Nothing like a show about hoarding to make me clean my house
Working on mine right now too.😅
Fr
I know what you mean, I hate clutter and mess. Right now I am wishing I could find someone to buy all my Native American pottery.
I live in hope by watching enough clutter n crap hoard videos that il overcome my laziness, back pain and procrastination to tidy my house n put it all in its place…I’m still waiting lol😂😂😂but getting a lil better
@@deniseroe5891see if there’s an organisation to do with native Americans/culture etc who’d be interested in buying it for display etc..
This lady could be a child’s story book reader.. She has such a lovely voice.. When our children were little I was forever wanting something I could turn on to read a story to our kids.. I loved reading to them but this ladies voice would have been magical ❤️
Jane, right? Her accent is like a royal, beautiful! I just want to hug her
Agreed! If she reads this, she perhaps could consider starting her own TH-cam channel where she reads stories for children!
OMG you too? lol, im enamoured..
Martin has a terrific sense of humor. "I've got to have something to wear, otherwise you're going to get me arrested." Cufflinks that say, "I'm am extremely handsome & These are not my cufflinks." What a hoot! He also has a beautiful black cat. Nice, grateful man.
I'm in tears laughing at them 😂
I love the ladies that helped Martin would listen to their beautiful accents all day.
My mother was an organized hoarder. house looked good. every closet was filled to the brim…she had kept clothes from her honeymoon in 46. she kept baby clothes, toys, books, and all the stuff from both grandmothers. currently my sister has a tiny house filled with Mom‘s stuff and an entire shipping container. My issue is books…books were where I hid from anxiety. My mother was a bad cook…I am a very good cook so my other stuff is kitchen stuff. But I have gotten rid of over half the books and almost half the kitchen stuff. I want them all gone…before I turn 80. have a few years, but do not want my kids have to deal with any of it.
It seems like every person who suffers from hoarding has suffered from some kind of emotion pain. My heart goes out to them.
Same with the My 600 Lb life folks. Just shows the importance of dealing with those traumas. I hope they all get help.
Yes. ❤❤❤
Yes that is exactly how hoarding and addiction starts, it’s comforting or filling a hole. Healthy minded people don’t eat to death or clutter to death. It’s all mental health issues
100%
The first lady should narrate story books 😅
absolutely
Hilarious
She has a MELLIFLUOUS tone and I love it
She is brilliant...the most non-blaming and acceptable human. Love love ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕
Yes, I keep expecting Mary Poppins or Nanny McPhee to show up…just a spoonful of sugar!!
My mother refused to allow my father to bring his stuff in the house. Dad’s garage was a nightmare! When he passed it took days to clean it out. Depression, WW2. He would bring things home from the dump. Thanks Mom. If you had let him our house would have been bad too.
Love the way Martins cat sits stoically amidst the clutter
When the retired nurse didn't remmebr if there was food in the hidden fridge, it hit me that part of the hoarding problem is dissociation. I think hoarders disconnect from reality and don't see the stuff as an issue.
Yes, they absolutely must. If something sits long enough it becomes part of their landscape with little daily recognition.
So so sorry about Two Socks. So hard to lose a buddy. ❤😢
Thank you for helping these lovely people understand why they hoard, positively processing the trauma off loss that causes it. Seeing their new selves priceless and their new homes awesome.
This show makes you clean your house. .😮😮
I’m American and I’m having a hard time understanding Martin’s words but I understand his feelings of grief for his friend. 😢❤
The nurse lady has a lot of cool lamps and books about art. Creative streak. The guy has a set of very high end Bower and Wilkins audio speakers. They have so much nice stuff buried in all that junk.
Wow. I wasn't familiar with that brand of speaker. Very high end indeed. I'm glad he can now enjoy them again.
The first lady has a very soothing voice. I could imagine her recording audio books. Lovely 🤍🪽
It’s so peculiar the difference between the UK and the US with these hoarding shows. In the US it’s marketed as a horror and the people that live in these homes are selfish, despicable abusers. In UK, they are so soft and admit the issue. it’s the same disease, but the attitude of the affected patients between the cultures couldn’t be more different.
As an American who just found this channel, I completely agree. The UK version is so much kinder. ❤️
Socialism helps society.
