I started building a bow based on your $15 bow build video with oak and fiberglass tape - got most of the way through tillering and was not comfortable carving out the grip...oh yeah...that was 2020 BTW. I JUST finished that bow a few minutes ago. Granted other things got in the way like buying a home and getting heavily involved in my local blacksmith community... selling that home, buying a better one etc...but it's done! Now I just need arrows! BTW your string arrived yesterday and it is FLAWLESS! Only concern I have is as I was finalizing tillering, I heard crack sounds a couple times. Which freaked me out but I drew it all the way to 30" on my tree and it never exploded...made me nervous but it never popped. Exercising the bow to full draw (30#) a couple hundred times it never blew up... Hopefully shooting arrows doesn't apply more stress on the limbs and break it. I see areas for improvement but particularly where the handle transitions to the limbs but I think it's pretty damn good for a first attempt. Thank you so so much for being a huge inspiration to get into archery!

Just found this video as I watch more of your videos that I must have missed over the past few years. I started watching your "100 arrows a day" video a few years ago but somehow missed videos like this one that are so incredibly educational on (fiberglass) bow building which is what I'm mostly interested in. I've built 2 fiberglass-backed longbows 2 years ago (Bingham Projects kits) and really wish I had seen this video (and others). My handles turned out ok (and my second was considerably better than my first as I learned from my mistakes), but this video would have steered me toward an even better handle shape. Great stuff and I am so thankful for your willingness to share this kind of information! Truly fantastic stuff. Thank you so much.

I don’t know if you have ever seen Texas recurves but I really like their limb tips and want to know how to go about making them if you could make a video at some point that would be awesome
This handle style reminds me of late 60s through early 80s recurve. Very comfortable and secure. Could you suggest an appropriate poundage for a small game recurve? Mostly squirrel, rabbit, maaaaybe raccoon. Really glad the company is taking off!!
Ever built a grip for a shoot off the hand bow, years ago ( many years ago ) I built a few self bows that I craved in a simi grip for shooting off the hand turned out not so bad of a deal... I cant seem to make a glue on handle this short for a bow over 55#. They always eventually pop off. What length power lam and riser would you use for say a 60# bamboo backed bow like this? Ive moved to a 10" riser and 12" power lam and haven't had this issue again. Do you ever have 8" handles/riser pop off with this design?

I wanted to say that I’m not even an archer nor do I shoot or hunt, but that video made me actually want to buy a bow and start killing hay bales and targets in my back yard 🎯. I understand you probably don’t want any negativity attached to that video and we all know how people on TH-cam/the internet are, but it might help the algorithm show your products to a broader audience if there were more interactions in that comment section. I’m just saying if it made me want a bow then it might get more people into the “hobby” and what better place to start than with one of your awesome handmade works of art. Keep doing what you do man and good luck with the business and everything. Hopefully soon I’ll buy one of these bad ass bows and join the cool kids club. 👍🏻

I used to watch this a lot and even made a bow off a tree all I have to say is bro you are amazing at this just diversify your content because I see the potential but you are just restricted by the fact that all you do is make bows maybe just a little different content about bows you know switch it up
I myself personally stay away from all bows that are made of all wood , & that’s because over time they lose significantly more & more power because of humidity or lack there of & once that happens there’s no fixing it & you have to buy a new bow & toss the old one away , it’s basically throwing your money down the drain . If you want a bow that your not going to have to replace over & over throwing money away buy one with a metal riser & now-a-days you can have a riser custom made just for your shooting style & grip . They come in different metals & can have cut outs to make them much more lighter & you have the opportunity to buy any pound limbs to put on them for any type of shooting or length . With a metal riser you have more opportunities to set your bow up for you . Paying $450.00 to &550.00 for a wooden bow is such a waste of hard earned cash & it’s a liability & not guaranteed & can become unsafe . Don’t waste your money on a full wooden bow it’s not a good investment for the sport of archery .

Make a longbow using the power rods from a BowFlex exercise machine. No need to scrounge up a complete machine. New replacement rods are available.
