Edit the default Procreate watercolor brush for better results

If you are not happy with the default Procreate watercolor brush, then follow my tips to change it. Please let me know in the comments what do you think of this! Did you try it?

Thanks for the awesome watercolor brush! I have downloaded a few that I like alright, but they didn’t give me enough pigment variation. This one can be slightly adjusted to achieve a better acrylic paint brush as well.

Just start and you will see that it’s not that complicated. Make sure you duplicate the default brush before you modify it 😊

Some of the brushes are verrrry nice that you can buy. I don’t think this one brush can replace all watercolour brushes out there, but it’s a good start 😊

What a great brush! Unfortunately mine doesnt work that well... it doesnt overlay on itself when i go over the same area in the same brushstroke... any idea on why that could be???

Hmm, maybe check under Rendering that it is set to Light Glaze. And if you’re using a third party pencil, it also might not work that well with pressure sensitivity.

The grain source is Gouache wash it was quite frustrating to find because you didn't say what it was called, it was also the most played part of your video btw. My brush didn't look like yours so that was no good.

When you go into the brush settings, click on Apple Pencil and adjust the size under pressure. That might make it bigger.
