  • A back-to-work refresh of my planner (and journal) system as I return to work. I am using two Hobonichi Weeks for my work/academic planning -- the Tiny Dragons as my everyday carry which holds all of my work and life planning and scheduling, and a new Weeks in the navy leather that is exclusively for work planning that I use in tandem with the first. I also show the notebooks that I am using for journaling purposes: the Hobonichi A6, a Midori/MD paper A6, and a Leuchtturm1917 pocket notebook dressed up in the Cats & Me Hobonichi Bow & Tie fabric.
    Planners:
    1. Tiny Dragons Hobonichi Weeks in clear cover on cover
    2. Navy leather Hobonichi Weeks
    Journals:
    1. Hobonichi A6 avec, leather cover by ‪@LeCow‬, gorgeous Wildlore nature patch from Arcana by Ria Mishaal (wearearcana.com) in the 'Hopeful' 🦋 design. Other beautiful patch themes and designs include: 'The Joyful' 🕊️ • 'The Authentic Path' 🌿 • 'The Individual' 🦒 • 'The Fortunate' 🌸 • 'The Loved' 🍓 • 'The Tenacious' 🐢 • 'The Transformed' 🪷 • 'The Long Lived' 🐘 • 'The Kindred' 🌻 • 'The Protected' 🦔 • 'The Resourceful' 🐿️
    2. Midori/MD Paper notebook A6 in Hobonichi A6 Highway cover with clear cover on cover, postcard from Arcana by Ria Mishaal, sticker by ‪@lovesoup.studio‬
    3. Leuchtturm1917 Pocket Notebook with Cats & Me fabric cover from Hobonichi (repurposed from Hobonichi A6 HON)
Thank you for watching, and I hope you enjoy!

Thank you for taking us through your current planner system. I love (LOVE) how you've been using your hobonichi weeks, and seeing how you've filled your pages up is so satisfying. Your vertical layout has inspired me, and I might experiment with that before I make final decisions about the weekly supplement for next year. While I know routines/schedules/life and work circumstances will continue to change and evolve this year and next, I find myself hoping for a little less frequent change/overwhelm and more consistency next year. Perhaps if not in life, then at least with my planners!

I’m so glad to have found an academic in the journaling community - as an ECR in Psychology, it was super interesting to hear you talk about your work-related planning/note-taking workflow! Really made me think about adding a weekly layout for pre-planning, since right now I’m only doing monthlies and daily rapid logging… Also, I love how you reused the Hon cover material. It seems like such a great way to recycle an old Hobonichi!

yay hello to a fellow academic! I'm so glad that you found this interesting and that you're thinking about adding a weekly layout! I'd actually done just monthlies and bujo/rapid logging as well previously (and am still doing a bit of that in an A5 dayfree)! I do find that that combo works well too, especially when I need/want to be more detailed and have more room. thank you so much for your kind words and for watching! 🥰

thank you so much, it really is even lovelier in person! 😍 I actually used fabric glue to put on the patch at the moment, and I'll see how it holds up ~ I've never tried leather glue before but it's something I might consider at some point if this doesn't work!
