Chris, I was the biggest Anderson Silva fan during his run, and when you came and dethroned him I remember not wanting to like you. The fact that anderson broke his leg against Chris and hall was silvas last ufc fight and chis broke his leg on the guy that retired silva in the ufc is crazy af. But loved the podcast the respect is amazing to see
I spent years trying to get my son into MMA. When he saw Silva vs Weidman one, he looked at me after we were done dancing and celebrating and told me, “I have a favorite fighter now.” 😊 🥲 How can you not like either of these guys?!!
I’m in rehab now. I had an injury and got addicted to pain killers for 8 years. I’m a month sober now and feel so much better without that haziness in my head. Much respect to Anderson for not taking it, I wish I had done the same.
Chris this is absolutely fantastic. I must be honest, I always despised you for the Anderson fights. Anderson was and is so beloved by the MMA community, that his losses were not seen as your victories - you were just the guy that stole Anderson from me. Over the years, my perspective on this has greatly changed and the humility and grace of this interview only furthers to establish you as a class act and world class athlete in my eyes today. Thank you for this. Wish nothing but the best for you moving forward brother.
I felt the same all these years and although I know I was wrong to feel like that, today I saw this podcast and it completely changed my opinion about Chris. Chris Weidman, you are a class act. I hope you get well soon.
This was so wholesome.... I'm from India and Anderson got me into watching MMA... When Chris beat him I was sad... But that's the business. But I love Chris too.. genuine dude..great work.
These guys are class acts and we can all certainly take something from this. Two guys that inflicted physical pain to each other now having a casual talk airing their experiences and grievances. Pure gentlemacy and professionalism right there.
Silva speaking on respect in MMA and how it gets lost when one goes pro is real stuff right there 💯 The business gets in the way of the art form for sure
I still remember when Anderson came back from the injury and won the fight against Nick Diaz, after Bruce Buffer announced the winner he laid on the floor and cried like a baby. Image what it got through his mind at that moment.
Honestly I hated you for years just because I was a huge Anderson fan but seeing you lately and following you on you’re recover I feels for you I also went though a traumatic leg injury so when it happened to you I couldn’t help but send my respect I don’t wish that upon anybody I hope you recover quickly and safety and I’ll be sure to give a follow.
Not afraid to admit it, I cried when I saw Anderson in pain, specially because he was always my favorite fighter, and I kind a hated you after that (but not for long 😂) and I cried when you broke your leg. I could not believe the crazy coincidence and again the misfortune of seeing a great fighter breaking his leg.
that night when chris broke his leg was the first fight that mi wife watch in her life. she start do cry and hate the sport for that "how can a men submt to a thing like that? he broke his leg! why he do this????" hahah first and last fight that she watched haha
I've said it here before and I'll say it again: as I watched the fight and saw Weidman celebrate after Anderson broke his leg, I was like: what kind of person celebrates a victory like that? The gentleman fighting him showed a completely different approach. He seemed genuinely shocked and worried about what had happened unlike what I saw from Chris when that happened, at least in the first seconds right after it. Silva is a legit gentleman. The man never trash talks, respects his opponents, a true gentleman! I'm just really glad Weidman understood that what he did was wrong and apologized to Anderson. That was the right thing to do! I hope he recovers soon and is able to provide for his family.
@@sharpsam25 I did! In the end of the comment I wrote that I was glad that he was man enough to recognize he was wrong and apologize! I'm hoping he has a speedy recovery. I think him knowing or not that Anderson's leg was broken doesn't make him celebrating look any better. He saw, heard and felt the impact of the kick on his leg. Again, I'm glad he didn't feel right about it and apologized to Anderson. I also think this was a great 1st ep! I'll be definitely watching the upcoming ones...
Woohoo! Looking forward for more episodes! Guests I wanna see: GSP, Matt Serra, Rockhold, Bisping, Chael Sonnen, Firas Zahabi, Cowboy Cerrone and many more. Congrats Chris!
Chris Weidman is a UFC legend, one of my favorite fighters, really humble, respectful guy, he had a amazing reign as MW champ, loved the way he beat Anderson Silva back in 2013 and his incredible title defense against Lyoto Machida in 2014, happy to see him healthy after the leg injury ❤❤️🩹🙏🫡
Heavy stuff when Anderson mentioned he would get into his car to go cry away from his kids during the recovery, fascinating interview with two dudes who know what one crazy injury is like. Loving the content Weidman, keep it up.
