Today we're talking about the Jurisdictional Command of Bakunin. Come for the strong independent women, canonical trans characters, *hugely morally questionable* furry fluff and the most drugs you can take in any faction in the game, stay for the well-rounded, feature-complete sectorial with a ton of depth and playability. Couple of notes for this episode: firstly, I'm going to refer to the Reverend Fireteam as an Observance Fireteam multiple times, when they're actually different things (the Reverend Fireteam is the core link and generally more useful choice). Secondly, I'm recovering from a very minor throat injury right now which I hope hasn't affected the quality of the recording but might make it a bit hesitant to kick off. As always, hope you enjoy.
I know that its a meme but I would love to see the triple-chimera nine-pupnik list in a battle report someday 😂 Thanks for all of the wonderful content, youve made this game so much more accessible for me and my group
I really enjoy the aesthetics and lore around Bakunin but find the list building too divergent. I agree on the it can do everything perspective. But thematically I have difficulty building lists for it. Good to hear other ideas on the sectorial.
Great and helpful overview thanks Rob! One thing that I thought interesting and can serve to round out your presentation would be... The Rounder. It's one of the good things Bakunin got from Reinforcements. New NCO unit, added MSV choice, and Marksman. The best way I've found to use her as cheap, dedicated #2 Harris fireteam gunfighter for a list. For JCB, your #1 is some form of the Reverend core, Riot Grrls core, or a Tag (Lizard or Stigmata +dedicated Hackers) But what to do about a #2 team with some punch, but doesn't put you into 25-30 points/ model cost range. Enter The Rounder in moderator Harris. Base profiles would be: 1 Moderator , Boarding Shotgun @ 9 points 1 Rounder with Red Fury @ 26 points 1 Orphan with Multi Marks Rifle with MSV2 @ 26 points. Rounder is lead with NCO can spend LT order, MSV+ a little Fiday mediation, 5 Fury shots at Bs12 and no cover will mean work will get done, especially at optimal range. She is very fragile. The whole team is! So morlock or zellenkrieger escorts are a good idea because smoke shooting is cool and can be good defense. The team is a better compliment to the Super Nun Team or something anchored around a Tag than the Riot Grrls, since the former 2 have no MSV gear. Options would be giving her the Hacker plus + Trinity profile and drop 3 points on the Orphan for an Engineer with repeater, and add 5 pts to Moderator for the Hacker profile. This could hacking supplement signatory Hackers (Uhahu, Zoe+PI-well), or a good hacking group on its own right when up against factions that are not CA or Aleph. Anyway thanks for the Bakunin overview and the chance to go round and Rounder.
I quite like the Rounder but in Bakunin it shares a lot of oxygen with things like Riot Grrls, so it's subsequently a lot less of a definitional piece. But definitely very solid - I really enjoyed using one recently in Tunguska.
Honestly this couldnt have come at a more perfect time - I've been trying to branch out from playing nothing but Ariadna, thought Bakunin would be cool to look into, and then boom, 1 hour video on them! Really helpful stuff, definitely want to try out the riot grrls core team
I genuinely wonder why Infinity is so big in Aus / New Zealand. As a Brit I'm surprised so many of the vloggers and podcasts are antipodean, is it just the distance from GW HQ ? :D
ah, my Kryptonite. I can't count how many times I've played against Bakunin since their recent redesign and lost. Very excited to get the scoop on how to do a bit of disassembly when I'm playing against them.
I am picking up Infinity again, and would love to know of a recommended list that has 1 or 2 squads of Uberfalkommandos / Chimera, the way i would like to play the list is basically a zergling rush from starcraft. I also really like hackers though, so i understand that I probably could not have a list that does both well.
This is a little bit speculative, but it fits double Chimera and at least a little bit of reasonable hacking and network projection. It's also a 23-model army which is just funny on its merits: gfcHYmFrdW5pbgEggiYCAQEACgCBrwEFAACBngEGAACBngEIAACBngEJAACBngEBAACBpgEEAACG0wECAACBnQEDAACBqQEBAACBmgEBAAIBAAYAga8BBgAAgesBAQAAhhwBAQAAhkcBAQAAhtUBAQAAgaYBBAA%3D There's a couple things to note with the list. One is that you have nothing for long-range guns. You have plenty of smoke (including eclipse) but the closest thing to actual long range is a single spitfire and missile launcher. I've also gone for a zellenkreiger over a morlock because it means you now have a whole bunch of warbands with structure, which zoe and fiddler can both help recover if they're downed. Alternatively, we can try something like this, which trims the entire three-person Riot Grrl haris and makes a few other tweaks to fit in a whole-ass TAG and some Cenobites. The cenobites will be free-running murder hobos here, moving up with the other warbands and making a mess. This will be much worse at doing classified but also simpler and more aggressive: gfcHYmFrdW5pbgEggiYCAQEACgCBrwEFAACBngEIAACBngEJAACBngEBAACBpgEEAACG1QEBAACBnQEDAACBmgEBAACGQwEBAACGQwEBAAIBAAUAgY8BAQAAgZwBAQAAgZwBAQAAhtMBAgAAgaYBBAA%3D
Rob actually put in his notes that he felt criminal not spotlighting them, but that he genuinely felt they didn't need to be covered as much in 2024 in the broader context of Bakunin. And I think he's probably right. They *are* still great pieces though.
@@R0bertShepherd Yeah makes sense, also they are prob less different in BJC compared to Vanilla than the things you did cover. I’d be interested to hear your take on sync Pi-Well though (and also sync vs taking the team as 2 troopers vs taking just Zoe). Save it for the Nomads one :)
I recently commented on the infinity discord about tables that looked like the ones in your videos, and the guy posting It answered "no it's not Rob from Canberra, it's Rob from Canberra". Anyway, I'm gonna call you LT now, since you got decoys (or maybe you are a decoy???)
One of the reasons Vostok + Engineer isnt particular common in Bakunin is CJC particularly and TJC, to a lesser extent, do it better. So while its not bad in BJC, if you play the sectorial for what makes it different, well, in Bakunin thats Very Angry Women.
I think you also see it more in CJC due to the SWC pressure where being able to link a vostok in Bakunin with a clockmaker and moderator pitcher or shotgun is extremely cost efficient but not something Bakunin really needs or cares about.
Technically you're discussing the Reverend Core not the Observance Fireteam. For reasons, they're different. :p Also is Kusanagi a joke to you? The technical high water mark is BS17 in a Pure Fireteam with her. Really enjoyed your takes though. Said a lot of it better than me with more nuance. 😀
It is a disadvantageous rule, but it's great because it discounts a model massively (I can't remember the exact amount but something like 5+pts). Riot Grrls and Moiras would all be much more expensive and therefore less appealing without frenzy and the associated significant points hike.

