Use wrist straps when your grip fatigues or for super heavy pull type lifts. Using them for certain exercises like the leg machines or back exercises could help tremendously to focus on muscle-mind connection. However, chalk should only ever be used at the racks as it gets everywhere and is rather difficult to clean.
The only time I use a belt or wrist straps is when I try to break PR or when I up the plates for the first time. I then drop weight and remove my belt for the rest of the sets.
When I want to work on grip, I do grip focused exercises. When I want to focus on my muscle group and use heavier weights, I use straps. I never understood the logic of loosing gains in dead lifting or wtvr exercises because you are worried about grip strength........
I’m quite new to lifting weights and have noticed my hands sweaty. Is dry or liquid chalk better to purchase? Sorry for noob question but I haven’t been able to use either to know.
Dry chalk is significantly better but you cant use it everywhere. Liquid chalk will do the trick in gyms that dont allow chalk as there is nothing really left over
I just got wrist straps for my rdl's im at about 45lb dumb bells and my my last set i am slipping 😅 and twards the end of my dead lift set. Im newer and havnt gotten all the lifts and thats all ive noticed i need them for

I know this comment was 8 months ago so you may have already corrected this, but i used to have the same thing happen when i benched. I stopped using "suicide grip" and wrapped my thumb around the bar everytime. I also found huge benefit in imagining a line from the bar, into my wrists, and into my forearms. When i focused on keeping those aligned i quit having issues with the bar slipping. Then my problem turned into wrist strength once i got into the heavier weights. I now use wrist wraps when i bench at 85% or more of my 1RM.
@@Alien00420 yeah I don’t use suicide grip, my palms would start slipping side ways, I just started using chalk when benching and that solved the issue cuz then my palms wouldn’t be so moist.

I'm buying chalk for my heavy t bar rows I've never used it
Nope, a belt prevents hernias. It is very beneficial.
Probably so many people on social media platforms wearing straps and belts because they’re selling straps and belts. Cha-Ching.

You need straps to do an actual full bodybuilding workout. Grip won't last session....
Yep, but only use it when your grip starts to fail
Will it help ease callouse pain when deadlifting?