I remember buying both fights and not being able to sit down during both of them. Chris was THE contender and Anderson was the GOAT. This is such a treat and a great introductory conversation between two of the greatest fighters to do it! Thank you Chris and Anderson.

I must say hosting a podcast seems very natural to you. This seems like a start of something great and I'm looking forward to the next episode. Also, UFC should definitely consider having you participate in the panel. You and Anthony Smith sound like a great pairing for example.
Chris was great with bisping too, both having seen adversity and having held the same belt, the respect was there. Would love them as a pairing too. Both good guys in different ways
*I complain sometimes about how much everything sucks, but then I find this, and it makes me really appreciate being alive right now. What a treat this conversation is. Thank you both for doing this.*
When he says medicine ball i think he means the "hollow" beach ball thing, please dont have someone throw a heavy medicine ball and kick, that could end up bad
So much love to both of these men. Such a crazy set of circumstances that show the strength of two inspirational guys. The lessons in this conversation stretch way past mma. The lessons of humility, empathy, pain, resilience, and strength truly embody so much of what makes us human. Thank you, Chris and Anderson, for using your set of unfortunate circumstances to inspire your fans. Congrats Chris on the podcast and congrats Andersen on the big boxing win this weekend!!
Chris I was never really big on you, not that I hated you but I just didn't care much but after this I realize that we are all human and feel the same feelings so I just wanna say get well soon my friend and I hope the best for everyone. Respect
I just hope everyone watching knows how legendary of a conversation this is. This sport is unreal and these guys are a couple of the best to represent it. Gonna be a hell of a podcast Chris!
Boa sorte!
As traumatic that injury is, I feel that sharing that trauma to another who experienced it to establish a deeper bond more than words, and especially between your dancing partner. People sometimes see fighting as only hurting one another which is a common misconception. It's actually showing a fellow fighter one's best. It's an honor to watch your legendary fights, Chris and Anderson!
Who else can literally feel pain in their leg just listening to this? Also, I like Dana and the UFC, but pay needs to improve and all fighters should get free health insurance for 5 years after retirement if they dont go to another promotion.
The UFC needs to increase their god damn fighter salary share to at least 50% of their revenue like other sports. Compared to 18% or whatever ridiculous number was revealed in court. The fighters are the workers, they are the pillars, the meat and potatoes, the sport. They are everything, and when they are in the most elite promotion in the world risking their health for entertainment, they at least need to feel like they can pay their god damn bills and be able to build a safe future for themselves. Every one of them, not just the few who achieve title reigns deserve this. Thanks for this great interview. Get well!
Hey Chris, I'm not sure if you're going to read this man, but you know what? That was a man thing. People may forget the fights but we're never going to forget this humble attitude. Congratulations man! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Weidman got $50k for the first fight, and $400k for the second with Silva...and those were title fights! Bench warmers in the NFL get $500k a year. The UFC needs to start paying fighters waaaay more. How are you going to pay for trainers, and corner men, travel, personal household expenses if you fight 1-3 times a year for $10-50k a fight!?!? Weidman's pay was what woke me up to the awfully low pay per punishment ratio that non-Conner-McGregor-star-power UFC fighters experience. Its a dangerous zero sum game for these fighters (dudes and ladies...ladies get paid even less!!!), many of which have families. I'm with Couture. You gotta pay fighters more, or release them if they're getting more money elsewhere. Much love to both these fighters...Also, *fanboy activated* there will never be another Silva!!!
Having silva on episode 1 is poetic! The entire mma community should take notice of the camaraderie between these 2. Its beautiful to see them getting along and sending well wishes to eachother...and congrats to silva's big win recently! The spider may have only been able to use 2 of his legs, but thats all he needed!

I felt the same all these years and although I know I was wrong to feel like that, today I saw this podcast and it completely changed my opinion about Chris. Chris Weidman, you are a class act. I hope you get well soon.
Anyone else here from the believe you me podcast? Was a great episode, looking forward to this podcast 🎧
This was so wholesome.... I'm from India and Anderson got me into watching MMA... When Chris beat him I was sad... But that's the business.
But I love Chris too.. genuine dude..great work.
This is probably the best first episode of a podcast ever.
These guys are class acts and we can all certainly take something from this. Two guys that inflicted physical pain to each other now having a casual talk airing their experiences and grievances. Pure gentlemacy and professionalism right there.
I love the fact that even though there trials and tribulations, they stay faithful to God and continue to thank him.
