Symphony No. 4, "West Point" Morton Gould The University of Texas Wind Ensemble Jerry Junkin, conductor Bates Recital Hall, Austin, Texas September 15, 2019 I. Epitaphs (0:03) II. Marches (12:21)
One of my favorite (top five) symphonies for band -- what an awesome interpretation -- so enjoyable to hear/see this ensemble and their incredible conductor!
Excellent performance! Listen and look closely... there's MacArthur ...Lee ... Jackson ... and a host of others on the parade ground, preparing to lay their lives on the line for our republic. Bravo!
Love the uploads! Any chance of getting some of the Symphony Orchestra performances uploaded too? Missed the Pictures at an Exhibition concert. Heard it was incredible!
I loved the performance but the camera work was not good. They missed or were late on many featured players (muted trumpet, Horn, English Horn, and a few more)
What are there always so many empty seats for these marvelous performances? Hearing this ensemble live is a bucket list item.

One of my favorite pieces, and probably my new favorite recording!!! I love the musicality in this ensemble and the energy from Prof. Junkin!! #HookEm
Wonderful. I played tuba with this band and with the Austin Symphony in 1955.
I’m playing “horn karaoke” with this video to learn my part in wind ensemble - you are totally ROCKING THIS!
My mistake. The video director got the English Horn cue in Marches

Bravo!
Junkin really let them have it at the end!

This was either September of 2016 or 2017. I was in the group this past year and we didn’t play this in September of 2019...
