Why not you test ride these three bikes once, definitely you will get good stratification and feel, I did for Himalayan and scrambler feel both are good, I will plan next year which is best for me

As per Noraly (Itchy Boots), the flickering occurs due to the shutter speed. She has mentioned it in her vlogs when she talks about the dash console/unit.

10:10 Maybe this is an app permission issue, try to change location permission from "Allow only while using this app" to "Allow all the time" is permission available, hopefully this fixes the issue.
If not then it's an application issue, which needs to be fixed by Royal Enfield or maybe Android privacy policy issue which can never be fixed.

This is a very nifty feature but having a tough time understanding the use case on bikes. Even if they fix screen lock function, wireless display is still battery hungry. It's fine in cities and short rides but in long rides if I need to keep the phone plugged to a power source then directly mounting a phone to the handle bar makes absolute sense. What's the use of keeping a cell phone powered to a bank in a bag or pocket. They say they developed it from scratch. I suspect it's a port from a Chinese brand. They should have explored open source projects based on RaspberryPi to develop a dedicated unit with pre-installed maps. One thing I do appreciate is that they did something new. The other brands will now have to catch up.

That feature is one of the most biggest feature I was looking for in new 452. This screen on thing makes it completely useless. If we want to keep the screen on, why to conenct we can directly look at the phone normal google maps which is clearer and larger. Hope RE will fix this near future. What is testers doing from RE? Isn't this comes as a logical test from factory? test like this should be done before handing over to customer right Bulu? wats your take

I think its a limitation other wise they would have done it.
Because you risk your phone getting damaged if you use it directly of you fall with the bike or something.
With this, the phone will be more secure. But yes if the screen was off it would be 10 times better.
Its not Andoid Auto or Carplay. The tech used for this has no capability to mirror screen when phone is locked. Use it if you want, else mount phone and risk it falling off

I had doubts on this from the very beginning when this bike was in the Himlayas ridden by media persons. In a video I remember someone was saying the phone needs to be on for the feature to work. It means it's only miroring from the phone and not at all a standalone feature and that's a bad news.

You can adjust it on the menu: dark, light or auto.
Hi Bulu bhai..... aap android se try karke dekhe kya... yeh navigation ka issue... iPhone kills most of the background apps and put it in cache memory.. so maybe yeh ek reason ho ki lock karne ke baad dash pe navigation band ho jaata hai... not sure but this experiment can clarify RE to patch their app for sure
Shoot at 50 fps and make sure shutter speed is 100 then it won't flicker

Flicker is due the fact that this device has FPS of 60 whereas go pro shoots at 50 fps. You need to change the settings of your go pro to increase the fps to 60 or if you have a old go pro switch to newer device or may be switch of dji or insta 360

That's the reason I don't depend on navigation feature. Instead I use my secondary phone with a holder for navigation.

I hope that navigation feature works with Android phones with the screen locked. Otherwise one of the biggest features RE introduced for a change also happens to be absolutely useless.
Hopefully it should get addressed by a software update at a later stage.
It's mirrorring feature... So you have to keep the phone display on with soft lock on
There is nothing different for iphone or android. It requires your sceen on everytime
Then it's a brilliant feature getting wasted. I hope it's fixed with some software update
I doubt it will be fixed via software update. It's a phone mirror feature and so cannot work on its own.

About navigation, what this person is saying that he will not use himalayan nagivation ! What are his options then, use his phone, right ? Then he will have two screens, one for phone and another inbuilt. Whereas in this case , you can keep the phone safe in your box or pocket or some pouch without exposing to rains , sunlight etc and still enjoy navigation....So i really don't understand his problem

@@oneleaf6884 Battery drainage will not occure when running google maps in the mobile phone directly ??? Also there is a charging port in the handle bar to solve this problem , if it occures at all. Itchy boots used the TFT navigation in all her episodes , she didn't encounter this problem.
I was just answering your question, LoL. Battery drainage and mobile heating is the answer to your first question. And I can consider your solution for the battery consumption, what about heating issue. Using navigation + charging mobile + your environmental heat. Good recipe for your phone's long life 🤌🏿

Lol, the app uses screen cast which is based on wifi, the basic implementation of screen cast is that the screen needs to be on. Its a privacy concern as well.
Just use, screen dimmer if you phone is is OLED which is basically turning all the pixel to black. Which will not consume any battery
Please reasearch on how these things work before commenting.
