This grandma would NEVER put a dryer sheet into a pot or pan for food use!!! For burnt on food in a stainless steel pot or pan, just let it soak in steaming hot water for about 45 minutes or more. Then, under the water, gently scrape off and discard the loosened burnt stuff with a spoon or spatula. You'd be surprised at how much was loosened. You can soak again if necessary. Pour out the water. Lastly, scrub out what's left with Bon-Ami, Bar Keeper's Friend or baking soda (whichever you have on hand), then wash with soap and water. Rinse well and check for residue when dry. I prefer to use Bon- Ami, myself. I use it on my Pyrex and Corning glass bake ware, too. That's my grandma's tip for the day! Good luck! 🍳👵
I tried everything to get the smell of onion out of this one deli container. Nothing worked, so I got my Dymo embosser label maker and marked it as being for onions. Problem solved. :D I buy a 6 pack of 91% rubbing alcohol almost every month and use it for spraying down everything to disinfect because bleach water stains stuff and I pretty much only wear black. you can even spray alcohol on your laptop keyboard. I cut the hair and strings off my vacuum roller for years then finally, the bristles just seemed flat so I bought a new roller instead of a new vacuum. $40.00 vacuum has lasted me 10 years and still going strong. You can buy a new roller from walmart online. I fell in love with Wettex Swedish Dish Cloths. I get one wet with bleach water with dish soap and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute to remove microwave odors because my boyfriend always puts his food in there to save for later. Once you use Swedish dish cloths you never want to go back to regular ones again.
Yep, sunlight does wonders, whitens, kills germs, etc. Good old sunlight, being demonized by the medical profession, stay away from this critical factor of good health. Just look at what happens to just a simple house plant under actual sunlight vs. various color temperatures of artificial light, even simulated “daylight”. The cellular activities cease to function properly. They get confused, and depending on which form of not-actual-daylight, the confusion manifests in different ways, but still all screwy. Sure, you can still get them to grow, but they aren’t operating properly, and if you want your cells to function correctly, you need God-given sunlight, and you need more than 20 minutes a day. We were not designed to hide from the sun. Our entire system was designed to spend time in the sun, our skin, our eyes, it all needs to see the sunlight. And NOT through UV protective windows, glass (most eyeglasses have UV blocking lenses), or sunblock lotions. All glass made today “protects us” from the dreaded life-giving, hormone balancing, proper cellular function-producing sunlight. God forbid we should be exposed to what keeps us healthy. We don’t put sunscreen on animals or plants, the most we do is give them shade when the sun is extreme or for long duration in the day. The crap people put on their own skin….why would you slather chemicals on your largest organ? And then bake it into your skin? For those very pale people who say they burn and never tan, they need to learn the phrase “base tan”, or building a base”, the slow, but consistent exposure to the sun, increasing duration daily until a base is formed and then one can just not worry about the sun as long as it is maintained, and if necessary, repeat the process after being indoors more or simply more covered up for winters. Too bad we have drones now, because the less you wear to get your sunlight, the better. Your body NEEDS it. For those who are impatient to build a base tan, or want to keep skin nice and soft, the natural way for millennia has been coconut oil and cocoa butter. It keeps the skin soft, and they have a bit of a natural, mild SPF, but we used it only to deepen our tans, we would never dream of trying to block the sun. Skin cancer went up when people started putting chemicals on their skin, and the first sunscreen was unknown carcinogen in the whole time. Only idiots try to get SPF. You build up a base tan and you let your skin darken like it should. It’s not the tanning, it’s the burning that is an issue. You won’t “age faster”, quite the contrary, from my experience. They keep saying that skin cancer rates “keep going up”, sure, Sherlock, because the use of chemicals on the skin and the avoidance of the sun keeps going up. Duh. Base tan, don’t burn, no skin cancer. Get sunshine. We don’t need “protection” from the sun, we need protection from the AMA, the FDA, the CDC, the NIH, the WHO, and all other forms of the medical and health mafia.
Dry erase marker works instantly. Just draw over the Sharpie marks with a dry erase marker of the same or similar color, not necessary but you won't turn your red dry erase marker purple by using red over blue Sharpie.
I 💖 your hacks. Some force us to think of others too: * If vodka kills bacteria and odors, we can use it in shoes and in the air of vehicles overnight too * Coffee filters are great for cleaning car windows, keep a couple handy in there * ❤✌️
9:17 it’s not a quick and easy method. 14:07 how much time you take to rubbbing baby powder in the gaps of the floor boars, how much is cost? And the next hoovering it’s coming out and can start again. Easier to buy some silicone, which flexible and coming in any colour or transparent. You have to do it once and it’s fix it for years.
The toothpaste has to be the basic white stuff. The one with stripes doesn't work too well, and don't use the gel at all...that was stated but the white stuff works brilliantly
