I noticed on earlier video the loss of Wylie's Bait &Tackle. This was a regular stop when my uncle, cousins & I fished the coast. My heart goes out to everybody. Hope time can lessen the hurt, thanks again for the fine coverage...RF
I lived in Ventura for many years and drove the cost line hundreds of times over the years. Seeing this is just a shock. I worked on so many homes along the hwy 1, It is so sad. My heart and pryers are with everyone...

What do you mean by " Nature is so cruel " ?? GOD created the Earth & the Universe so beautifully beyond comprehension but human beings adore to destroy each other out of greed , hatred jealousy . Warmongers to this day are planning to nuke others until their own nukes boomerang to themselves then " AH !!! you are so good & others are terrorists "
I want to take this time to salute the first responders Fire fighters, Aerial Pilots, LAPD, SHERIFF dept and the many volunteers who helped the fire Victoms who lost everything including loved ones, pets, friends, from this horrific fire disaster. A big thank you to LA DA Nathan Hochmann making sure that justice is served to those Arsonist, Looters and those who preyed on the fire Victoms in price gauging. I don't live in So-Cal but I surely felt the pain and loss. God bless and keep the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ to see us through these difficult times.
Having worked in many of these homes over the years, I still wonder why people find this place to be so beautiful? In reality, which there seems to be very little of around here.... You live on a freeway, in a fire zone, against an ocean...
So what's your point? It's beautiful to millions of Californians and other people in this Country and the World! I'd probably fall down laughing if I saw where you live, bub!
Obviously, many people love being next to the ocean and it’s pretty rare that the fires jump the PCH. Their homes are insulated to block the traffic noise. My husband and I used to vacation in a motel on the beach in Malibu and it was fun for 10 days each summer. The late actor, Ryan O’Neal, lived in a house on that beach for decades including with Farrah Fawcett. Sadly, that house was destroyed in this fire. I live in a small rural mountain town and cannot imagine living in NYC. To each his own! 🎉
scrap wire probably has a resale value in bulk. Wires going to a property are probably the power companies so removing it probably removes legal ilabilities associated with the wires being downed even a disconnected wire is still often considered associated and down wires may be a power company liability even if not energized. Its sort of mind blowing to see places burned down right next to sand and water.
Especially with the highway in the middle but the wind was blowing embers ahead of the firestorm thus catching everything and anything in it's wake on fire and the 90+ mph winds caused it to rage like Dantes Inferno
Please stop calling them ‘Hollywood” Celebrities. Give them the space and the respect they pretty much deserved. They are grieving over their loss and are trying to rebuild their lives from the ground up
Everyone else was waiting for the rubble to be removed so that they could go in to search for a body in the car that was buried when the garage caved in. One other man had to document with video what they were doing at the site. No one wants to be sued or accused of theft. Also, note that while they were waiting, some were eating their lunch. I heard yesterday that approximately 40 are missing.
What strikes me as odd is how the fire burned stuff close to the beach on the opposite side of Pacific Coast Highway you'd think the highway would act as a fire line or fire break
The fire doesn't spread on the ground. Burning embers are blown by the Santa Ana winds for hundreds of feet or more and they set light to combustible material they hit. This is why you'll see spot fires develop far in front of the main fire on a hillside. There's a lot of examples in the news footage, especially obvious at night.
My apologies for your loss. I lost my first house and car earlier in the year. I can only imagine how much disruption this is causing for seniors. Atleast you had the home for 65 years there are many people who have been living homeless. The personal loss is emotional but there are people suffering far more such as in Ukraine in wartorn areas with family's lives lost, limbs lost and loss of everything. You can be happy you were housed for 65 years and have memories of stability rather than memories of being in a warzone or suffering famine or other awful things, it is all relative.
@WilliamAshleyOnline You're absolutely right! I had an incredible childhood growing up in the Palisades. I say my prayers everyday and am empathetic for others. They are people 100 times more unfortunate as I am. I blessed..... I'm alive...🙏🙏🙏
It’s heartbreaking to see this devastation 😢 While I understand what they’re doing in searching for remains, it’s got to be incredibly difficult as they would literally have to search each ruin for hours with a fine-toothed comb in order to find anything 🤷🏻♀️ Is there not an EBS that can go out to locals and have them report in to each property they owned to narrow down who might still be missing?
They're probably now allowed up yet. Geesh the judgment from people who don't know what the situation is. You can't just let everyone free roam around the burn.
Thank you for explaining in the video, that debris is being removed so a vehicle can be searched. ❤. What a job ! Even finding that there was a vehicle there.😳

No, they were moving rubble so that Search & Rescue could search the car that was under the rubble for a body. Notice after that, the moving equipment was on a trailer ready to go to the next site. Thankfully, I don’t think they found anything.
I'm sorry but They're not looking for bodies in the beginning of the clip. No probing tools, no shovels to move loose debris, only lifting up small piece of roof when there's 2-3 floors in that home to search through. Look at all the refigerated trucks in the lot. They already know the death count is going to be high.

The PCH usually does work as a fire break. I guess it only takes an ember orvtwo.
