Huge damage and blocks revives. She kills in the arena, at least early game. I have her fully booked with savage + speed set.
I admit I do not know how she compares to a pay to win late game team full of epics etc, but I was really happy that I pulled her and gave her all the love that I did, because at least in my opinion, I got a lot of use out of her.
That being said, what I would change with her is to make her A1 either guaranteed sleep with a chance of extra turn, or keep her sleep as is, but if it lands she automatically get a second turn (and possibly a 3rd and a 4th and so on and so forth.) Then I would make har A2 into AoE with a guaranteed chance to land a stun if the target is asleep for 1 turn, and if the target is not asleep, make it a 60% chance to stun.
This would add a more interesting setting for Maeve where she would be able to put enemies to sleep, possibly get another turn, then you can either move on and try to sleep another enemy, or keep chipping away at the first target trying to sleep it and farm more turns and then go in for the "And Stay Down" which could use a ignore shield, and take the enemy down.
When I use her in doom tower, I try to sleep as many as I can the first turn and focus damage on one mob. Maeve is, to me, basically a very good control champion, even as she is right now with a very high damage.
I use relickeeper as a campaign farmer until I have my eqp for fellhound. Farming 12-6 works a lot better and I get around 21 sec. I also use him in arena with ronda as leader and venus going first. He can hit around 100k between the attack up, aura, and venus debuffs. As long as I go first I almost always win, but avoid champs I know I can't one shot. Live arena he works good because no one ever bans him and I use the same strat.
Relic keeper was my campaign farmer back in the day. He was the only champion That I could get to solo brutal 12-3.
I like Delver, she helped me in the Spirit keep with the 100% heal reduction skill when I didn't really have other (reliable?) champ for this. And if you can get her very early, she is a decent nuker too besides your starter champ.
7:34 i mean the provoke is 2 turns which only 1 other epic champion has and barely any legendaries
Umbrall has it on an aoe though for 2 turns, and then goes unkillable
Relic keeper is really good for progressing campaign alot of people my self included got relic keeper for free at somepoint. Also he can one tap stage 20 mobs in faction wars if I'm not mistaken. No decrease defense*
Respectfully, I must disagree with you on the Epic Champion Bushi. He has become a mainstay in just about every dungeon (Iron Twins and Sand Devil Necropolis kick my butt every time).
I have him equipped with Relentless set, and when paired with Ronda, they become the dynamic duo, with Extra Turn (set bonus) and In Your Corner (Passive) working in tandem (I had 3 Extra Turns with Bushi and Ronda's passive activated on each Extra Turn, best round I had in a Stage 10 dungeon and Clan Boss).
He does require some investment to be tougher, and with his Revive passive, it is worth it.

As a new player, I face the occasional Relickeeper in tag arena and they are often troublesome because early game accounts primarly have worked on their starter and maybe Ronda for some of us, all of which are magic.

You can only provoke the head of decay though, right? Doesn't seem like it would add much to him for hydra then except a bit more damage per use of that skill.
Making it a 2 turn aoe would put him almost on par with umbral enchantress as a CC champ, though. But umbral has the 3 turn block buffs too so she'd still way outshine him.
Do you want Hellgazer to be buffed? Remember who Mortu's harem consists of in Campaign 12...
Terrorbeast needing a buff? Remember the big problem in normal Ice Golem?
If a player is unlucky enough to pull so many Yagas that he can be maxed skilled before getting a poisoner other than Outlaw Monk and Kael, I think there's a case to just use the cow anyway.
A little bit of context to Relickeeper: He was put into the game at a time when Summoners War had a ton of hype about a unit with a similar property of gaining a turn after killing an enemy because it was the meta campaign farmer. That was probably the oldest campaign farming meta in all of gacha games so obviously Plarium thought that Raid players would be all over that too.
I believe Reinbeast being used in couple of the secret rooms of hard doom (defense force afinity) tower as a healer/reviver (in pure "defense" Scyl of the Drakes might subsitute him):

i was playing when hording was released and i used relic+hording and they carried me SOOO FAR they are still carrying me to this day, (I'm F2p) I love that duo and feel they should get more love

Adriel was really important to my early account, but I need to bite the bullet and feed her soon. I put a lot of books into her, and she was my speed lead - because everything was mostly blue.
Always keep a copy of every epic/legendary champ. You never know when they will get a buff and become meta again.
I love your videos and I 100% agree with your choice Bushi! In two factions I left the battle on auto and saw later, that it reached 45 minutes because Bushi was unkillable and I had turn meter reduction over and over again and no one to remove buffs...
But otherwise - some champions are the first ever pulled with a certain ability and therefore worth their salt...
Had the same thing happen with demon spawn fw when allure went against skull crusher. He gets unkillable and she removes all tm. I’ve had to restart so many battles.

