Slash (curly guy😂) is my favorite guitarist and will always be in my top 10 favorite artists. I know there are guitarists that are faster, etc but Slash's solos are touching me on an emotional level and that's the most important thing to me when it comes to music

The tone change that happens at 1:54 is Slash changing from the neck pickup to the bridge. You can see him move the toggle switch from the up position to the the down position. I've seen these guys live a couple times. Both Slash and Myles are amazing. Check out Myles doing "Watch Over You" the Billboard acoustic version.

That mumbling thing you mention, a lot of musician does that, others say they do it subconsciously, others say they tryna sing the notes that theyre playing. Its very common especially in virtuosic playing, so maybe it helps them in some ways or they are just so into it.

Slash doesn’t need to be the best he can hold his own. He played with the best all over the world. He’s right up there!
He (Slash) is just mumbling "the notes". When you're 'in the zone' your mind, mouth, hand whole body works as one. When you're that focussed the (physical as mental) challenges he's enduring show through facial expressions/reactions.
Overall just expression through music. Basically it means he's speaking with his guitar.

Slash (Guns n' Roses) is the one with the top hat, shades and the long curly hair. He is the lead guitarist and all the higher tones, lower tones and solos are from him! The guy is legendary and you can see why!

NOW also love the original emotion involved with the reaction, in other videos you can hear your accent come out when you are just talking but when you really like something your R's are rolled more is quite interesting to hear people from around the world react. Eu poderia ficar vendo seus vídeos a noite toda!haha Slash ( com o chapéu ) é uma maquina, uma das lendas da guitarra, sou um grande fã dele, quando você diz que ele estava murmurando enquanto tocava no final na verdade aquilo é uma reação de quando nós guitarristas estamos concentrados e focados no que estamos tocando e acabamos "perdendo" a concentração das outras partes como a boca, não foi uma boa explicação, mas eu no meu caso acabo repetindo com o movimento da boca o som que estou fazendo na guitarra, meio que involuntário, logo você vai entender acredito. Guitarristas normalmente fazem caretas enquanto estão tocando haha

The only guy you need to recognize is Slash, the opening shot guitarist wearing a top-hat (as he almost always does), one of the greatest rock-guitarists ever (imo), has played with every top-name ever from Michael Jackson to Guns'n'Roses (which he's best known for). Oh, and Myles Kennedy, the singer, is worth a mention. :) Finally, the drummer is wearing a Motörhead T-shirt, a great band you and every other TH-camr has missed (the loudest band ever!). Since you are learning guitar, i wanna share one of the best advice i ever got back when i started: Learn to use your pinky finger when playing, it will give you the ability to play more intricate music and chords will have more power to them
Edit: The mumbling thing is very common, it helps with keeping time and also is a little memory booster for upcoming parts
yeah, very rarely do I see brilliant guitar players who don't use their pinky often ( like Sarah Longfield, for example)

SMKC are a brilliant live band. I'm a huge Myles Kennedy fan away, he's the best rock vocalist alive as far as I'm concerned but the more I have seen and heard from this band the more impressed I am with Slash. He's such a guitar icon that I figured he was all style and little substance but he's one of the most gifted improvisational players out there. Not particularly technical but that really doesn't matter with his tone. Would love to see you react to their acoustic Max sessions. Myles amd Slash do incredible acoustic versions of Patience and By the Sword.

I know Slash when i was a kid, first video that i saw is “sweet child o mine live in tokyo” n then i keep following Slash till right now. I try to lesson about Guns n Roses, every song n every member. Slash is the one of Rock n Roller, he’s wild, he’s the beast, n when you heard any song of GnR there is a wild part or something that make you know “oh..that Slash playing this part” or you just know that was Slash, n when you heard the new GnR in Chinese Democracy…that’s just Axl, there is no Slash right there, n you know that when you heard. Slash bring the meaning about Rock n Roll on his mind in every project that he was involved, Guns n Roses is the wild one, Velvet Revolver, Snakepit, n other. He just really really freakin’ Wild at Rock n Roll.

the reason why he looked like he was mumbling is because he is feeling the notes he plays. when you look carefully, you can see that his mouth's shape matches the notes.

Tall hat is Slash Biss, well it’s his stage name, his real name is Saul Hudson. He’s the one that turns my pop music into rock, well thanks to mom as well😂 Oh yes, the vocalist is Myles Kennedy. Myles also appeared as cameo in one of movie called Rock Star (2001)

You should definately check out Gotten by slash and Adam Levine from maroon 5, also i think you would really love Beautiful Dangerous by Slash and Fergie from Black Eye Peas. Just wanna say the entire Slash album rocked. He did songs with Lemmy from Motorhead, Ozzy Osbourne, Miles Kennedy and so on. Every song on the album was so well done, do yourself a favour on your rock journey and check out the whole album, im pretty sure it was just called "Slash" but could be wrong.

I don’t know if that’s the same Gibson Les Paul that Slash owns and plays very frequently live that is worth well over $100,000 and he said in an interview that he doesn’t mind devaluing it because of its sound. It’s a guitar he picked up for super cheap before guns and roses became really popular.
It's not the Chris Derrig Les Paul, he doesn't use that any more and it's worth millions. He uses his own Gibson Les Paul Slash Signatures for the most part with the special ones like the Derrig and Jessica used for studio recording mainly
