- The great teacher Tsongkhapa tells us that “The human body at peace with itself is more precious than the rarest gem.” It does indeed feel like a rare thing, to be completely at peace in our body. But why is it so important? Building on last week’s talk on mindfulness and the gap, Sanghagita will be exploring how mindfulness of the body can unlock a deeper awareness of our mental and emotional states. When we cultivate presence in our bodies-whether through the breath, posture, or simple awareness-we become attuned to the subtle shifts of the mind. Mindfulness of the body not only fosters inner peace, it opens up the possibility of awakening for the benefit of all.
