The true Demi-fiend experience, with no Repel Phys demon switching. Not gonna lie, this was rough, the full debuffs/buffs, misses, critical freikugels, status ailments etc. Parvati even got a 10k Media heal off at 41:55. No Gaea Rage were triggered, everything was killed within turns but he was so close to use it on the end. Took about 6 attempts, and had fail runs around the 40 minute mark where he was nearly dead. Just to get screwed over by random misses, Gaea Rage or his instant KO Chaotic Will. Demon stock 16 but only 14 out of 24 demons were used. Well, sorta 12, I pulled out Zeus and Odin for the finale as shit started to get intense and MP started to run out for the last stand. Even if he would have pulled out a Gaea Rage, I still had an endure, it would have been interesting to see what could have happened. I’d say this is a legit run of how to do Demi-fiend and is very comparable with the Digital Devil Saga. With this, I feel that I’ve accomplished Demi-fiend.

This guy has not just beaten Demi Fiend in DDS and Smt V in hard he also defeated him in hard without repel phys He defeated this same Guy three times, i would not even stand two minutes against him Kudos to you man
The actual impressive part is he did it without Accursed Poison to just seal him from being able to use Gaea Rage. Frolic, Slumber Vortex, and Makajamaon on top of that keep him and his whole party unable to act half the time throughout the entire fight too. The Demi-fiend fears Muu Shuwuu.
For this video or potentially next crazy bosses, my Buff master, can you please include a list of "things that went wrong" in some way? I absolutely love this fight, not only because of the scale of the task and the non-cheese, but especially because it wasn't some perfect storm; I cringed at that first chaotic will killing nearly everyone. Your dogged determination and improvisational skills are a deep encouragement to everyone, new or old, in this community!

The sheer amount of grinding, and essence spamming needed to get there is really something. I do not have to time to do this nowadays and will probably not be able to defeat hard demi fiend any time soon. But nice content.

But there are no more games like SMT out there, and this is why it's so special. I'm glad that someone else understands it, too.
@@MastaGambit Dark Souls is seriously good, but the term "the Dark Souls of X" is total Kelpidung. For one, the action RPG genre had many challenging games before Miyazaki transformed it. It's also a completely different skillset challenged. And I feel people totally misattribute what makes Dark Souls and SMT great in their own way. Dark Souls and Demon Souls were good because they were mechanically mysterious games with thick atmosphere. The game would not foister its plot on you, but present you with a world where the plit has already happened and you can piece it together for yourself. All challenges come from rhythmic pattern dodging and twitch skills. SMT, too, has amazing atmosphere, but uses a very unique, punishing combat system that rewards attentiveness and forward thinking. It's setting enveloping all cultures and mix matching them into an esoteric fairy tale world make it unique and wonderful. I wouldn't want to miss either, but they're totally different beasts.

I'm finally preparing for Shiva/Demi-fiend! I'm loving these inspiring and informative videos. A few questions/confirmations: Is Murderous Glee > Critical Aura for a Murakumo build? I can't tell what would have better DPS, as I heard Glee doesn't improve much more crit chance. Consistent Murakumo's and pray for crit, or guaranteed crit and accuracy in two turns. I'm never to have my entire party with Null Phys, because of the DF's Gaea Rage, right? If it makes too much difference, I'm on Hard. I won't have access to Reflect Phys or NG+ Demons, as this is my one and only playthrough. I'm also aware of the Figment Slash+Adversity builds for both bosses. I decided that I wanna defeat them legit before I have fun with the corny stuff.

