Everything about this is me in 1998 at my senior prom. Yes, we actually went to the hairstylist and requested a version of this style, except the bobby pins had rhinestones. I paired the whole look with a long, iridescent slip dress with a black mesh overlay and strappy sandals. I can practically hear the Fatboy Slim in the background, ngl it was really fun.

When I was in sixth grade, I had this frosty purple roll on eyeshadow from Claire’s that I wore to school every day for like a month. And girl I put it allllll the way on, from my lids to my eyebrows, and I rolled her on THICK. Like six layers thick.
In the dim lighting of my peace-sign string lights and lava lamp, surrounded by all my inflatable pillows and 39 spice girl posters, (all of which were ripped out of Tiger Beat), it looked frosty and lilac and perfect. I basically thought it looked exactly like Jamie’s eyeshadow in this video.
And I don’t know if maybe my lighting was off or if it oxidized, but one day my P.E. teacher pulled me aside and she asked me if my mom was ok with me wearing my eyeshadow like that, and if she saw me before I left the house. I immediately went to the restroom, and in the cold, harsh, unforgiving fluorescent light of the middle school girls bathroom, I looked in horror at this BRIGHT NEON HORRIFIC purple eyeshadow smeared and caked all the way up to my eyebrows like a friggen circus clown and took my fingers and furiously started trying to rub and blend it in. I don’t know how I went that long with nobody telling me, or without looking in any mirrors besides my bedroom, But I’m grateful she did. Thanks Ms Worley. I owe you one.

I remember being so angry in the 90s that I had eyebrows.
My mom used to take me to get them waxed and I remember my eyebrow lady told me that eventually, they wouldn't grow back, because she was careful of how much she took off. I remember thinking, I WISH mine wouldn't grow back, and wondering how long it would take for them to not grow back. Now, I use eyebrow serum to get them to grow back.

My Mom would make regular appointments for me to get my eyebrows waxed back in the 90's too. I hated how thin eyebrows were in in the 90's. When it came to thick eyebrows I would have been better off being a teenage girl in the 80's when thick eyebrows were in style instead of the 90's..
I remember plucking mine until there was just a thin line. My stepsister's grandma told us they wouldn't grow back... I'm 34 now and... They've never grown back. =(
I'm still upset that I have eyebrows. My eyebrows fan out WIDE at the ends near my temples and I have to get them threaded almost every three weeks but I'm too lazy to do that AND I don't really have the budget for it.

When I finally got back into makeup, I tried one liquid eyeliner and hated it - it was months before I screwed up the courage to try another one and now I can't remember the last time I used a pencil (we're talking in terms of months here ...)
Seriously! I'm 33 and I FINALLY learned how to do my makeup like a youtuber 🤨 these kids will never know our struggle lol

OMG the ACCURACY!!!! The white eyeshadow...I was so obsessed!!!! With blue or olive green on the lid 😂 or purple if I wore a purple shirt lol. all the way to the brow with the white too! The only thing missing is the tiny butterfly clips lol.
