As a French person it’s strange to see their name in English, I remember in school we had to learn them like Philippe August, Charlemagne, Francois 1er, Henri IV, Louis XIV and of course Napoléon Bonaparte
Thank you for this presentation. On my father's side of our family, we are related to the Capetian kings for just over 300 years and probably to some of the cadets, the Houses of Bourbon, De Blois, and. Valois. It was nice to see portraits of them. I wonder why Robert l isn't included? I'll have to catch up on French history now that I know I'm not just from the British Isles/Ireland.
Tambien vas a hacer el de los emperadores de japon? Ese seria un video muy largo Y mas largo el de los faraones egipcios Creo que por 3000 años hubo faraones y emperadores japoneses por 2500 años

It's due to the 100 years war. During the succession crisis of 1316, when the last Capetian kings dies without male heirs, the French nobles supported the claim of the cadet Valois House for the throne, their were the closed male related to the last Capetian kings. While the English king, which was the grandson of the last Capetian king Charle IV from his daughter Isabelle, supported his claim. Basically, French based their claim for the throne on the basis that only male could inherit titles, while English based their claim for the throne on the basis that male and female could inherit equally. It was not that English were progressivist and French sexist, they just supported the succession law that benefited them the most. So later, no French women could become Queen regnant, as it would legitimize English claim on the French throne. While no English women could be refused the English throne, as it would delegitimize English claim on the French throne.
Correct. From Clovis ‘till nowadays we never had a female at the lead (only regency). Like USA (but it’s a young country). In this case we found Rome (Monarchy, Republic, Empire), Persia and probably Japan.
@@nshoofficial No. He used a picture of Philip IV instead of Philip III. So there are 2 pictures of Philip IV in the video and 0 picture of Philip III.

Robert I isn’t included because he was king before Hugh Capet, who is considered the first French King. Anyone before that is King of the Franks.
Thanks you for your very interesting videos.
