    Brilliant video, thanks. Could you possibly make a video about OBs for fault finding profibus slave devices, e.g comms failure due to wiring problem or salve device itself is down or rack failure?

    I'm trying to setup S7-1200 Profibus PLC to Anybus Communicator to control ESAB Aristo 1000 AC/DC Welding Machine. Have document ESAB PLC Integration guide. Purchased Siemens Starter Kit. Have Step 7 configured to TIA Portal. Not sure how to configure and send data word to energize welding machine. Not sure how GSD file works. Can you help?

      Unfortunately, that would be a bit too complex and specific to cover in a video but our Automation Dept. may be able to help if you send us an email!

    The dip switches at 3:56 indicate address 6

    • @ScantimeAutomationTraining
      @ScantimeAutomationTraining  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It looks that way however it's the angle, the first dip switch at the bottom is to indicate whether the Slave is to use the physical switches to assign the address of if it is being programmed. The next switch up is 1 and the switch above that is 2. This makes the address 3.

    I will never play along with the monopoly of Allen Bradley and Siemens, whoever wants to make these companies richer welcome, I have had projects for more than twenty years working and making upgrades with PLCs from different brands, they do the same!!! More economical!! And even in some cases, better functions such as Rest API, OPC UA, it seems like a robbery to me that just by checking a box on the portal they charge you 1000 dollars just to enable OPC UA, that's it!!