This show isnt so dramatic but still look at this lady, she calls them and now shes against anything, really annoying person
@@Anna-te5qc yeah, their thinkers don't work properly in lots of ways sometimes.
@@Jagraawrr it annoyes me so múch but this lady has really nice voice, she can be so rude and still everyone likes her 😅 i should learn how to do it
My kids are 49,47, and 43. Grandkids are teens. I give things to pre-schools, food pantries, and other local programs. Craft items go to seniors' programs. Tina, Al's wife
So good to see Judith kept on top of things until her very sad recent loss. So sorry she lost Two Socks. They really are like our babies when we love them that much. The fact she reached out again for help shows how much she truly wants this for herself. I hope she has a wonderful life and can stick with it. I think she will.
This is the first ever episode of hoarding that made me cry as I relate all too well with Martin and his grief…Jane as well. The kindness of all who came to help is what the best of humanity is about.
I'll never understand why they allocate only 4 days to these mammoth tasks...
Anything longer and they’ll be sucked into the psychosis of it
@@Allslove 😂
Maybe exposure to all the mold/dust? Lessens the exposure. Also probably costs more to have them there for a longer period of time.
It's refreshing to see a realistic clean up. Showing that it's impossible to get rid of it all and redecorate in a few days. They get rid of the worst and clear enough space for them to move around, wash, cook, sit and eat and sleep in a bed.
Funding
It’s unrealized grief. The unrealized dreams that thought they’d have with xyz, the future, the things they’d do. Etc, etc.
Watching hoarders from UK is totally different from hoarders show in US. In US they bring in several dumptrucks/dumpsters and have 20 movers and cleaners and do in 3 days. Family helps too. Hoarder usually gets madder than hell before all is done but most love the outcome. Here she still has a place to sit! Thats Hoarders by A&E channel, they do show here
One thing I've noticed is that the houses here in the US tend to have a lot more square footage, so there's a lot more to collect stuff.
I can understand very well. My sister grew up with very little. She discovered that shop sales and auctions were sources of cheap items. She was obsessed with not missing out on anything she could possibly use and acquired an awful lot of rubbish. She kept 60 years of newspapers. Her husband died young of a heart attack. The tendency was always there, but her loss turned her hoarding into a total illness.
Oh my goodness, i totally understand wanting children and never having them. it really hurts and it is hard. I was married 18 years to my late husband who was unable to give me children. Adoption is expensive and difficult.
But get a dog or cat. No that doesnt solve the problem, but it sure helps. Filling your house with stuff is not the answer.
Adoption should be the key, even if it s difficult ❤
Animals will never disappoint you unlike children can, once they grow up.
@@sophiegolden If you adopt outside of the foster system and things like that it can be more than $15k... plus you have to make sure you have all of the items for the child still. That is a lot of money that people do not have. It makes no sense. If someone has the money to give a child a home and the items the child needs why should they have to pay $15k or more? So sad and frustrating.
No. Not for everyone. I wish I did not get a dog...especially since I should have had therapy instead. XD
@@jadelynn1703 there is always a way to raise a child not your own... Just be smart
I’m currently cleaning out my room. I completed treatment for cancer and starting to feel normal again. I’m single and didn’t have anyone to do things around my apartment so I got behind. It’s nothing like these houses but it’s not up to my personal standards now.
So happy for you, hope all is well ❤
Hope all is well, treatment is hard. Good for you on finishing it! 😊
At lest she has her nephew, my heart broke for her when speaking of her longing for children.
I wish she’d chosen adoption
I wish she could have had children.
@@seanabadalich9112 Can single people adopt? I hope so, but sadly I don't think they can? Or maybe they can now but weren't able to in the past.
@@AS-qg1xu She was married when she wanted to start a family. Whatever the rules then, they didn't affect her.
Hoping they all let the things go. Especially Jane, she still has too much.
Every time Martin gets choked up, I do too.
Hoarding might be a coping mechanism for fear of death. As long as I have this and this project..I'm going to do this and sell that.. Many of hoarders deal very poorly with deaths of loved ones and pets.
Poor lady she seems so lovely
Thanks for the Upload
So sorry dear Judith. Prayers. 💖💖
Wishing her well and the others, bless them.❤
God bless you ladies. But utter joy on their faces is priceless. You are truly godsend 🙏
This hoarder has THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VOICE I’ve ever heard. She should be doing voice overs. I’m floored.
