    After I split my channels out of the FPC, I route the drums back into the FPC channel as a drum bus.
    that's kind of how Akai does it with their drum programs. you create a drum program, and each program exists inside something called a "Pad mixer" which is essentially a bus inside of the mixer.
    I love FL studio, I learned everything about sound and audio through it, even routing. A lot of DAWs are simpler, but FL lets you do anything your own way even if it's like 12 extra steps.
    Overall though, this is a fair video. I think the FPC gets overlooked a lot. It has tuning, and ADSR, layering all that jazz, and I think it's the least talked about plugin in the daw, even though I think it's the best drum rack FL Studio has to offer.
    Sucks you gotta create the drum kits yourself, but it's no different than a real MPC. and I think there's FPC expansions/presets around. I know you can save the drum kits you make inside of it too.

    Great video, will be trying this tonight, I have a quick question. Is the group channel required as the main channel had all the drums running through it. Once you grouped them what then happens to the fpc on insert 1.
    Thanks.

    • @tbrizOfficial
      @tbrizOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If I recall, the actual FPC track doesn't have a signal at that point... Sort of just a placeholder... But honestly I am going by memory, it's been a while since I made this video. Grouping everything to one insert makes it so total volume of all drums can be changed as a whole... I don't have time to rewatch the video otherwise I would check and see what I did, so just going by memory LOL... Best way to find out is to follow along and try it out! Thanks for the comment ✌

  • @MrOuija-rr8kq
    @MrOuija-rr8kq 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    My issue with using presets for FPC is that it keeps the same name in the mixer. So if you put a kick where a Snare was , the mixer will say “Snare” until you rename it. Which can get cumbersome. No Other DAW is like this. It’s automatic in other DAWS

    Beautiful, i learned something new. Thanks for that information. What, if i want to slice some drumloop and add that to the Fpc.. Is there some easy way to do it? I know how i can use slicex and add one slice at a time to Fpc, but it´s hard and slow way to do it. Any faster way?

    • @tbrizOfficial

    Can you set up MULTIPLE FPC's at once, and control (trigger) them from external controllers, individually? (Like, for instance, by specific midi channel mapping... FPC 1 gets triggered by incoming channel 1 midi, and FPC 2 gets triggered by incoming channel 2 midi messages... Possible?

    • @tbrizOfficial
      @tbrizOfficial  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I believe it is possible... I have had 2 midi controllers locked to different channels, one for midi drums, and one midi keyboard. Though I don't remember how to do it. Try to google "fl studio lock midi controller to one channel"... though I think if you right click the channel, go to "receive notes from" and then select your midi controller, it will lock that controller to your one channel, and then do the same on the other channel for your other midi controller.

      Hey - I'm not sure TBH... Might have to go and do some experimenting

  • @Jako8557
    @Jako8557 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think the actual 'FPC' insert is not being used anymore, once all the individual inserts are routed to the 'Group' Insert (is that right ??).
    Can all the individual percussion instruments instead be routed to the 'FPC' insert and use it as the group insert (and do away with the group insert altogether) ??
    or am I missing something...

    • @tbrizOfficial
      @tbrizOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Jako,
      Here's my thinking on that...
      The FPC insert is still being "used" even though it is no longer getting an audio signal. Look at the channel rack... What insert is the FPC channel connected to? Even though we rerouted the audio from the pads to other inserts, that FPC insert is still very much connected to the FPC channel and awaiting an audio signal. For instance, if we un-routed any of the pads, they would default back to the FPC insert track... or, if we were to load a FPC preset kit, it may not have pads routed either, defaulting the audio back to the FPC insert. So I leave this track here because even though it is not currently receiving signal, it is still very much connected to the FPC and I would not use it for anything else.
      Setting it up the way you suggested may work (go ahead and try it out, why not) - but I would much rather have my audio separated in a way that I know what each insert purpose is... one insert completely dedicated as the FPC default insert, and one insert is completely dedicated as my group insert. To me, there is no reason to combine the two - I have plenty of faders to work with so might as well make them very specific to stay organized.
      I hope this makes sense. Just my thoughts on this and it is ultimately up to you to experiment and find out what works best for you! Appreciate the comments!

    • @Jako8557
      @Jako8557 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tbrizOfficial I'll try out both ways and see what happens. Thanks for your thoughts.

    • @AutPen38
      @AutPen38 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd have to double-check to see if that's possible, but when I set up some FPC drumkits, I just kept the kick drum with 0 for the offset (with snare on +1, hats on +2 etc) so that there is no "wasted" channel on the mixer. I still send those mixer channels to another group, but my personal preference is to have the kick drum on the very first fader (0 offset).
