Glad this champion is playable again, ever since the item changes in this season start I feel he is really weak. Please post a smolder class from time to time, such a fun champion Great content as always
Dear Professor, thanks for the movie! But explain please - since Smolder is skill based, how does building AP change anything? AP or AD - the skill damage type stays the same right?
Actually, Smolder deals some magic damage on his Q, E and W explosion, plus all skills scales with AP in some sort. I think the point on this AP build is that Shojin and Liandry's have the same passive that grant % damage while fighting, plus you will have 3 "burn" damage: evolved Q true damage, % hp magic damage with Liandry and some more with BFT. Yes, Smolder is not a great AP carry in my opinion but if you are on a team with no magic damage is a good option to build like this. That is what I understood anyway :)
hey, there is a way to optimize build. if you build triforce into manamune, biscuits give more profit, since you are building max hp and mana p.s. i would like to see an overview of every build on him now. like what if you build ap mana items and manamune together like some kaisa. then at which point is it good to build deathcap if its even good? im an aatrox otp so i dont have time for it, but i would be very grateful for some kind of this, so im subbing. also try dark harvest
I feel like you don't need that much cdr on Smolder since his main ability Q has a pretty low cd on it anyways. It is still great to have cdr cause it makes stacking much easier but the haste you'll gel from that will amount to smt like 0.1-0.2 seconds when you're done level 9 with ER so I feel like you really don't need it. Bloodline on the other hand is really crucial since you won't get any lifesteal until 4th item, 3rd item at the earliest. And tear is not as good as the crit build since he gains a lot from crit, so he does just fine with ER. Might be an okay option for top lane, but still I feel like ER is just a tad better than manamune. Also because it makes it so much easier to stack with the stats it gives. If you want to opt for an tankier build then ER - Shojin into some tank items do the job just fine. I'll go as far to say that it is actually pretty damn broken. Since the stacks do most of the damage once you get to around 300 stacks, not dying makes your damage output even crazier since you can just execute people without taking that much damage. The tank path is pretty weak to lifesteal tho.
This is why I hate going against smolder so much, he can just sit back and farm and is perfectly happy to do so, but if you ever try to punish him and make a mistake then he's happy to kill you too. Far too safe, far too rewarding for the little effort you have to put in. I'm aware his winrates have been bad, it's still too rewarding.
THANK YOU YOUR VIDEOS ARE AMAZING

Great content as always
the "mom in front" trick is really useful, gonna try that out in my next solo q game!
i got a bad supp on smolder against draven, he goes 10/0 while i have 0 deaths then won the game lol
i was not expecting the maplestory jumpscare
Do you think smolder this patch 14.15 considering the nerfs to other ADC would be a tier 1?
Hello, Professor! I have a question: why in the second game there is a cull first item?
Why would you go ie if his q doesn’t actually crit

I normally go doran's ring first instead just for the mana regen.
I've been playing Smolder top as a counter pick and he feels really strong right now. He can poke and scale really safely.
why you don t do RFC before you go AP during the second game ?
Goat is back
Professor, one question: Do you always have in mind proc'ing your runes, such as fleet? I feel I may not give it enough importance, but I'm unsure.
runes are vital and you should think of them actively

he is heavily incentivized to build crit. scaling goes to 75% instead of the 30 it used to be
Always good videos.
Do you do coaching? i know you arent english youtuber, so i figured you wouldnt do that
Why IE ? Crit dmg dosent work on him
Professor, what about buying boots of swiftness? Is it better than ionia
swifties are pure bait on most adcs except like 2

(me i didn't know wtf I've been playing for 4 years)
How bout legend haste instead of bloodline, and tears 1st into manamune?

manamune doesn't give crit Q scales of crit

Smolder is like top 3 worst ADC in the game right now. He can barely win a 1v1 against supports pre lvl 6.