For bee stings- Make a paste of food grade Bentonite clay and water. Smooth the paste over the stung region. It removes pain and swelling almost immediately
That’s the best. And 1-3 teaspoons in applesauce, water, or anything liquid or mushy swelled down will end food poisoning. 95% cured in a couple of hours, not bad. It locks the toxins out of affecting the bloodstream, rounds it up. It’s clay, so it behaves like cement, so some liquid is necessary. Because it will pull all excess moisture from the body, that may be a plus to start. Then, once digestion is balanced again, drink more water, you don’t want to dehydrate or block anything, but it’s totally safe to wait to drink a whole glass of water until you’re not in excess. But more isn’t better, in that you wouldn’t want to take more than a tablespoon at first just to get it over with sooner, that could be bad, and it isn’t likely to be necessary. If for some crazy reason it isn’t mostly better in 4-6 hrs, then repeat, but I highly doubt most people would need to do that. And one could take 1 tablespoon, and if it was mostly better but still a little remaining, try another teaspoon and wait an hour or two, before another teaspoon. Then get some electrolytes, because food poisoning will strip you of them. And the clay will dehydrate you, just like mixing cement, you want to swallow a slurry, NOT a brick. taking it dry could cause blockage, I would guess, but making it liquid, that’s why the half cup of applesauce or 4-6oz water. I personally say the least amount to make a slurry to swallow. It is better, but if somebody wanted to put it in a whole glass of water, it would still work. To me, it would just be harder to drink 8 ounces of clay water than 4 ounces of thicker clay water. I think the applesauce is the best. And it’s best to take it away from prescription medications if possible, because it can lock onto that as well, possibly make meds less effective. Stay hydrated, definitely, and with electrolytes, because your heart needs them and too much water can cause hyponatremia and brain swell, heart issues (when people get the stupid idea that they should drink as much water as they possibly can, I can be deadly. We are to drink enough, but not too much, and when it dilutes the electrolytes, that’s when it’s the very most dangerous. Electrolytes to drink, and Bentonite Clay should be in every medicine cabinet. It never expires, either. 😊 (Ya, my sister would ask that). It is more effective than any store medications, and internally, or externally as you said, it sucks up poison and won’t let it go.
Who’s gonna sit there all day with a potato on a rusty knife? If anyone wants a real hack for rusty metal, just soak a rag in vinegar, wrap it around the metal and leave it overnight, making sure it doesn’t dry out. Unwrap it in the morning off under running water. Voila, rust gone and no scrubbing.
It cuts grease the best and is safe for wildlife. They use it to clean birds and other animals caught in oil spills. No dish soap works better on greasy things. Not even close.
Baked on food. Swish around in soapy water, put upside down on the counter, for an hour at least. Flip it back and everything is really soft and easy to remove.
Have a smelly plastic containers from storing food inside..mix good amount of baking soda and water fill up the container with it and shake, let sit overnight and the smell will be gone.
I always have a big container of G-101 at home. So many uses that I barely keep any other cleaners. It cuts grease like nothing else. I’ve even used it on a cabin that had smokers in it and it pulled the nicotine right out of the walls. You don’t even have to let it sit for grease on the wall. Just spray and wipe with a soft cloth, comes right off with no scrubbing at all. You can only get it at AutoSmart though.
I’m a grandma, I automatically knew alcohol would clean my phone. When I seen this video. I was surprised at my knowing. How did I kw this. I cleaned my phone with alcohol long before I seen this video.
These are not grandmother tips!! Grandma never had keyboards, mobile phones!! To sanitize mattresses she put them out on the tin roof in hot summer and would turn it over after a few hours. It’s the baking soda in toothpaste that scrubs. It cleans the inside of anything, any bottle, great way to clean coffee pot, keep it fresh. Run some vinegar or citric acid through coffee maker every so often every week or whatever, depending on how hard your water is and how much you make it, it’s certainly cheap enough to do, and run again with clear water to rinse, and it will keep it running well, no mineral buildup. If it’s taking your coffee maker, a long time to make coffee and it didn’t used to, you need to clean it out. They sell coffee maker cleaner packets, but it’s just a rip off because it’s citric acid which you can buy more cheaply, or just run vinegar through it regularly. Even just a cup maybe with some water is going to do the job. Add more if your buildup is bad. ***It’s alcohol that cleans off ink.*** People say to try hairspray, but it’s just the alcohol in the hairspray doing the work, so just use some rubbing alcohol, vodka or gin, (whatever you have with the highest % alcohol) and that will get the sharpie off, and it works better than toothpaste. Most are alcohol based, so use the alcohol on ink stains, wherever they are. Keep it centralized when on clothes, spray or dab it, soak, and wash-and don’t use any heat unless you want to set it. Just cool water, and repeat if necessary.