Beat him Legit on Casual + Normal. Going for a Hard Mode attempt next. My Normal attempt was originally a Hard attempt and I got my ass kicked. Hopefully I can get him on Hard on my next run with more experience and Balms. I run Shiva / Tandava / Double Pierce Magatsuhi w/ Idun + Figment Slash builds, But I’ve noticed I’m one of the few who run Figment Slash, most do Murakumo. It’ll be interesting to see if Hard Mode forces me to switch to a Murakumo Build. I’ve also been able to beat him on Casual/Normal with Figment Slash builds with only 5-6 total people including MC, but Hard I have a feeling I’ll have to do like this and create a bunch of Strong Demon’s with different Elemental Magic to keep up with all the BS RNG that goes with this fight. I also haven’t been running any Abysmal Mask but that will probably change as well. Damn I hope I can beat him! Fun as hell fight, super Hard. Atlus was showing no mercy with Demi-Fiend, even on Casual.
and then next SMT boss will include demifiend as DLC boss but with raidou, dante with his DT, stephen, beelzebub with his boss stats in SMT 3, daisoujou, trumpeter and black frost (SMT3 hee-ho last form) with demifiend is ingested with masakados
I’d say this is better than the DDS fight, as here, you’re allowed some leeway on what to do. In DDS, you had to not only be very specific on what you brought and did, but also pick a god and pray that RNG doesn’t screw you over. Yes, there’s RNG involved here, but at least it’s more forgiving than DDS. Also, I’d say Atlus should get you to help out on a potential future third Demi-Fiend super boss.
So, interesting thing I kinda caught onto... Demi-Fiend in this one is a bit different from his appearance in the Diamond Realm appearance in Apocalypse. How so? ... Well, listen to his voice in both. He only ever speaks in brief instances in Apocalypse, but when he does, his voice has the same effect that the demons do, but in this, it's normal. It's strange, but also kind of interesting...
in DDS, you can't Null/repel/drain or else you will eat gaea rage first turn. In SMT V you can repel/resist/drain/null. You just can't tetrakarn/makarakarn. Not only that, you can afflict ailments on demi in SMT V, as well as completely skip his healing in SMT V. You can't do any of that in DDS, and even then, Demi has a scripted Gaea Rage you have to deal with. On top of this the only way to deal with it is to use a sleep passive that makes it so that you dodge all attacks while asleep, but if the enemies Dormina misses, then you are instantly dead. Original Demi is way more punishing. Also Instant Death is always an imminent threat, since SMT V changed it so that you can only die from instant death attacks if you are weak to light/dark. On top of this you cannot stop his javelin Rain/Xeros Beat in DDS with almost always guarantee a status ailment on the team.
Gaea rage is the exact reason, why he is so hard to beat in DDS. You basically have to deal enough damage to the Demi-fiend himself, before killing his demons, and you also have limited time to do so AND limited uses of Close Call for surviving Gaea Rage, as Pixie's or Parvati's Lullaby is not guaranteed to put the character with Null Sleep to sleep. Not to mention, if you screw the transition to when he uses it, you are basically screwed. In terms of strategy, it requires you to utilize all your knowledge of the game mechanics, and have a distinct sense of priorities for actions like 'remove buffs," 'revive character,' 'deal damage,' 'heal ailments or don't." The hardest part of that fight, is getting through the Ghirimehkala's and Arahabaki's instant kill spells.
This was a month ago but as my friend, who introduced me a month or 2 ago to SMT and Persona said, nothing applies to everything in SMT/Persona. You need to hard counter the boss' weakness. Also while Nahobino's stats are set you can fuse as much as you want and you can trade in jewels to get Agility, Luck, and Vitality. You still get some on level up which is why I say 100% Magic or 100% Strength. You also get Magatsuhi skill in very beginning that gives you crit.
Man, I need to get the Deluxe version of this game, just so I can bust my balls trying to beat the everloving shit out of Demi-Fiend only to get Crit Feikugeled.
Wow 😳 Im struggling with this boss fight I try a bunch of strats and to make matters worst I fuck up leveling my Nahobino it has like 99 of strength and 101 of magic since its my first playthrough 😅, so I can't do much damage even if I buff up a Murakumo to deal twice the damage and use luster candy, debilate, plus a critical (without using critical zealot) I can only do about 4000 of damage 😔 and I tend to start running out of MP around half way through the fight it sucks that the boss heals himself when ever you lower its hp to half it literally took me like 24 min!! just to do that 😅😅 I hope I can beat Demi- fiend one of these days 😅

I’d say this is better than the DDS fight, as here, you’re allowed some leeway on what to do. In DDS, you had to not only be very specific on what you brought and did, but also pick a god and pray that RNG doesn’t screw you over. Yes, there’s RNG involved here, but at least it’s more forgiving than DDS.
Also, I’d say Atlus should get you to help out on a potential future third Demi-Fiend super boss.
In the next games, you'll be fighting Nahobino doing his Tsunami and Omnislash shenanigans. XD

... Well, listen to his voice in both. He only ever speaks in brief instances in Apocalypse, but when he does, his voice has the same effect that the demons do, but in this, it's normal. It's strange, but also kind of interesting...

Can someone explain why he is harder to beat in DDS? I thought it was just because of Gaea rage but I think I'm wrong
in DDS, you can't Null/repel/drain or else you will eat gaea rage first turn. In SMT V you can repel/resist/drain/null. You just can't tetrakarn/makarakarn. Not only that, you can afflict ailments on demi in SMT V, as well as completely skip his healing in SMT V. You can't do any of that in DDS, and even then, Demi has a scripted Gaea Rage you have to deal with. On top of this the only way to deal with it is to use a sleep passive that makes it so that you dodge all attacks while asleep, but if the enemies Dormina misses, then you are instantly dead. Original Demi is way more punishing. Also Instant Death is always an imminent threat, since SMT V changed it so that you can only die from instant death attacks if you are weak to light/dark. On top of this you cannot stop his javelin Rain/Xeros Beat in DDS with almost always guarantee a status ailment on the team.
Gaea rage is the exact reason, why he is so hard to beat in DDS. You basically have to deal enough damage to the Demi-fiend himself, before killing his demons, and you also have limited time to do so AND limited uses of Close Call for surviving Gaea Rage, as Pixie's or Parvati's Lullaby is not guaranteed to put the character with Null Sleep to sleep.
Not to mention, if you screw the transition to when he uses it, you are basically screwed.
In terms of strategy, it requires you to utilize all your knowledge of the game mechanics, and have a distinct sense of priorities for actions like 'remove buffs," 'revive character,' 'deal damage,' 'heal ailments or don't."
The hardest part of that fight, is getting through the Ghirimehkala's and Arahabaki's instant kill spells.

This was a month ago but as my friend, who introduced me a month or 2 ago to SMT and Persona said, nothing applies to everything in SMT/Persona. You need to hard counter the boss' weakness.
Also while Nahobino's stats are set you can fuse as much as you want and you can trade in jewels to get Agility, Luck, and Vitality. You still get some on level up which is why I say 100% Magic or 100% Strength. You also get Magatsuhi skill in very beginning that gives you crit.
DDS2 Shiva has more animations than SMT V Shiva

Wow 😳 Im struggling with this boss fight I try a bunch of strats and to make matters worst I fuck up leveling my Nahobino it has like 99 of strength and 101 of magic since its my first playthrough 😅, so I can't do much damage even if I buff up a Murakumo to deal twice the damage and use luster candy, debilate, plus a critical (without using critical zealot) I can only do about 4000 of damage 😔 and I tend to start running out of MP around half way through the fight it sucks that the boss heals himself when ever you lower its hp to half it literally took me like 24 min!! just to do that 😅😅 I hope I can beat Demi- fiend one of these days 😅
