  • An successful morning at the confluence of the Russian & Kenai Rivers in Alaska. Woke up at the Russian River campground and walked down to sockeyes stacked up waiting to be flossed!

This section of the Kenai/Russian confluence hasn't opened yet in 2024 "The Sanctuary" hopefully we get the Emergency Order soon.... the run has been a lot slower this year so far

Just experience you want to cast into the blue edge the the fly will floss the fish. Tons in Seward

What an awesome video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge about the Kenai River. Just curious about your waders...why don"t you use waders with boots?

Thanks. What do you mean waders with boots?
These waders have wader boots. I have other ones but these tend to be more comfortable and offer more secure of footing which is important in the fast flowing water of the Kenai.

@JacksonBaumgartOutdoors my apologies. It looked as though these waders were separate from the boots so to me it looked like water could leak in.
I am a newbie to Alaska fishing. Looking forward to a real world education.

@@carolbarranco838yes so these ones have a neoprene socking area and then you wear a separate wading boot for more support. If you’re just getting into it you’ll be fine with any waders though. Good luck if you go!