I love hoarding videos. That keeps me living as minimalist. Especially when I need to move
I will never ever ever ever understand how people who work in PUBLIC HEALTH can live like this.
❤finally we see counsellors. Much needed
This always makes me grateful I do auctions on TH-cam to keep my treasures spreading around the world and not all over my house. Bless these beautiful people. Grateful for TH-cam 🙏💜🙏 Stay Strong and supported 💪💋
Jane's house is still very untidy and cluttered. There are boxes everywhere so how can she say there is space for guests? It will be interesting if the team goes back in a year!
She was really mean to cleaners but with calm voice 😅
Mental illness is also very real..
I feel many "hoarders" are coping with a loss. Just trying to hang on to something that they lost, which hurt their heart beyond seeking help. Because there are pains that you can't share sometimes, that are too deep. You don't understand that abyss until you fall in...
💯and beautifully stated
Love her self- awareness. Out of denial is a huge first step.
Why are the British so friggin nice? The American hoarders are just so mean-spirited.
Jane still has way too much stuff, that kitchen wall is unbelievable.
Some hoarders do this because of what happened when they were growing up.
A person I know had a mother that was not one that you would want, the daughter dealt with it by hoarding. No matter what you do to help, she won’t change the hoarding.
She refuses help.
Heart goes out to Judith ❤
I don't want to sound mean, but closed captioning for Martin would have been ideal. I didn't catch a large portion of anything he said.
The Welsh accent is charming. You just have to get your around the tune, because everything in Wales is about singing.!
@@SadieMy The accent is indeed charming, but it was still incomprehensible through much of the episode.
Wel, I understood every word. Scottish accents, on the other hand, are incomprehensible to me!
Terrible speech impediment - NOT English!
I watched it with captions. I totally get your point. As an Aussie, I struggle with many UK accents.
Seriously, she could be a voice actor or a narrator in fairy tale movies.
I kind of truly understand why she correct her children's stuffs after they didn't come to visit if she get rid of it = she will lost everything that reminds her about them. That's very sad.
I'm going too work on one of my closers today . My house is not cluttered but my closet is .😅
oh dear i saw Paşabahçe in those piles. its famaous Turkish glassware kinda expansive. i feel even more sad 🥲
Also the first thing I noticed!
A lot of teachers and nurses on Hoarders. In US show too.
Yes I have seen that
I love the way Jane talks. She sounds like such a sophisticated lovely lady. The problem is this mess is getting in the way of her potential.
This is sad,I couldn't live like that.
Love Martin’s sense of humor! Jane and I are the same age. I understand her feelings at not having children, but the Lord did give me on and I am so blessed to have him. Took me seven years. I truly can’t imagine living like this. Hopefully they will get it cleaned up and keep it clean. How can you let your home be destroyed by your mess?
I've been watching these and seeing people with no place to sleep, sit, or cook. Ladt night I dreamed I was surrounded by elderly people in nursing homes that were getting shelves and tubs to organize their hoards as birthday presents.
Why do these shows always make me feel better about my life?
I love watching this to clean to
All three of these people still have way too much. I sure hope they get rid of more. Just unbelievable how much stuff they have.
Jane‘s grief is visible. and she will not get better.
Ckeaningbisvjystviartbifvtgd problem, people need mental health care.
How did Judith's teeth go in just one year?! 😳
I can not believe it unless she is getting caps ? or she had caps and they fell out ?
😮yes! she need help to remove and put some
I love throwing things out.
Goddammit give Martin a hug! I hope Judith's teeth are getting the cover they need, I remeber those times.
And Jane.... such a soothing voice and accent, I just want to listen to her forever and ever
Hope Jane was able to get rid of more things.
Omg, im not even noticing the mess, i love her voice! 😍 lol
I feel for hoarders; they really aren’t truly lazy but have underlying mental health issues.
So much underlying sadness and loneliness
Martin has an excellent sound system.
I’m not at the end of the video but I’m getting the feeling Jane’s house is not salvageable.
All those crack in the ceiling and walls. Sad she let the house go to pot. Canned foods are very high in sodium. Not something anyone should eat too much of
She should make ASMR videos - got a great voice for it
I hoard fitness magazines. I'm 61 and can't get rid of them
At least you admitted it. I wish you all the luck in the world!