Delver is very good against Spider 20 when paired with Ghostborn b/c of her A2. Always having a guaranteed def down and weaken keeps consistent Hp nuke damage for Septimus and Royal Guard with Gurptuk. I used that method for a good while, until Hard Spider 10 came out. So for 20 and lower dungeon boss fights, she's quite good.
I Summoned Bergoth a long time ago, I actually use him in Faction Crypts and the PvE Arenas. Though, I do agree that either the Cooldown on Chem' Stench needs to be reduced, and/or the % to land increased. He hits hard for an Epic HP Champ' though!
I've seen Hexia smack pretty hard when paired up with Gurptuk Mossbeard... her passive syncs well with his kit. Relickeeper was my campaign farmer for a while... he farms 11-3, not 12-3.

I'm not sure how many digits there are in the song, but the band Ninja Sex Party(they rule, trust me) has a song called "Do Math With U," which is a great tune in and of itself, but the end of the song has the singer just rattling off Pi to the melody of the song. That, in my life and career in science, has always been how I've memorized things. It's easier to remember lyrics to a song than it is to remember a rote series of numbers.

For Fearmonger I think he should get a passive where after every turn he becomes invisible and any attack that hits him gives strong decrease Spd, Atk, Def, and True Fear for 3 Turns as well as he is revived with 100% HP and Full Turn Meter on a 3 Turn cool down. Also wish he had dedicated Fear and Decrease Spd and Def attacks that hit like a truck.
Kinda sad to see Delver.. she's a big part of my new account I'm running, as she was one of my first pulls. Haven't put too much into her, working well in early game for the most part, but I'm like Sgt Shultz, I know nothink. The team is Tallia, Ronda, Kael, Delver and usually Painkeeper. (Working on Kael and Painkeeper mostly, but ascending Ronda is also important) day 6, here we go! Good videos as always, Ash. Personal note, love the "toasty" soundbit!!

Aight, I'm just starting this video and already loving it, my man. I've not been too lucky with legendaries on my account and, as such, have a ton of epics. I've always wanted to know which ones I should just sacrifice to my second Geo and Fenax to bring them to 60 but, well, the one I chose ended up being Morag who I now really really need for Faction Wars, lol. Shoulda checked with the community first!

Edit: yeah... so, I have all these champions with the exceptions of reindeer dude and Zii Ixchi, and yeah, I've been trying to make them work in faction wars at the minimum... Most of them are just carried by someone else but some of them are just amazingly straight up absolutely useless. Frankly, I'd put Yaga at No. 1 because well, at least a few of these guys at least have an AOE but Yaga is... probably unsalvageable. I was thinking of filling my faction guardians with some of these since I think I have 2x Hexias, 3x Sikara's, 2x yagas etc but I'm really tempted to just get them all to 5 stars and sacrifice them...
Thanks, I'm starting to get quite a few unfamiliar epics, and was thinking I should probably feed some to make space, so I followed through the video marking all these as potential food. I use the "Support Build" champion tag to mark food.
Ripper, The destroy max HP is his niche Doom tower Scarab. I actually built him just for that.
Relickeeper is a super weird inclusion. Easy to fuse early, he takes care of himself, he can hit hard, he can wave-clear fairly well, doesn't need annoying stats to build, big aura for fast campaign progress, has good synergy with early Relentless set rewards from events, list goes on.
Tolf is an example of straight up vault material for 95% of players, if not 99.9%+ of players. He'll never have a useful place in the game aside from reducing shields and that's only if reducing a shield is mandatory.
I had Reignbeast before they nerfed him, it was so great. Shame they wrecked him.

The two great agonies of trash epics (and Leggos):
1) The art design is SO cool, and you really want to build that champion, but you just can't justify it because the kit is trash. For me it's Urticata; I just love her design, but you know...
2) You're pulling shards and you see purple or yellow. You're psyched...and then you get your 4th Hellgazer, your 3rd Masked Fearmonger, or your 1st Guurda Bogbrew.
Also, I'm bald and have a way bigger forehead, so don't let the trolls get you down, Ash.

Interesting list. Like a number have already stated, when you don't have better champs, any champ is viable in faction war until replaced. If you have my luck you a) don't get to pull many, and b) when you pull they are all crap, so you make the best you can with the crap you have.

