I’m playing this again right now in the Castlevania Advanced Collection, and I must say, it feels so damn good to be reunited with this game again, as well as COTM and AOS. I had some fun memories when playing this back on my Gameboy Advance and GameCube Gameboy Player. Now Konami needs to release the Castlevania DS Collection with DOS, POR and OOE. Then finally the Castlevania 3-D Collection with Castlevania 64, LOD, LOI, and COD. That would be so damn great if they do. I did used to have all of the Castlevanias and the systems that they were on, but times of struggle and hardships had me sadly to part with almost all of my Castlevania games and systems.
This is a bit old, and a bit late in saying this, but Juste's dash shadow colour changes depending on what cloak he wears. Emerald cloak gives a green shadow, and Twilight cloak gives him a black shadow. And so on.
Maxim mode is like Richter mode from SOTN - all stats in the game are fixed (including your HP, MP, attack and monster's HP), so it takes fixed hits for you to take out any foe - there's no levelling.
+supermaxi accept Sotn is better than harmony of dissonance no offance I like harmony of dissonance is just it's the sound track it's So Annoying and irritating I l Iike Sotn better.........screw it the truth is I like both Sotn and Harmony of dissonance

This some how proves that Juste is the most OP Belmont but the only thing he haven't accomplished is to face the actual Dracula himself. Justifiable because he wasn't given the opportunity but if he really does, I'm pretty sure he can beat Dracula no problem.

Harmony of Dissonance came after Circle of the Moon, with design choices that are evident of such. Making the entire game super bright and making the main character outlined was directly a response to complaints about the more dreary colored and harder to see Nathan from CotM. Even the difficulty was toned down in Harmony of dissonance, because Circle of the Moon was so hard.
COTM was a far better game in my opinion. So much more of a challenge and a lot more fun. HOD felt just kinda depressing and monotonous. The music was generally trash with a few memorable tunes. COTM was like the most fun.
is there anyway to go through the wall in maxim mode? like people's speedrun maxim mode videos, i saw them go through wall going straight to the last boss and stuff
hi buddy sorry for my english, i have a secret, in the room where you find the ring of Vlad U can get it form the fist time that you seen it wihtout double jump, frist do U have to get sacred fist+ice book, then jump to ring & use the spell sacred fist+ice book and you can get it from the start! U can do the same thing wiht a "hearts max" & "antivenom" before the ring of vlar and where is the logoth's ring, and i can get the walk armor before the super jump, just wait for a while & use the ghost

ok... where do you get the keys for the rainbow colored doors and the red vampire looking doors and how do you get to castle B ? all i found were teleports that put me to different layers of the castle not a completly different version of it

It's also super OP when you realize the second one can be manipulated with your constantly shifting position. This means the 2 will never connect, and the top one will damage enemies and never shrink
@tehremnantz Rainbow colored = You have to beat Maxim. The other key: I think it's in the caverns in Castle B. Those warps are the ones that takes you to Castle B. The first warp to Castle B is on the Clock Tower, after you defeat the Giant Slime.

The hint cards are essentially useless, except hint card4/5 which helps you teleport. Using a walkthrough when you are stuck is the best bet, this game is probably the most cryptic/obscure of the post SOTN Castlevanias.

OOE was my least favorite on the DS. The difficulty was cranked up and it seemed as if it was missing an important element.

This game. This game is breaking me. I can't find the hint cards and when I do. They are as bad as Simon's quest hints at times. I sort of hate this.
