I so enjoy watching ALL of your recipes! You remind me so much of my grandmother (we called her Nana!) She was originally from Alabama but moved to Corpus Christi, TX(where I was born and raised) in the 50’s cause my grandfather was transferred there with his job. She cooked alot like you, and had that southern draw just like yours, when she spoke! We all begged her to sit down and make s cookbook but she passed away when she was only 54 yrs young. You have really helped my marriage with your very EASY recipes! I’m retired now but my wife still works so I cook a lot of suppers now for the two of us. So far, she really likes every one of yours that I’ve made! Please make more! Take care from Bandera, Texas!

Even though they are simple, you really know how to add the special touches to the finished product. Love all your dishes and platters. You always have so many choices on your buffet. When and how do you plan what you are going to cook. Since you serve so many things at one meal , when do you start cooking for your Sunday lunch? I love having my family over but it seems like I work too slow. Can you suggest some make ahead meals and share them on your channel? I don’t have a big family like you , so it is up to me to do almost all of the cooking. On an average Sunday how many blessed people are gathered around your table? I have about 10. Thanks again for sharing your gift of Cooking and Jesus!
I love how you say 27 is chilly … I could not decide if you meant Fahrenheit or Celsius! 27 C would be killing me, far too hot and 27 F is short sleeve weather here in Vancouver, Canada! 😅this soup is so simple and I do believe I’ll make it this week. I’ll tell you though, I won’t be able to resist adding carrots, onions and celery, maybe some spring peas! I even add vegetables to my split pea and ham soup though! Lol

I made this today! I don't care if it's hot, I wanted soup! I used brown rice because I'm out of white and I added one jumbo diced carrot and a handful of fine green beans. Oh, I also added a little poultry seasoning, sage, ginger and celery salt. Hey, I can never just leave a recipe as I see it! LOL
Oh on more question, can I make a pot and save the leftovers? Just curious how it stores with the cooked rice. I will mostly be the one eating it and would love to make a pot for the week.