This champion heals by 7% of the damage dealt, and receives a shield equal to 4% of the damage dealt,
and lasts for 2 turns (the shield can stack to 25% of champ max hp).
If a debuff is successfully applied Grave rot will trigger again (this ability cannot trigger more than 2 times),

I use bushi and hes good in arena because he can be incredibly tanky and the guarantied crit is reeallly useful especially with the short cooldown on his kit made even shorter with relentless, you can one shot characters particularly like UDK if hes under a decrease defense and bushi has increase atk
I can't disagree with any of this because I always check your vids now BEFORE I build champions and thus am spared the misery. Much thx for these guides.
This reminds me a lot of MTG the card game and how some rares on up have sucky iffy abilities that depend x, y or z. Of course, I'd just chalk this up to the game developers having their off-days.
Poor Doggo. TerrorBeast was the first epic i pulled on my first account and he was a powerhouse that 4 years ago vs Fire Knight and resetting his health on kills. He's still a good doggo in my book.
Zii Ixchi is very limited in her utility, but she can do MASSIVE amounts of damage to her single target. ... but like you said, doom tower champs should bring a LOT more than a single target nuke.

Delver was my 1st epic pull and I build her up to lvl 60, full booked, 100% crit and alot acc and she helped me in alot alot alot places, untill Coldheart I didnt have better heal reduction champ, I know her kit bring alot "if this debuff is placed then", but it look worse when you read it than if you use her ^^' I do not recommend her ofc and wouldnt build her again if see your vid months ago, but still. Shes not THAT bad!
man, we had a competition on pi day in my 8th grade geometry class for who could memorize most digits. i put it in my brain, night before. just rote repitition. made it to 104 digits or something. i thought theres no way someone would be me, and went to sleep. recited it to that point. someone beat me with 140 digits. like god dammit man. you can memorize ridiculous amounts of shit if you put your mind to it. i dont care for the memory palace stuff, seems like putting more work into your mind. but maybe youll retain those memories longer? two days later i couldnt repeat more than 10 digits. memorys some crazy shit!

The one champ you mentioned I can think of a ok use for well into the mid game - *BUSHI* as a spirit based stun target for Clan Boss to replace say for instance skullcrusher if it breaks your comp against the magic clanboss.
He's also solid in the EARLY game as an arena smacker if you build him to one shot.

PS you have a point with *BEAST* - Beast Wrestler, Reinbeast, Rockbeast, Stitched Beast, Terrorbeast. -- All of them rubbish. **BUT** Klodd Beastfeeder is an exception, he's decent enough, apparently feeding the beasts is a lot better than Wrestling them in the raid world.
I use Septimus in the campaign for a reason similar to what you hoped would work for Relickeeper. Difference is Septimus is great, and not geared just for campaign, geared to be used lots of other places as well with good utility.12-3: 13 sec, 12-7 12 sec
Great video as always Ash 🫡 Hear me out. First off, agree to disagree. I definitely don’t think he’s the worst epic in Raid. There are far too many epics that go above him in my opinion. Relic Keeper has gotten me through so much playing raid these last couple years. Honestly, I still have a lot of niche characters to obtain that I keep not pulling and he seems to consistently get me through a lot of content. I feel the only reason I still use him is because he is built with 100% critical rate and high dps. At first I only used him for campaign but as I progressed through the first year of playing he became my go to for not only campaign but also arena offense when against mostly neutral and positive affinity, dragons lair progression, (until I had better champions) Minotaur scroll farming, (high survivability/carrying un-maxed champions) and also potions keep farming. Essentially he carried me through account progression for a long time until I had better champions for specific situations. I pulled him as an epic champion very early on before I was able to fuse him , so that definitely swayed my opinion on this champion, considering how important and account changing he ended up being in the long run for my account. 🤷♂️

Reinbeast is a total L here, is a2 can it sadly upwards of 60k w/o trying and his a1 is a pretty ok heal. Would not even make the list imo but otherwise great list. Keep up the good work 👍👍

Ash, no matter how many people disagree with champs on these lists, you are an AWESOME content creator. you don't need to apologize for having a different opinion of these champs than some of the commenters.
I must admit, Relickeeper serves two purposes: An occasional fusion during Summon Rushes, though I still find Broadmaw better for that, and filling up faction guardian slots. I think I might have used him early on in faction wars as well. Not enough to get him off this list.
Relickeeper is a third the cost silver wise for more than 60% the value point wise. Relickeeper is better for fusions based on pure efficiency. It's also much easier to get the rares needed for relic than broadmaw.

Lady Etessa would pair up with Connelia the sleepy dwarf girl. Cornelia puts them all to sleep and Lady Etassa gets the whole group to go to town on one to pick them off and if anyone isn't asleep she stuns them to give Conellia the full k.o she was going for when connelia initially attacked them all with sleep.

Warden is great. Used him to push stage 17 Faction Crypt, level 50, no books, no masteries and as I discovered yesterday, no gear. Still 3 star.
I completely agree Relickeeper is completely worthless worse than most rare chanps and Hordin is not much better. The only thing he is good for is fusing him for Champaign Chase tournament points and then using him for food in the Champaign Training Tournament.
