The richness of NYC lies in its people. I long for the day I can finally visit it, though it'll probably be just for a few weeks. Thanks for the beautiful and authentic shots!
First of all, the song is so inspiring and beautifully shows New York. Second, the pictures come at a near beat of the music and the flashy pace at points (especially the end) add to the greatness of this video by overwhelming the viewer with all of the people which really gets the goose-bump effect. I think this video is near perfect!
This is possibly the most beautiful video I have ever watched. A place filled with the most diversity any one person could possibly see in their life. A place where you can be completely yourself with your very own unique and growing story. I would love to live in a place like this. So inspiring. Brandon's has started such an incredible and open hearted project wow I am amazed and I appreciate this so so much
this just brought me to tears, brought me to the beauty of humanity, brought me to gratefulness for the live i have...thank you God and thank you Brandon :)
I don't know why every time I watch this video I come down in tears. These are such beautiful photos, showing all the diversity, flaws, beauty and simplicity of humans. If we all knew that through our differences we could br stronger together... And what about NYC? There's no place in the world that can compare to it. Simply magic.
Amazing. I've only been to NYC once in my life, but I still feel such a connection with these photos. They represent an appreciation and genuine love of people, their unique beauty, and their individual stories.
There are so many pics in there than remind me of my months living in the city. I miss it so very much. I love your blog and your photos. Please keep it up.
This is such a beautiful video. I've used this to begin an orientation workshop for newcomers to the U.S. in New York City. It captures the diversity and spirit of our city.
After graduating from Florida State University in 1983, I moved to NYC in 1984 and lived there until I retired in 2019. I loved it there, but loving The Florida sunshine and nature now. NYC was very good to me. And what I like most about it, among many other things, was the diversity of people, cultures, food, etc.
Wow I'm actually in tears watching this video. It sums up my experience in NYC and could relate every single picture to the words in the song. Yet again Brandon, well done. Love how you capture the experience so well, love HONY!
Being a New York-er stuck in New Jersey, I absolutely love this. All your work is awesome and this makes me want to move back to New York. Love the song and love the pics, and the synchronization. Its really a fabulous piece of work.
To those that think it is "going to fast" or "don't like the song". It is perfectly synchronized. The words match the images, and the speed of the images matches the tempo of the music. A lot of thought and work went into this. Well done HONY!
Coming back to this video it reminds me the effect hony has on people. Keep up the good work! So many people really love your work including me (: This video deserves more views than this.
I must get the book now... wonderful photos... being a transplant to the west coast, I would love to see Mr. Stanton turn his talents to doing "Humans of San Francisco"....
My family migrated to NYC in the early '80s. My parents strongly believed this big city would always embrace immigrants with open arms. And they were right! I love the U.S. and am proud to call New York City my home.
I love this! Great job. Very sensitive portraits and the sequencing and timing ore right on. I also like hearing Alicia's original version of the music. O NYC I N V U

I am firmly convinced people are far too disconnected in direct conflict of the intent of social media. HONY illustrates, you can walk by someone and never know their struggles, the joy they have recently experienced, the tragedy, the downfall, or the hopelessness one may be dealing with. Simply make eye contact and say hello or some other pleasant greeting. If we are dealing with such, just maybe by politely engaging someone, you may cultivate a level of empathy, joy, happiness, or relative similarity. Smile, share, re-connect.
Love everything about this video. Who wrote and is singing the song? She really adds the glue that holds these amazing photos together, in my opinion. Yet she is credited nowhere that I can find.
I hear you. The needles are unnerving, but so are a lot of these images. In addition to implied drug use, there are images of extreme poverty & apparent mental illness. But the images do a great job of matching the song, which is overall uplifting because it's such a strong portrait of this city that I adore, w/out trying to whitewash it by ignoring drugs & prostitution. These photos are similarly honest. Without a few addicts it isn't NYC; it's Hollywood (in front of the camera, obviously).

This guy proves that you can do fantastic street photographies without being solely candid. Great work.
This is possibly the most beautiful video I have ever watched.

awesomeness. gave me the goose bumps.
0:21 is one of my favourite shots! It says so much without saying much at all... also, I love the different aspects of each element in the photo
The final image made me overwhelmed with happiness since at that point I was already in love with the video a I watched.
Wow I'm actually in tears watching this video. It sums up my experience in NYC and could relate every single picture to the words in the song. Yet again Brandon, well done. Love how you capture the experience so well, love HONY!

Your pictures are beautiful. You take photos of the most beautiful subject that can be found, Humans.
To those that think it is "going to fast" or "don't like the song". It is perfectly synchronized. The words match the images, and the speed of the images matches the tempo of the music. A lot of thought and work went into this. Well done HONY!

awesome collab, love the HONY page
I wish the slideshow was a bit slower. Before my eyes focus on one thing, it moves to next, kind of hurts the eyes.
Reminds me of a drag queen in las vegas. Asked her to sing happy birthday for my sister back in north carolina 😂 she was fabulous!!!
Love hony pics!
Woah! I'm pretty sure the guy in Picture 11 was my high school's tour guide in Spain in October 2012. Small world, seriously small.
The old veteran guy at 3:17 looks like George Bush....or what we will look like at 70! Amazing job Brandon, I love what you are doing!
ThnX !!!
love love love

Sandra Zarins After hearing it a couple of times it becomes annoying.