Honestly, I love the way the brits explain themselves. So polite and realistic. Polite truth. No blame. Just politely accepting the nonsense.. yes, I'm fucked...cheers!
💯🎯‼️
Except Jane feels ashamed of herself (the fridge part). No reason to. I just love her so dearly. Wish I could hug her
Thank you
The serious lack of orthodontia and dentristy in some countries, or at least the health insurance to cover such needs, is appalling! That one woman's teeth were nearly nonexistent, they were so rotted. This episode was filmed in 2021, so that's VERY surprising and disappointing that a First World country offers no affordable dental care.
Jane's little house could have been/could be so cute and downright charming....at least, I know exactly what I'd do with it, and some of the things she'd collected could have been put to excellent use. But it's not my house, so....
So true in KY in the USA so many people walking around with no teeth.
They have good dental care. She is suffering from serious depression, and they tend not to take care of themselves, given up. Plus stress of losing a loved one and being isolated.
This has been a stereotype for many years about the English. They don't - didn't - put fluoride in the water. Braces were not a common practice. Things have changed, and younger Brits have jumped on the American bandwagon of bleaching their teeth, stripping off the enamel, to have teeth as white as a toilet. The glow in the dark fluorescent teeth thing is still seen as tacky and classless by most affluent Brits.
@@tranzco1173 she may not spend any time on self care is my guess
I think may have either lost her crowns/bridge work or temporary crowns.
@@smoll8746 That is what I was thinking as well.
The problem with long term hoarding is that it literally destroys the house, walls, floors, architraves, doors, windowsills etc. The stuff sits up against it and it rots. Hoarding doesn't just destroy lives it destroys houses.
I had a ton of batteries fall on my head, they were loose in a container stored way up high in a closet hoarders laundry room, she acted delighted, I was nearly killed, her husband scolded me like i was an idiot. I'm never shocked at the emotional abuse that a hoarder can hurl, I mean, they store heavy lose objects in numbers up high, in like a murder game of sorts, this makes sense to them, only the crazy can find new ways to build a murder house.
I’m sorry Jane didn’t adopt children.
Umm that lady is still a Hoarder and the 10,000 boxes that look AWEFUL! I didn't see any transformation at all!
They did say it was a work in progress. Having a safe path is a terrific start. She has a good attitude and can finish one box at a time. I trust she will flourish.
Am I the only one who thinks, Janes house is still a mess? I wouldnt let anybody in there After the decluttering as well 😮
he have such a beautiful black cat.. in the end we see the cat in the couch
Yet to meet or encounter one single human who is 'normal' and doesn't have 'problems.' Just doesn't exist.
She's a very strong inspiring woman!!
The retired nurse has delusions of sanity.
The cleaners have a lot more patience than me id be getting rid of stuff not waiting
I watch cause I get some pretty good tips
I don’t want to be cruel but Jane’s home still looks horrendous to me. If it’s functional for her I guess that’s all that matters.
GREAT SHOW 👍 OFF TO DO SOME CLEANING 🧹🧼
And the cat is keeping a low profile ❤
its good to clean but i dont like the way they put in same container without separation of stuff ...
Jane should do audiobooks. She'd do Pride and Prejudice justice.
Why do I feel the “I couldn’t have children” thing is just an excuse for the hoarding. Her mental illness goes much deeper than that. So sad for all these people.
i like to see this ... help people when they want
She needs professional clinical psychologist
Nice N802's with a Krell S300i 😅
So sad to see people carrying so much pain. 😢
She has a beautiful voice
Do wish they'd properly donate. It's awful that they throw much away without sending it to someone else that can help
It’s covered in rat poo and pee
She’s destroyed her house bringing garbage into the house.
English homes are TINY and I still see a ton of boxes in them. How is this better????
I sometimes wonder if these English hoards would not look so bad if they were spread out over the space in most too large American homes.
No, a hoarder just fills the space equal to the size of the house/space. Sadly so. 100%
@@KathrynTanner-t8f A hoarder will fill ALL the space available to them, whether one room or 10 and that's something the show has mentioned and one of the reasons the brain needs to change
They are still too crowded. The US ones are just insane.