Got into Infinity with the Bakunin action pack. Love the sectorial and this video is perfect for learning how to use them
Wish you bookmarked the troops on the timeline. I’m new to the game and trying to figure out a starting team

Great vid as always! Keep up the pace!
This shiuld be a good video. Bakunin has always comfused me as their Profile and Firetrams are something i really couldn't get a grasp of.

Australia has a pretty big wargaming scene generally. GW games are very big here too, but we have a lot of enthusiasm for other games as well.
Plus, PanOceania started here 😂
Reverand custodiers surviving with their combi rifles. *Thousand yard stare*
Don't try to fight them under 16" with a HMG then. Simples. 😜
Love me some Bakunin, too bad I am too invested in Corregidor because of Crimson Stone lol but the crazy nuns are awesome at the moment.

"Avicenna is the best doctor in the game"
Rouhani: Am I a joke to you?
There are allowed to be two best doctors. And effective WIP18 is it :)
By the cost-efficiency ratio, the winner is probably a random no-name Ghulam

Metheor Zond was golden past ITS, since it would also qualify for the Tachimoto rule, so it would have marksmanship ^---^

Why are you saying frenzy is good? Honest non-sarcastic question. I play bakunin and it looks like a weakness rather then a strength to me.

You can counteract frenzy with fire teams. You get discounted models with no disadvantages until the last model or breakup of the fireteam.
>Avicenna is the best doctor in the game
Um Akshualyy Rouhani also has Doctor at wip 18 and nwi and costs 6 pts less.