My Grandma didn't have dryer sheets.
I use baling soda for glass surfaces,or any scrubbing
Pour baking soda followed by vinegar down a clogged drain to help clear it.
Dawn also
@@darlenemstrommer7687 thanks
Follow with near boiling water afterwards too
@ElsieJoy39 not in winter pipes may burst, bust, crack plumbers charge more in winter too :(
Rubbing alcohol is cheaper than vodka
Soda Bicarb is even cheaper....sprinkle over mattress, leave for as long as possible, then hoover off
Right? and with toothpaste at $6 a tube baking soda is cheaper too
Hairspray on a rubber glove to remove pet hair? You can get the same results by just using water on the glove! It works great, and no chemicals!
For iron cleaning, my mother put salt on wax paper, not parchment paper.
Thanks for the tip!

I've never heard of Swedish dish cloths. Thanks for sharing!😊
So what is a swedish dish cloth?
I don’t like Swedish dish cloths, too thick.
Back in the day a mattress was called a tick.
We took it outside in the sun, it did magical things to that tick.😅😅
We had to spring clean often.
That's so interesting! It's crazy how much things have changed.

Baking soda & vinegar to clean toilets
Baking soda& water in a paste for bug bites

If you wash the clothes with detergent will usually get deodorant out as well.
That was just deorderant not stain. Stain wont come out.
Shiny nails use a natural sealer
Shiny nails, use a buffer. File, smooth, buff to a shine. They’ll be as shiny as glossy polish. And your nails will breathe as they should.
I used spray Pam o my shovels to remove snow, slide right off.
use hairspray to remove ink from clothes

Elmer’s glue/white school glue, flour or even baking soda, a touch of water, now you have a flexible spackle for nail holes.
Why is Dawn dishwashing liquid recommended so often in these hacks? Would any other dishwashing liquid do the same thing or just that one?
It cuts grease the best and is safe for wildlife. They use it to clean birds and other animals caught in oil spills. No dish soap works better on greasy things. Not even close.
Ideas, not hack. Hacks are a short way of doing something that usually takes a lot longer.
Use food colouring in the back of the toilet... not Koolaid
Ya, pretty much anything colored, if you got some flat soda, whatever has color does the job.
Setting plastic ware in the sun, lids off, sun shine on smelly surfaces, works great
I use white toothpaste to filling small holes , use white out for marks on wal!s . use clear toothpaste on lip stick marks.
Baked on food. Swish around in soapy water, put upside down on the counter, for an hour at least. Flip it back and everything is really soft and easy to remove.
Yes! That's a good one!
Boy will we sleep well.. vodka dowsed mattress.Am I gonna wake up with a headache??.
You might get a DWI on your way to work
Have a smelly plastic containers from storing food inside..mix good amount of baking soda and water fill up the container with it and shake, let sit overnight and the smell will be gone.
I prefer real lemon juice in my pan over night to clean a burnt pan.
I use old toothbrushes to clean filters on vacum cleaners. It's not perfect. But it helps until I have to replace them.
yeah. Old toothbrushes are great for cleaning lots of things.
How do I get grease off of paintedwalls???
BLOWTORCH !
Use regular dawn dish soap
I always have a big container of G-101 at home. So many uses that I barely keep any other cleaners. It cuts grease like nothing else. To remove Sharpie marks, mark over the Sharpie marks with dry erase marker and wipes right off with one swipe
Was there a foriegn language at the end? 🙂
Most of these are absolute rubbish ! the items did not even exist in Grandmas day !
My Grandma and my mother never saw a phone screen. Some of these aren't that old.
There are grandmas alive when cell phones came to be
Im 66 n my mom never seen one n nor had my gma
I’m a grandma, I automatically knew alcohol would clean my phone. When I seen this video. I was surprised at my knowing. How did I kw this. I cleaned my phone with alcohol long before I seen this video.
I guess it because my mom used alcohol to clean the old fashion tvs
My grandmother never had a inside toilet
Kool aid in my grandmas time nope
Good morning you just got a subscriber I am thinking of doing this like this but I am afraid if AI voice over can be monetize
dont waste vodka on bed. use vinegar.then when done...drink the shot of vodka. Then, even if the job is not done, you dont care anymore.lol
Agreed, don't waste the vodka. Regular alcohol works just fine.
Use nylons to remove antiperspirant stains on clothes

Food coloring works too. So does baking soda,
Spray Alcohol on sheets to disinfectant bed sheets not vodka

Use Forever Aloe Ever-Shield Deodorant and you will NEVER get your clothes stained yet you will stay fresh and free from odour all day long.
im 76 i have never needed underarm deodorant--i never use itl dont know why though.
I used bleach to get out onion and garlic oder out of my plastic storage bowls.
Vinegar takes out deodorant stains, too.
Cheap tooth paste
Use the inside of a lemon peel to neutralize odors in plastic ware.
Ultrabrite is the best cheap white toothpaste to use for cleaning.
Brushing teeth with baking soda is the best way to clean and keep teeth white.
Love ❤️ Thank's and Bless you 🙏 Vote Blue ❤️ 👌 😂 🗳 Congratulations 😂