Two warriors sharing lessons of war. There's an element of humility when 2 guys with nothing to prove speak.
ANDERSON.... The Spideeeeeer... SILVAAAAAAA
Props to Anderson for speaking the truth about the greed and mistreatment of fighters by Dana White and the UFC as a corporation
Wow what an amazing podcast. Anderson is a class act and two hall of famers discussing this is very inspirational.
That was unfortunate 😅
True but did you hear the podcast? Anderson excused Chris for that, and Weidman didn't know his leg was broken.
I would love to see Adesanya on but I dont think that will happen
Wonderboy has a great podcast and Weidman is his brother in law. They should collab.
Love it. I appreciate your opinion !! We shall see !
GSP gonna be amazing
Jordan Peterson, bobby lee, and theo vo for no particular reason.
Chris Weidman is a UFC legend, one of my favorite fighters, really humble, respectful guy, he had a amazing reign as MW champ, loved the way he beat Anderson Silva back in 2013 and his incredible title defense against Lyoto Machida in 2014, happy to see him healthy after the leg injury ❤❤️🩹🙏🫡
i got emotional when Anderson said 'don't say sorry'. pure heart!
Did not expect this and also did not expect it to be 💯 percent Perfect!!
Historic moment in MMA. Two legends.
Some wholesome shit right here. Godspeed The Chris, you're a good lad.
14.6k subscribers already...wowser, not surprised though Chris is the man. So glad Chris went on "believe you me" which is where I got the heads up on this....much love from London!
Seeing Silva friends with his two biggest rivals, Chael and Chris is amazing.
I concur.
Anderson Silva is the biggest Brazilian fighter for us. In my opinion he is the GOAT but he still humble. Thank you for this amazing interview.
Never thought I’d see the day these two would have a full conversation love to see it man.
*I complain sometimes about how much everything sucks, but then I find this, and it makes me really appreciate being alive right now. What a treat this conversation is. Thank you both for doing this.*
It’s crazy to see chris look up to silva and show him so much respect even tho he beat him twice. What a sport two GOATS 🔥
1 time....the second time was an accident.
Anderson’s English has improved immensely!
When he says medicine ball i think he means the "hollow" beach ball thing, please dont have someone throw a heavy medicine ball and kick, that could end up bad
Exactly I think he meant an exercise ball, the one you can sit on. Don’t kick a medicine ball with a recovering leg people. 😂
I'm going to throw a medicine ball at Conor's leg 🤣
I’ve never heard Chris Weidman talk outside of promoting fights. What an incredibly down to earth dude. Great stuff.
This makes me cry.I love these guys.
oh yes, this will be good
Chris I was never really big on you, not that I hated you but I just didn't care much but after this I realize that we are all human and feel the same feelings so I just wanna say get well soon my friend and I hope the best for everyone. Respect
Todo respeito para Chris e Anderson! Duas lendas do MMA. 🇧🇷🇺🇲
Silva is a living legend
I just hope everyone watching knows how legendary of a conversation this is. This sport is unreal and these guys are a couple of the best to represent it. Gonna be a hell of a podcast Chris!
Who doesn’t love Anderson Silva . What a gracious and downright nice human being. Love the show Chris!!
Thanks Chris and Anderson 🔥 Great podcast so far
You both are still OUR boyssss!!
Was looking forward to this since Chris mentioned it on the BYM podcast
Respect.. anderson silva is a true one of a kind.. I am now a fan of chris weidman.. thanks for being amazing guys
Didn't know I needed this till now 🙏 2 of my all time favorites.
I enjoy the peer-to-peer respect between the champions.
Been waiting in this since it was announced on BYM
let's go Chris road to recovery brotha
2 of the best men to ever get in the octagon 👊😎
i'm glad to watch both of you. much respect!!! Brasil 💪💪💪
This is gold. Anderson seems smarter than most people think about him.
Anderson Silva having warm interviews with guys he had heavy fueds with is probably the best thing ever hey
Pretty cool to see the two of them bond over this!
Two UFC Legends 🙌
The only way to start your podcast Chris! Best of luck, I know I'll be tuning in!
This is special. ❤️
Hugs from 🇧🇷
Having silva on episode 1 is poetic! The entire mma community should take notice of the camaraderie between these 2. Its beautiful to see them getting along and sending well wishes to eachother...and congrats to silva's big win recently! The spider may have only been able to use 2 of his legs, but thats all he needed!
