*"Let's go."* *"Bring it! AKIYAMAAAA!"* I love that glorious For Faith that plays during these final fights. Akiyama's version (Four Face) really sets the tone for the rest
Oh man, the set up for the Finale was incredible in itself, then each of our protags get their own boss battle on the roof of Millennium Tower as all that yen rains down around them. And then each fight has its own version of For Faith/Four Face playing as well, really brings it all together of this shared journey between the four of them.
Indeed, brother. The four final bosses in RgG4 make up for the best finale in the series (not including RgG 7, since I am mid-game, and haven't reached the final boss yet). The final bosses in RgG 5 were kind of _meh_ , and the final boss in RgG 6 is the worst boss in all the series. As much as I liked 5 and 6 in terms of gameplay, storywise they were not needed. Sega should have jumped from RgG 4 to RgG 7, and in between regale us with RgG spin-offs that allow us to play as bosses we fought in previous games, like Kazama, Hayashi, or Nishikiyama.
@@pp-vf8ls I don't think Saejima VS Kido was dumb plotwise. It was cool to experience a fight between the wise, experienced yakuza versus the young, ambitious yakuza. Especially since we took the role of the older guy, which is the opposite of what happens in videogames usually. However, I can see where you are coming from, and want to point out that in order for that fight to be fully convincing plotwise, Kido and Saejima should have interacted more and appeared together in more scenes. Considering those two don't share much time together on screen, one would expect for Kido to be a boss, but not a final boss. But anyway, the way it turned out was not _that_ weird or unnatural. Just needed a bit more fleshed out relationship between those two. Plus on the bright side, Kido's version of Four Faith is incredible, and I like his "refined street fighting" style quite a lot.
My favorite dynamic intro, well pre-Yakuza 0. This fight awesome gets me pumped to suplex someone off a roof and have a mirroring divekick with someone too!
True, but since he was undercover, it's still kind of strange that he has no tattoo - if he wanted to blend in with the yakuza, he needed to do all the usual yakuza things, and the tattoo is one of the most important yakuza traditions.
@@PAPride95 Well, that would become a major problem for him in the future, many companies refrain from promoting or even hiring someone with a tattoo, let alone becoming a cop. And this is also Japan, where tattoos like that also represent allegiance with the Yakuza, so that would be a really big problem for him later
That actually IS impressive Akiyama. He removed all his upper clothing without ripping it but tearing it off all at once. It's so weird seeing without irezumi though
@@yaboi2500i didn't like daigos fight because I felt like they horribly wrote Daigo in that game and made him super out of character, the reason to fight was too cheap. Then his gameplay itself was annoying on top

Regardless of everything, Arai did show some wisdom " you can't turn back the clock, regret serves nu purpose". Maybe that's not 100% true, but it's close enough
How exactly is a slacker like Akiyama such a hard core fighter? I mean, I love his character. He's one of my favorites. But there was never any explanation for his abilities.
That's the one mystery I don't understand about him as well. People say it's implied that he was taught by Arai how to fight back when he was saved from a bunch of homeless hunters, but I honestly don't know about that.
My theory is that he had to learn how to fight being that his profession was a loan shark. You encounter other loan sharks throughout the game that also know how to fight with no explanation other than the fact that if the borrower doesn’t wanna pay or is being difficult, they would have to throw hands. Kinda like if you enter law enforcement, your going to have to learn how to shoot a gun at some point since it is an aspect, albeit unwanted, of the work.
@@MBStudios or maybe he learnt his fighting skills when he was a homeless? Being homeless in Kamurocho is a nightmare when you don't have fighting skill
@@satrio303 that’s also true. He does mention he was beaten up by some thugs after the Millennium Tower explosion until Arai rescued him and said he was inspired. It would make sense with his background since all the other characters have their own reasons for learning how to fight (Akiyama through being homeless, Saejima and Kiryu through being yakuza, and Tanimura through being a detective)
Am I the only one who wished Akiyama (and Tanimura and maybe, Munakata) took off their shirts during their final battles? I mean, I know they don't have tattoos, but still. Who wouldn't want to see their sexy, action figure abs?
I kinda like the fact that they don't, if only just because I think suits just, well, suit them too well for a final encounter compared to the shirtless thing.
Yeah, I guess. They could have made it up by having options for being shirtless for every playable character in the Premium Adventure though, espually for Tanimura, since I don't really care for his other alternate costumes that much. What costumes would you have included for the characters?
Kamran Dadashov They don't have to be Yakuza to be shirtless. Who wouldn't want a shirtless moneyloaner? It'd certainly help attract more clients that way. I can imagine Tanimura, walking around in just his pants and shoes, imitating criminals while on the job. If he wants, he can even wear his tie (just without the shirt and jacket) for the sake of fanciness. As for Munakata, probably for character development reasons to show how pathetic he truly is when he tries what the other guys did in a attempt to scare off Tanimura, but he has a beer belly, so... Maybe just have one of his elite swat members be shirtless or something.
Hilversumborn he had the most potential as a final villain in the game. No way in hell kido was going to be strong or tough enough to put up a competitive fight with saejima, daigo has already been beaten and shown to be a lot weaker than kiryu in 2 so again not very competitive, and munakata is another run and gun wimp that hides behind other people like jingu.
I can see why akiyama doesn't use his hands the one time he did he threw arai to the moon lol
