Watching Flash be the "bigger man" right after Uncle Ben's death is one of the most unnerving perspective shifts; the subtle reference to how Flash uses violence as a coping mechanism as well, his willingness to temporarily be a punching bag to help Peter - it throws we the audience on our head as we realize just how lost Peter has been since his parents' deaths. @@BURZUMY3ah A bullet wound is decidedly worse than a huge scratch especially when you consider the deepness of the wounds and what they actually injured.
9:01 I would like to point out a line in 13 Reasons Why said by Tony. "Does this make you God?" While yes, Peter was responsible in a cause and effect kind of way, he never could have realised that Ben's death would take place due to his recklessness. He should not blame himself for something he couldn't control.
It's not about whether he is responsible in a malicious way that he could have known, it's about the nature of your actions causing a bad outcome and the effect it has on the human psyche. He shouldn't blame himself because he couldn't have known what was going to happen, but it's in his nature as "just a normal guy" to feel like it's his fault, to blame himself. All of us who have lost someone that we could have made a difference in their fate had we just done one thing differently can relate to Peter's dilemma here.
This is still my favourite live action Spider-Man movie, and I'm so glad that you finally did a video on it. I love the cast, I love the characters, I love the chemistry, I love the story, I love the direction, I love the message, and I love the progression and development of the story and the characters, that you elaborated on so well here. Prior to this I had watched the '94 cartoon series and the OG films, and I had enjoyed them sure, but this movie and every single thing about it really made me a Spider-Man fan. It takes it's time building Peter by tearing him down, and only then does it make him stand, help him out, make him the Peter that so many people love. I also absolutely love how instrumental Gwen becomes to the story. Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield have cemented themselves as my ideal Gwen and Peter. This movie, while yes not perfect, it's amazing (pun definitely intended) in so many ways, and everyone involved with it did such a tremendous job with it, that I'm always gonna love it, it resonates with me so much. P.s. I was 19 when I first watched, so thank you for thinking of that in the video. :P
Dude, actually. I feel the same way. I was 17, on a verge in my life, deciding career. So confused. Watching Peter in it, I became too connected to him. A character development that people should appreciate. It deserves much more love and respect as a film.

I love how this film treats spiderman as a vigilante rather than 'superhero' . Like he is still figuring out his morals and some of the stuff he does is even questionable to the audience but only to the extent that you are still rooting for him. Also, Peter chooses to use darker colours in the suit and darkened eye pieces which matches this milestone on becoming a 'crime fighter' aswell as making sense in the way he is being more stealthy and careful at this point with a lot of night scenes he is supposed to be blending in to. In that sense, the suit is more realistic (disregarding the fact a single teen made this) all while being still Faithfull to the comic book suit we all know and love

I think it's because of the story in the second one? The first one seems amazing (heh) to me, the second had too much in it, trying to set up for a sequel for most people, and although I can admit that's true, I feel like people hate that movie because there was no sequel. Ok for me Gwen was a good girlfriend because she made her own decision to help peter while Mary Jane was good and all she couldn’t help Peter Parker in any way other than the brick on venoms head
Gwen and Gravity however were not very close
@xcrinn9896 Waaaay late, but I've gotta say: Gwen an Gravity had a great dynamic. It could've gone much further had Floor not gotten in the way.
I like to think uncle Ben putting the unsolved Rubix cube is him showing just how lost or jumbled up peter was at the time of that scene in the film.

While yes, Peter was responsible in a cause and effect kind of way, he never could have realised that Ben's death would take place due to his recklessness.
@@spikem5950 But in the end it’s Ben’s fault for trying TO PICK UP A GUN WHEN NO ONE WAS HURT
TheRizGuy dude me too
Dude, actually.

I really liked the more confident Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man.
I agree. Tobey's Spider-Man was annoyingly slow at times and I know he's supposed to be awkward, but sometimes it just felt too awkward.
